That wraps up our coverage for the double-header game today. Tomorrow we will have yet another double-header so do join us for that. Until then, goodbye from all of us at Sportskeeda. Goodnight!
What a homecoming it has been for the Royal Challengers Bangalore! Shane Watson won the toss and decided to bat, a move that showed rich results as RCB got off to a flier in the first two overs.

However, once Gayle fell to Morris, Nadeem bowled his heart out and applied the brakes on the RCB train while Morris picked three crucial wickets. While wickets were falling at regular intervals, Kedar Jadhav exhibited superb skills and took RCB to 157/8.

Set a target of 158 to get, Tare and Billings got DD off to a steady start but once Tymal Mills re-arranged Tare's timber, DD kept losing wickets at regular intervals albeit they were always in the hunt through Rishabh Pant.

Words are not enough to express the knock from Rishabh Pant, who played his heart out but could not give Delhi their first win this season. An improved bowling performance meant that each RCB bowler picked up at least one wicket and in the end, it was sufficient to help RCB cross the line and register their first win.

In a nutshell, RCB performed exceedingly well to defend a total of 158. In home conditions and under pressure, the home side managed to chip away at crucial junctions and come out victorious.
Kedar Jadhav is adjudged as the man of the match for his scintillating 69-run knock.

He said :
I'm feeling on top of my game and I'm working on my fitness too. At the age of 15, I was just clearing 30 yards but I was improvising well at that time. I just watch the ball, keep the options open and react to it. Even though I'm short, I work hard on my fitness and gym. When your top players are not playing, you have to take responsibility. I want to do that for the rest of the tournament too".

Shane Watson, the RCB skipper said " It was a great win. Kedar batted beautifully. Our score was a bit below par, I think the wicket was slow tonight. You want to turn the momentum around very quickly even if it was only one loss. The way we fielded and bowled was very good tonight.
When asked about the decision to bowl Negi in the last over he said "Just my gut feel with Negi. Pant hadn't seen him tonight. It was a gamble, no doubt about that. Chahal has done it for a long time for the RCB and he has done it for India too.

Zaheer Khan, the losing captain said "Eight out of ten times we would get over this total. Just couldn't get the partnerships going today. The wicket was playing well and we could have applied ourselves better. As soon as a new batsman is in, we needed to spend time in the middle getting used to the conditions but that wasn't to be". On Rishabh Pant's knock, he said, "Pant played really well and he needed some support at the other end. He showed real heart with his commitment and we are all there for him as a team. Speaking about the game he said, "The ball was sitting up nicely and that is why 157 was possible to get is what I felt. Glad that Nadeem got the opportunity in this game. We have someone like Jayant sitting out and we have enough depth in the bowling. It is the batting that is inexperienced but once they get in, they would be unstoppable. I am happy to be back on the field, enjoying every moment with the boys."

What a dramatic turn of events for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the end! After a heroic batting performance from Kedar Jadhav, RCB appeared to be short of runs but the bowlers always kept the home team in the hunt with frequent wickets backed by the fans, who kept cheering the team throughout the game!

Yet, one cannot simply forget the lion-like performance from the young Rishabh Pant. Coming into the side following his father's demise, the youngster almost took away the game from RCB with his power hitting but did not find support from the other end and unfortunately, his 36-ball 57 run knock could not take Delhi across the line.

19.6 Negi to Mishra, 1 run, that is it! Brilliant last over from Negi and RCB have their first win of the season. RCB win by 15 runs!
19.5 Negi to Zaheer, 1 run, short ball, Zaheer bunts it to long on.
19.4 Negi to Mishra, 1 run, slow length ball, Mishra turns it on the leg side to get  a single. It is game over now. 18 to win off 2 ball
Zaheer Khan, right-arm fast is at the crease.

19.3 Negi to Nadeem, OUT! What an over this has been! Nadeem goes for a slog and gets a top-edge towards mid-wicket. Negi runs around and pouches it easily. He has done this last over, easy! What a big boost this will be for Negi's confidence.
19.2 Negi to Nadeem, no run, dot ball for sure, but is that out? Vishnu Vinod looks confident. Not out. Nadeem has not dragged his back foot out of the crease.
Shahbaz Nadeem, right-arm bat comes to the crease.
19.1 Negi to Pant, OUT! What a dramatic turn of events! BOWLED! Watson did not have any pacers to turn to and throws it to Negi. What does he do? Negi strikes first ball! Coming to the ball, It was full and on the leg-stump. Pant moved across and tried to sweep it over square leg, but he missed it and Negi hit. Game, set and match?
It all comes down to the final over! What a match this has been. Crucial last over. 19 runs required.

Surprise surprise! Negi to bowl the last over.

139/7 after 19 overs. What a stunning over from Watson! Just two runs off the over and the pressure is definitely on DD.
18.6 Watson to Mishra, no run, poor from Mishra! He looks to play the paddle sweep, and misses it again.
18.5 Watson to Mishra, no run, length ball from Watson. Almighty swing from Mishra. He doesn't get bat on ball. Absolutely brain-dead cricket from Mishra.
18.4 Watson to Mishra, no run, short of a length from Watson, Mishra misses an attempted cut shot. This is absolutely poor from Mishra. Looking to smoke it out, needs only to get Pant on strike.
18.3 Watson to Pant, 1 run, length ball from Watson again, and Pant has absolutely smoked that to long on. Brilliant fielding from Binny to keep the batsmen down to one, and important Pant off strike.
18.2 Watson to Mishra, 1 run, length ball on middle stump. No inside edge on that one!. A stifled appeal from Watson but the umpire is not interested. Pant is back on strike.
18.1 Watson to Mishra, no run, length ball from Watson. Mishra looks to loft it over long on and is beaten. Poor batting from Mishra. All he has to do is give it back to Pant.
Watson will bowl the penultimate over.
137/7 after 18 overs. The equation is now 21 off two overs after that six. Who will bowl the last two?
17.6 Mills to Pant, SIX! What a shot from Pant! It was short from Mills. Pant got inside the line of it, swivels and helps it over fine leg for a maximum. That is a big shot in the context of the game.
17.5 Mills to Mishra, 1 run, short of a length and fast from Mills, Mishra flicks it behind square for a single. What does Pant do off the last ball? Keep the strike or go for the big one?
17.4 Mills to Mishra, no run, the slower bouncer from MIlls and Mishra has no clue. He is done with his shot and then the ball comes to him, for him to palm it away. One can only wonder why RCB did not appeal for handling the ball.
17.3 Mills to Pant, 1 run, 50 for Rishabh Pant! What a knock, especially given his personal circumstances coming into the game. That was a slower one from Mills and Pant bunted it to the man at mid on,
Rishabh Pant is now on strike, facing Tymal Mills. Who'll come out on top? Tension everywhere.

17.2 Mills to Mishra, 1 run, short ball again, Mishra fends it into the leg side. There is a man rushing in, but the batsmen scamper through for a single. Mills bumped into Pant as well.
