RR vs RCB Match Result
- IPL 2019 Match 14
Royal Challengers Bangalore
158/4 (20.0 ov)
164/3 (19.5 ov)
Rajasthan Royals won by 7 wickets
Player of the match:
Right then, that's it from this game. RCB have now lost four in four and they need to quickly turn things around in this tournament while RR finally got on board as far the points table is concerned. Hope you've enjoyed our live coverage. Join us tomorrow as the two heavyweights clash - MI and CSK. Until then, it's a goodbye from us!
Shreyas Gopal (Man of the Match)
: I'm fortunate and lucky to get such big names wickets. Getting such big names out won't come it's not going to come everyday. The plans worked today. Coming into the bowl in the 7th, I think we created a lot of pressure in the first 6 and it was upto me as they had to get the runs off me. I go on gut feel as to which delivery to bowl at that moment. But it's good to have a few different balls up your sleeve.
: We thought restricting RCB to around 150-160 will be really good. We started off really well but the way Shreyas Gopal bowled to Virat, AB and his record against them we all know. Overall, it was a great team effort. After three four overs, we thought the wicket was slow. If our spinners bowled well, we knew it would be tough for them. Definitely a relief to get first points. I thought we played some good cricket but didn't cross the hurdle and tonight was about giving more than 100%.
: Today I think was a more competitive performance. I thought we were 15-20 short in the end. Marcus and Moeen got us to 160 sort of a target which was competitive but with the dew factor but 15 runs would've been more challenging as you saw theit difficult to bat on. Few changes came our way but we failed to grab them.
In pursuit of 159, Buttler and Rahane gave the team a flying start. Buttler continued his great form while 30s from Rahul Tripathi and Steve Smith also helped. Barring Chahal, none of the other bowlers looked penetrative. Also, RCB were very sloppy in the fleld. They dropped quite a few catches and the misfields cost them dearly.
And Rahul Tripathi finishes things off in style. Short ball from Umesh and he pulls over the deep square leg boundary. Also, they are off the mark in this IPL.
19.5 SIX! Umesh Yadav to Rahul Tripathi. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed over deep square leg for 6 runs.
19.4 Umesh Yadav to Ben Stokes. Back of a length, off stump on the front foot Steer, to point for 1 run, fielded by Nath.
Excellent fielding from Pavan Negi.
2 required off 3 balls
19.3 Umesh Yadav to Ben Stokes. Back of a length, middle stump on the back foot working, to mid wicket for no runs, fielded by Kohli.
19.2 Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tripathi. Short, off stump on the front foot pulling, mis-timed to fine leg for 1 run, fielded by Siraj.
19.1 Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tripathi. Back of a length, off stump on the front foot working, to deep mid wicket for 2 runs, fielded by Ali.
5 runs required off the final over. Kuldeep defended 6 the other night. Can Umesh Yadav deliver and become the hero of the game for RCB?
Smith goes trying to finish things off as he holes out at long-off.
RR: 154/3(RR 8.11)

18.6 OUT! Caught. Mohammed Siraj to Steven Smith. Back of a length, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, to long on, by Yadav.
18.5 Mohammed Siraj to Rahul Tripathi. Short, outside off stump on the front foot hooking, to deep square leg for 1 run, dropped catch by Ali, fielded by Ali.
Another drop! RCB have missed multiple chances tonight. It was short and Tripathi goes for the pull and Ali running in from the boundary and drops it.
18.4 Mohammed Siraj to Steven Smith. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, mis-timed to mid on for 1 run.
18.3 Mohammed Siraj to Steven Smith. Back of a length, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, bottom edge to silly mid off for no runs, fielded by Siraj.
18.2 Mohammed Siraj to Rahul Tripathi. Back of a length, middle stump on the back foot working, to fine leg for 1 run, fielded by Saini.
18.1 Mohammed Siraj to Steven Smith. Back of a length, off stump on the back foot pulling, to deep mid wicket for 1 run.
Just nine required now. RR should do it in a canter.
