Luke Wright, the winning captain of Team Abu Dhabi: -
We knew that against that batting unit, we needed to get early wickets. The bowlers set it up for us.

Ben Duckett of Team Abu Dhabi is the Player of the Match for scoring 27* from 19 balls.
Abhinav: Team Abu Dhabi complete a really hard-fought 6-wicket win over the Qalandars, as they enter the 2nd Qualifier & they have to thank the Nottinghamshire duo of Joe Clarke and Ben Duckett for dragging their side back from trouble, with a 44-run partnership for the 4th wicket. Clarke hit a quick 22 off 13 balls, while Ben Duckett ends with 27* off 19 balls. Chris Gayle got 15 runs at the start of the innings from 8 balls, but both Stirling & captain Luke Wright both didn't add much to the scoreboard, while Najibullah Zadran ended with 9* off 6. For the Qalandars, they have to thank their bowlers for dragging them back into the game, with the left-arm spinner Sultan Ahmed getting the wickets of Paul Stirling & Luke Wright off successive deliveries & ended with a spell of 2/21 from 2 overs, while Ahmed Daniyal also bowled with a lot of heart and skill to end with 1/16 from 2 overs, while Chris Jordan had 1/12 from 1.4 overs, but apart from Sohail Tanvir, who had 0/9 from his only over, there wasn't precious else from the other bowlers. The Qalandars must be ruing their batting effort, which completely dented the lion-hearted efforts of their bowling attack. While for Team Abu Dhabi, they've turned their tournament around in some amazing fashion & now live to fight another day, as they now take on the Northern Warriors in the 2nd Qualifier, to determine which of these two sides march into the finals against the Delhi Bulls.
8.4 Chris Jordan to Najibullah Zadran, SIX! Wraps it up in style! Low full toss outside the off-stump, picks it up over extra cover and clears the fence with ease
8.3 Chris Jordan to Ben Duckett, goes for the ramp shot but it is a really slow delivery from Jordan, ends up hitting the back of the bat
Abhinav: A slight pause in the game as Ben Duckett asks for a new piece of willow, as his previous bat's handle is coming off.
8.2 Chris Jordan to Najibullah Zadran, full delivery outside the off-stump, drives it through to sweeper cover. Zadran wants the second but Duckett sends him back, and rightly so
8.1 Chris Jordan to Najibullah Zadran, digs it in short at pace, Zadran is way too late on the pull and gets no contact on the pull
Abhinav: Another good over comes out of this for Abu Dhabi, as they get 12 runs from it & move to 80/4 after 8 overs, needing only 4 runs from 12 balls. Jordan continues, with what could be the last over of the game.
Over: 8 | Summary: 1 1w 4 0 0 4 2 Bowler: Mohammad Zahid Score: 80/4
7.6 Mohammad Zahid to Ben Duckett, the batsman is a bit late on the pull and mistimes it horribly, the ball barely reaches the edge of the circle which in turn helps them to come back for the second
7.5 Mohammad Zahid to Ben Duckett, FOUR! Short of a good length at pace, Duckett sits deep in the crease and pulls it nice and flat to the square leg boundary
Abhinav: Ben Duckett is playing a really effective & measured knock here for Abu Dhabi & is calmly taking his side over the finish line.
7.4 Mohammad Zahid to Ben Duckett, goes for the ramp shot this time but makes no connected, Dunk completes a fabulous take after the ball gets deflected off the thigh pad
7.3 Mohammad Zahid to Ben Duckett, quick low full toss, surprises the batsman with the pace and Duckett mistimes it straight o the ground and back to the bowler
7.2 Mohammad Zahid to Ben Duckett, FOUR! Slow and full on the off-stump, moves across and plays a lap sweep. Duckett gets an inside edge onto his pads and the ball runs fine to the boundary
7.2 Mohammad Zahid to Ben Duckett, slower ball down the leg-side, it barely misses the leg-stump but the umpire judges it a wide
7.1 Mohammad Zahid to Najibullah Zadran, full delivery on the middle stump, mistimes the whip to deep mid-wicket
Abhinav: A disciplined & successful over by Jordan, who concedes just 5 from it, apart from taking the wicket of Joe Clarke, as Abu Dhabi are 68/4 after 7 overs, needing only 16 runs from 18 balls. Another major effort over needed for the Qalandars, who summon Mohammad Zahid, the right-arm pacer to bowl this over.
