Australia have moved to the top of the ladder, but the clash at the basement is on, as South Africa are aiming to bag their first win in pursuit of 127 against Afghanistan.
Tune it to Sportskeeda for the second innings of that fixture. See you there!
That led to a comprehensive victory, when at once it looked like Sri Lanka would run away with the run chase. Dimuth Karunaratne's 97 was key, but once he went back to the pavilion in an unfitting fashion, it was no way back for them.

Aaron Finch top-scored with a marvelous 153, notching a 173-run partnership with former skipper Steve Smith. (73) Australia fell short by 15-20 runs, finishing on 334/7 courtesy of a cameo from Glenn Maxwell.
In reply, Sri Lanka came out with a daunting statement. Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera added 115 for the first wicket in no time, before Mitchell Starc (4-55) got the breakthrough.
The Islanders were cruising even after the first wicket, but once they let Australia have sniff of the scheme of affairs, the Aussies turned up the heat and buried their opposition underneath, as in the space between 31-40 overs, the defending champions picked up six wickets while shipping 58.

They won by a whopping 87 runs, after Pat Cummins removed Nuwan Pradeep to seal the deal. With that Alex Carey claimed his 13th catch of the tournament as well. What a tournament he's having!
45.5 OUT! Caught. Pat Cummins to Nuwan Pradeep. Half volley, down leg side backing away driving, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Carey.

Using the short ball as a weapon or a trump card is miles more effective.
