Pakistan winning the game off the final delivery then, a game that they should have won with lot more ease, making things nervy for themselves in the end, losing wickets again towards the end and for a brief moment, in that final over, all three results looked possible! Edge of the seat thriller this but Pakistan successfully chase the target down to take the lead in the series.

They did not start well, losing Fakhar Zaman early and could not get a lot of runs on the board as well. The start was slow for them and they were on the backfoot as South Africa did manage to keep things tight upfront. However, it was the century plus stand from skipper Babar Azam and Imam UL-Haq that brought them back into this game and at that stage, it really looked like Pakistan were cruising and would go on to win this game comfortably. Babar Azam leading the way with a terrific hundred but it was that spell from Anrich Nortje that turned the game on it's head. His fiery spell got South Africa back into this game as he picked three quick wickets in the middle to make things spicy.

Again, Pakistan came back strong with the partnership between Shadab and Rizwan that once again brought them in the drivers seat and after a brief panic period, they looked to be well back on track, only until those last few overs where we witnessed the peak of drama in this contest. Going right down the wire, that none of us would have expected it to and it got all nervy and tense in those final moments. Some good bowling from South Africa again towards the death, they probably did not have enough runs to defend in the end and that no-ball, that could have been a wicket, was another moment of luck going Pakistan's way.

Battle of nerves this and it's Pakistan who held their nerves in those nail-biting moments and they have survived a scare, when they lost back to back wickets when Nortje was on absolute fire. All's well that ends well for them though and they start the series and the tour off on a positive note, with a win and there could not been a more fitting contest to kick start the series and this tour off. This should be the trailer of more drama to come throughout this series, more of such thrilling contests and you would certainly not want to miss out.

That's it from us then, as Pakistan draw first blood and go 1-0 up in the series. They will look to take the momentum further to seal the ODI series. As for South Africa, they will get some confidence from the way they came back from behind to take this game right down the wire and they will be eager to comeback strong and win the next game to keep the series alive!
That's it from this game! We've had a great game of cricket at the SuperSport Park with Pakistan clinching a cliffhanger! The next ODI is set to take place on Sunday with Pakistan eyeing a series win. Will they set the record straight? Only time will tell. But until then, this is Dwijesh, along with my colleague Rishabh signing off. Goodbye, and Take Care!
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): Credit goes to the bowlers, who made good use of the conditions. We wanted to make use of the hard lengths and picking wickets in the first ten overs helped us. When I went to bat, I wanted to build a big partnership along with Imam and that's what we did also. When the wickets fell in a flurry, I did feel we should have finished it then and there but we will try improve this aspect.
Babar Azam is the man of the match!
Temba Bavuma (South African Captain): Not the result we were looking for. We were tested and pushed to our limits but a good start to the series. We didn't help ourselves with our batting efforts. We were aided by that partnership between Miller and Rassie. Nortje bowled well but it just wasn't enough. The guys are naturally aggressive and we probably didn't come off today. Our dismissals were soft, including mine, and we need to execute better. We need to improve and put a lot of focus there.
What a game this has been! None of us would have anticipated this to go right to the last delivery! Going right down the wire and eventually, Pakistan win the game that they should have won a lot more easier, nevertheless, they win by three wickets in a game full of drama and they will be highly relieved! They also lead the series 1-0
Over: 50 | Summary: W 0 0 0 2 4 Bowler: Andile Phehlukwayo Score: 277/7
49.6 Andile Phehlukwayo to Faheem Ashraf, FOUR! PAKISTAN WINS! It was a length ball bowled outside off. All Ashraf needed to do was reach out and cut it past the fielder at covers for a boundary! After all those twists and turns, Pakistan has finally sealed a win!

In all the euphoria out on the pitch, it seems like Faheem ran across for a single before the ball hit the boundary ropes. Pakistan are awarded just the one run but they won't care. They've finally seen this game through.
49.5 Andile Phehlukwayo to Faheem Ashraf, IN THE AIR AND SCORES ARE LEVEL! A length ball bowled into the stumps, Ashraf chips it over the bowler's head and comes back for a double! Super Over?
49.4 Andile Phehlukwayo to Faheem Ashraf, a slower ball bowled at a length, Faheem lets it go! This is bizarre! Another dot ball nonetheless! 3 to win off 2 here!
49.3 Andile Phehlukwayo to Faheem Ashraf, a back of a length delivery bowled into the batsman, who cannot make contact on this occasion! Another dot ball but first, Ashraf has to pass the concussion test!
49.2 Andile Phehlukwayo to Faheem Ashraf, a full ball bowled outside off, Faheem drives it firmly but straight to the fielder at mid-off. Dot ball! Gold in it's weight at this stage!
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Left-Hand Bat, is the new man in.
49.1 Andile Phehlukwayo to Shadab Khan, WICKET! DRAMA! A full ball bowled outside off, Shadab tries to seal the deal with a maximum but he ends up holing out to Rassie at extra cover!
Andile Phehlukwayo with the final over
Brilliant start to the over from Ngidi, getting in those crucial dot balls and just when it looked like they had another wicket, Van der Dussen drops a skier, was a tough chance under the lights. Ngidi came back right away but it was a no-ball! Oh dear, what a penultimate over this has been. Pressure releasing boundary from Shadab and this should be the game for Pakistan!

Pakistan need 3 more off the last over
Over: 49 | Summary: 0 0 1 2 1nb 4 3 Bowler: Lungi Ngidi Score: 271/6
48.6 Lungi Ngidi to Shadab Khan, a slower ball bowled outside off, Shadab edges it towards the keeper, who cannot stop it and ends up collecting three runs!
48.5 Lungi Ngidi to Shadab Khan, FOUR! Ngidi tries the yorker but misses it by some margin but Shadab has carved it past the man at mid-off for a crucial boundary! That should be the killer blow to RSA
48.5 Lungi Ngidi to Shadab Khan, BOWLED! OR IS IT? This is extraordinary! Ngidi bowls a waist-high full-toss which Shadab plays on to his stumps! The South Africans celebrate but Shadab is confident that it is a no-ball! It goes up to the TV umpire, who deems it a no-ball! DRAMA
