Well, amidst all that Rahul Tewatia frenzy (again), let's not divert from giving due attention and praise to another masterclass from Shubman Gill. He's hitting it as well as he ever has and this could well be Gill's IPL. Still early days but jeez, what a sign for the Gujarat Titans, who remain the only unbeaten side in the competition. They now face the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Navi Mumbai on Monday (April 11). The Punjab Kings will know this is a tough pill to swallow, but they must put it behind them before they face the Mumbai Indians in Pune on Wednesday (April 13). They're still a threatening outfit in their own right are the Kings!

Shubman Gill is the Player of the Match for his sublime 96 off 59 deliveries.

Gill: It's important to keep the scoreboard ticking. This wicket is really rapid and it's important to hit the gaps consistently and keep the scoreboard ticking. (Has he changed anything ahead of the season?) Not really - it's just about execution. Some days you hit the ball well but can't find the gaps, but on others you don't really hit it well but still find the gaps. I'm just hitting the ball well. I am hitting the ball hard - it might not feel like that but I am doing that. We've not really had this talk that the top-order needs to go big but for me, I feel there should be one batter who be set until the end so that it will be easier for the others. When you go in the nets, you just try to practice and reduce the dot balls as much as possible and see what happens in the match.

Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans captain): The kind of ups and downs happen, I have become neutral to it. I was upset, I was happy but I'm normal now. To be honest, hats off to him (Tewatia). It's not always easy to go out there and hit them. With the world watching and the pressure, hats off to him. (On Gill) It's pleasing to see the way he is batting. He's telling everyone that - "I'm there". It's a good sign for us. A lot of credit goes to Sai as well. Playing in the first game and batting like that, it's incredible. Every game is going to get better. (On his personal fitness) The body is doing alright. I'm getting better. Getting a bit tired after bowling four overs and batting. As the games come in, I will get better. No problems with being the only unbeaten team in the tournament. I'll take it.

Rahul Tewatia, or should we say, Lord Tewatia? Anyway, here's what the hero of the game has to say: Nothing to think really. You have to go out there and look to hit sixes. That's what Miller and I discussed. If anything happens and we have to hit the sixes, then we have to plan to do something against the bowler. I planned to do something against Odean Smith and it was executed perfectly. I knew it was out of the middle of the bat. So, I knew it was going the distance. The first ball he bowled outside the off-stump, so I anticipated that again. I pre-planned that shot. There was no choice, I knew I had to go for the big hit. There was nothing to lose. I went for the big hit and it executed. (On the staff) It's pretty chill. Ashish bhai, Gary Kirsten, the rest of the staff are also really chill. They just tell us to practice hard and execute well in the game. That's what we are doing.

Mayank Agarwal (Punjab Kings Captain): It was a tough game but I think we really fought hard. I thought we were 5-7 runs short. We really pulled it back after the start they had. It was a game with positives for us. We did really well to get ourselves to that score after losing so many wickets so we were really happy with that and I'm really happy with how we fought on the field. It was great execution by both of them - fantastic effort by them to pull is back into the game. In the last over obviously it could have been anybody's game. We totally back Odean - it could have gone either way but it's fine, we back him 100 percent. It's just a game of cricket - it could be a bitter one to swallow but it's fine. The talk in the dressing room is that we are going to back the players even if someone has an off day.

WOW! Catch. Your. Breaths. Folks! We are out of words - not sure if we can do justice to sum up this blockbuster clash but I assure you, we will try.

So let's start with method and sanity, shall we? Shubman Gill stroked his way through the course of a sumptuous masterclass. Despite the loss of Matthew Wade in the Powerplay, Gill continued to thrill in his own, sublime manner. He had for company, a certain Sai Sudharsan on debut - my word didn't he look the part himself!

The duo went about it without a fuss, notching up a century-run stand, although despite staying on course with the eight-ball for a good part of it, some excellent defensive bowling saw Sudharsan slow down a touch. He eventually perished for 35, before skipper Hardik Pandya came out to take matters into his own hands.

Gill seemed to tire himself and the asking rate continued to mount - it didn't help that Arshdeep Singh sent down two overs of pure gold dust towards the back end, conceding a miserly 11 in all. 32 were needed off the last two overs and despite Pandya finding the fence on a couple of occasions, a tired Gill perished, leaving the Titans 19 to get off the last.

And then came the (anti?)climax! Pandya was run out, and he walked off disgruntled with David Miller for some reason. And it brought that man again - the man who is the protagonist of these whacky climaxes; the man who keeps giving. Rahul Tewatia!

13 were needed off the last three deliveries and how much will Odean Smith rue having attempted a needless run out that resulted in an errant throw. Two slot deliveries followed, both travelled over mid-wicket and Rahul pulled off another Tewatia to script another one for the ages! Time he brings out a book and adds these epilogues one at a time - we might see a lot more out of his blade alright!

Stunning effort from fielder as he held onto the catch and tried to parry it back into play but he's unable to do so. One more six! Can Tewatia do the unthinkable?
