With that, the live coverage of today's first match comes to an end. Do switch tabs and join us for the second game between the Kings XI Punjab and the Gujarat Lions.
The Man of the Match award goes to Sunil Narine. No surprises there.
Gambhir says, "I haven't seen that kind of a partnership, to be honest. It was an unbelievable effort. This is the best partnership I've seen in my entire career. You don't see teams getting hundred in six overs. He (Lynn) must be the hardest hitter in international cricket. The way he played today after coming from injury shows how mentally strong he is. It was the team management's call (to get Narine opening). It was some of the best hitting I've seen."
The Perfect Catch of the Match award goes to Umesh Yadav. The Maximum Sixes award goes to Travis Head. The Stylish Player of the Day award goes to Head, as well.
Time for the presentation ceremony.
Chasing a modest total of 159, KKR were off to a flier as Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine absolutely annihilated the RCB bowlers. Lynn started off the fireworks but it was Narine who took away the game from RCB’s grasp.

The West Indian took on his fellow countryman, Samuel Badree, hitting him for three consecutive sixes. Narine took just 15 balls to complete his 50, the fastest in the history of IPL. Lynn, as well, was hitting the ball a long distance and by the end of six overs, KKR had reached 105.

However, Narine was dismissed right after the power play. Lynn completed his 50, off just 21 balls, and was dismissed as well. Colin de Grandhomme played a good knock of 31 before he was stumped by Kedar Jadhav. RCB got two late wickets but by then, the game was already done and dusted.

With this win, KKR have climbed to the second position in the points table.

For RCB, Pawan Negi bowled well but by the time he had come on to bowl, there was not much left in the game.
KKR win by six wickets with 29 balls to spare!
15.1 Pawan Negi to Manish Pandey. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, to deep backward point for 2 runs, fielded by Head.
Chahal has managed to stretch the game to another over! KKR need 2 runs to win the match.
