That's that from this TNPL encounter, don't forget to tune into Sportskeeda as we have plenty of cricketing action happening tomorrow. India kicking off their tour against the West Indies as they take on the host in the first ODI in Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain. England lock horns against South Africa in their second ODI in Old Trafford and then Ireland look to avoid whitewash against New Zealand in Belfast. This has been me, Pradeep signing off, stay safe and take care!
Rahil Shah has been adjudged the Player of the Match for his splendid spell of bowling that set the tone for the win!
Rahil Shah (Captain, Ruby Trichy Warriors): Would've loved to chase it and won it, a win is a win, I'll take it any day. The track is little dicey, it was turning and then keeping a bit low, I took the challenge and bowled the 20th over as well. Three left-arm spinners and Atheeq who can bowl a bit of both. Atheeq bowls with the same pace with the both hands and that's the beauty of him, keeps in the right areas and I hope he's the one for the future.
Ruby Trichy Warriors won the game by 4 runs by DLS method!
A day to forget for the Spartans, first they were bundled out cheaply for a paltry score. Their batters were never in the game, wickets kept tumbling. Later on when they came out to bowl to defend that, they struck twice in the same over but then the rain got heavy all of a sudden.
Warriors were just ahead by 4 runs when the players walked off the field as the downpour started and after a couple of hours of waiting game, it has been decided that the Ruby Trichy Warriors were ahead by 4 runs and that means, they pick up those crucial two points. Spartans would've fancied themselves by getting few more wickets to dream of an improbable win but that seemed farfetched at all times.
Alright. Not the greatest of news for the cricket fans, the match has been called off without any ball bowled after the five overs from the second innings and Ruby Trichy Warriors have won the game by 4 runs per the DLS method!
Update 10:06pm IST: Some news coming your way, the rain has stopped but the covers are still on though. Stay tuned for more!
While we wait for the rain to subside, here's some news from the India tour of West Indies, the visiting side have been dealt with a huge blow as KL Rahul has been test positive, news inside right below!👇
Update 9:22pm IST: Just to let you know, the DLS par score at this stage is 22 after 5 overs and Warriors have nothing to worry about that though, they are just ahead. The rain is getting a bit heavier now, more covers come on to cover the ground now.
Alright, it's getting a bit heavier now and the players take off, the covers come on as well.
There's a bit of a drizzle now and something that's not going to worry both the teams though, five overs are done and even if pours down heavily, it all boils down to D/L method.

4.1 Murugan Ashwin to Amit Sathvik, drops it short on the off-stump, Sathvik on the backfoot punched it but finds the cover fielder.
Murugan Ashwin brings himself on now!
What an over that from Lokesh, two quick wickets and suddenly the new batter was under a bit of pressure. Spartans needed a bit more there, if they had about 120, it was game on.
