Perth Scorchers 174/5 (20 ov)
Brisbane Heat 115/10 (16.4 ov)
Scorchers won by 59 runs
Player of the match: Colin Munro
A gnarly day for the people of Brisbane as they had to witness their impenetrable fortress being breached by the Indians in the Test series loss earlier in the day and now watch their home franchise collapsing in a run chase. The BBL action continues tomorrow as the Melbourne Stars take on the Melbourne Renegades. That's it from me(Pratyush) and my friend Ankit, as we take your leave. Thank you for joining us!
Colin Munro : Everyone asked if we can only play at Optus after the loss in the last game, but it's great to bounce back and that's exactly what good teams do and I think we did that really well as a collective. It's nice coming in after the two Poms(the openers), they've come out and are obviously world class and go hard. Today I could just take my time as well. I built an innings, after a run a ball 25, took a leaf out of Vincey's page who played a run a ball 30 against us before going bang and playing a really crucial knock for them, so I just took a little bit out of that.

On this Scorchers bowling attack : Yeah, I've said it time and time again. I think this is one of the best bowling attacks I've ever played with, even the guys in the nets are outstanding bowlers, and it's a very good preparation when you face them in the nets before you play other teams, so yeah we're very fortunate.

A bit of a break and then back to back games, so we'll just rest up hopefully, probably have some training and have a go!
Chasing a huge total on a surface like this was always going to be a tough task for the Brisbane Heat but they'll be disappointed as they looked well in control around the halfway mark of the innings. The early dismissal of Max Bryant was countered by the aggressive Chris Lynn, whose 27 runs off 16 balls gave a decent enough platform to other batsmen. The innings moved along nicely with Joe Denly and Lewis Gregory but the loss of wickets at regular intervals along with the ever climbing required run rate finally took a toll on the Heat batsmen, opening the door for a stupendous collapse. They lost 7 wickets for 29 runs, a tough loss for the Heat, who will have it all to do in their next 3 games.

As for the Perth Scorchers, they jump to the second spot in the points table, after another dominating performance with both bat and all. The bowlers did a fantastic job as the seamers, Richardson, Tye and Behrendorff got a brace, while Fawad Ahmed got a three-for to seal the deal for their side! It was Colin Munro who has been in exceptional form in this tournament, who finally played a match winning knock of 89 in the first innings and is awarded the man on the match.
That's it! The Perth Scorchers have sealed the deal! That's a dominant performance from the three time champions as this formidable side jump to second place!

The Perth Scorchers win by 59 runs.

cricket ball icon Fawad Ahmed
16.4 Fawad Ahmed to Morne Morkel, OUT! CAUGHT! Thus end the formalities, with Morkel looking to pick the full length delivery in any hope to get some runs, but did not have enough bat on it. Long on comes running in to take a comfortable catch to end the game.
16.3 Fawad Ahmed to Morne Morkel, full length on the stumps, Morkel defends it but the ball was on its way to hit the stumps, that is stopped by Morkel.
16.2 Fawad Ahmed to Mark Steketee, good length delivery, on the pads, flicked away for a single.
16.1 Fawad Ahmed to Mark Steketee, edged but safe, with no slips in place. A full length wrong one from Ahmed, completely undoing the batsman on that occasion.
Fawad Ahmed comes back into the attack.
Andrew Tye completes another brilliant over as he has throughout this innings! The Perth Scorchers only have to complete the formalities now as this game is pretty much done and dusted after the collapse from Brisbane Heat.

15.5 Andrew Tye to Morne Morkel, over pitched but just played to the fielder at square leg.
15.4 Andrew Tye to Morne Morkel, full pitched delivery cut to backward square leg but a misfield helps get two runs.
15.3 Andrew Tye to Morne Morkel, beaten, as the latter fails to get any bat on this good length delivery, that is carried to the keeper.
15.2 Andrew Tye to Morne Morkel, slower full pitched delivery, defended by Morkel.
Morne Morkel, left handed batsman, is the new man at the crease.
15.1 Andrew Tye to James Bazley, OUT! CAUGHT! Two wickets in two balls for the Scorchers. AJ Tye rolls his fingers over the ball to use his variation against Bazley, who falls prey, tries to take it over mid off, but could only manage to find the fielder.
Matthew Kuhnemann, left-handed batsman, is the new man at the crease.
