With that, today's live coverage comes to an end. Do join us for tomorrow's doubleheader. Until then, it is goodbye and goodnight from us, here at Sportskeeda.
Sandeep Sharma is the Man of the Match for his brilliant spell. Two Man of the Match awards in a row for him.
Glenn Maxwell, the winning captain, says, "We did really well, the history here gave us some confidence. Axar's score gave a good total to defend. Our bowlers did good job in patches.Sandeep Sharma has been an amazing in the last 2 games. To get those 3 out in the tournament is a big thing, having all of them in one innings is just brilliant. We probably were a little bit patchy with the bat. The highest score batting first here is 161, we thought of putting up 180 on the board. Two games in Mohali, that probably suits our bowlers and with big boundaries the spinners will come into play. Axar has a great record there."
The Stylish Player of the Day award goes to Mandeep Singh.
Perfect Catch of the Match award goes to Wriddhiman Saha. Maximum Sixes award goes to Axar Patel.
Time for the presentation ceremony.
Virat Kohli, the losing captain, says, "It's really disheartening; I don't know what to say in games like these anymore. It's happening many a time now for our liking. Anything we are trying with the bat is not working, the whole squad is trying to be positive but we're not finding a way to make a big score. Wickets are falling too quickly, I can't pinpoint anything, we're trying to be as positive as we can. Our preparations have been similar to what we did last year, but what matters is what you do on the field and this season has been against what we've wanted. We let ourselves down with the bat once again, I've not seen so many collapses for a team in one season.

"We didn't plan anything specific against any bowler. AB smokes those balls more often than not (to the ball he got out). Sandeep bowled really well, he pitched it in the right areas. You don't really understand what to do in times like these."
It has been that kind of a season for RCB. Once again, it was their batsmen who failed to take responsibility and chase down a modest target. I can only imagine how disappointed Virat Kohli will be with this performance. But then again, even he failed to get going today.

On a day, when the bowlers dictated the proceedings, we were presented with yet another low-scoring affair where RCB ended up on the losing side. 139 was never an imposing target and with the likes of Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle in your line-up you would expect to chase that down with ease.

The story that unfolded was entirely different, though. If it was Aniket Choudhary who troubled the KXIP batsmen in the first innings, Sandeep Sharma had the RCB batsmen on their hunches in the second. The medium-pacer picked up three crucial wickets to set the tone for the rest of the bowlers to follow suit. Axar Patel was very impressive with the ball as he picked up three wickets as well.

Mandeep Singh led a solo fight back and did well to keep the hopes alive until Glenn Maxwell castled him with a quicker delivery. After that, it was only a matter of when rather what will happen in the end.

Those 19 runs scored off that last over off Shane Watson by Patel proved to be the difference between the two sides in the end.
It's all over! The Kings XI Punjab win by 19 runs and keep their chances of making the playoffs alive!

Axar Patel is on a hat-trick here! This has been some performance from the allrounder.
17.2 OUT! Bowled. Axar Patel to Samuel Badree. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, missed. The ball goes clean through to the stumps.
That should be the match over for RCB.
17.1 OUT! Caught. Axar Patel to Pawan Negi. Stock length ball, middle stump on the front foot Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to backward point, by Saha. Saha and  Aaron were coming in for the catch, but they collided. Saha does well to keep hold of the ball.
Negi and Badree are just looking to keep the scoreboard ticking and take it right down to the wire. Maybe, Negi will have a swing in the last two overs and go for a win. 28 runs needed from 18 balls. Still, gettable.

Axar Patel
will bowl the 17th over.
