SRH vs CSK Match Result
- IPL 2019 Match 33
Chennai Super Kings
132/5 (20.0 ov)
137/4 (16.5 ov)
Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 6 wickets
Player of the match:
In the end, it turned out to be a pretty one-sided affair. The action next, shifts to the Feroz Shah Kotla where the Delhi Capitals host the Mumbai Indians for a top of the table clash. Join us tomorrow for live action. Until then, it's goodbye.
David Warner (Man of the Match):
Great support, even through there was plenty of yellow out there. We were a bit hesitant in a few of our previous chases and that's why I tried to bat through 20 overs. Credit to Jonny. We complement each other pretty well out in the middle. God bless, I have two beautiful children and a wonderful wife. I can't thank them enough. I have been getting plenty of support not just from Australia but also here in India.
It was a very good performance. CSK started very well with the bat but they way we performed in the latter half of the innings was outstanding. We need to adapt to the conditions and will look to build on this performance. Rashid Khan has been an outstanding performer for us over the years and he is a big threat on such surfaces. That was a match-winning knock from Warner. They both (Warner and Bairstow) have been fantastic for us at the top of the order.
It is a good wake up call for us. We failed to capitalise on the start provided by our openers and kept losing wickets in the middle overs. We couldn't even rotate the strike properly. MS Dhoni had a stiff back prior to the start of this game. Hopefully, he should be back for our next game in Bangalore. It is important that we keep playing well as a unit.
It was a rare off day for the Super Kings. The men from Chennai were outclassed in all departments by the local boys, who ended their three match losing streak and gain two much-needed points to stay in the race for the playoffs. The chase, once again, was majorly governed by David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, who continue their dream run this season.
And Bairstow doesn't miss out. Lofts Sharma for a mighty six to seal the game in Hyderabad's favour.
16.5 SIX! Karn Sharma to Jonny Bairstow. Leg spinner half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs.
Deepak Hooda has thrown it away here. Goes for glory and tries to finish off the game with a six. However, doesn't get the required power behind the shot and holes out to du Plessis in the deep.
16.4 OUT! Caught. Karn Sharma to Deepak Hooda. Leg spinner length ball, middle stump down the track driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to long off, by du Plessis.
16.3 FOUR! Karn Sharma to Deepak Hooda. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump down the track driving, well timed in the air under control past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Picked up and dumped over cover. Hooda is wanting to finish it in this over.
A misfield from Raina allows SRH to chip off another two runs off the target.
16.2 Karn Sharma to Deepak Hooda. Leg spinner length ball, to leg on the front foot driving, to deep extra cover for 2 runs, mis-fielded by Raina, fielded by du Plessis.
16.1 Karn Sharma to Jonny Bairstow. Leg spinner length ball, middle stump on the front foot slog sweeping, in the air under control to deep mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Jadeja.
Hyderabad now requires less than 10 runs to seal the game as we head into an inconsequential time-out.

15.6 Shardul Thakur to Jonny Bairstow. Slower ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Steer, to third man for 1 run, fielded by Rayudu.
15.5 Shardul Thakur to Deepak Hooda. Length ball, outside off stump moves in front working, to mid on for 1 run, fielded by Sharma.
SRH are doing it wisely here. They aren't taking any risks and are just knocking it around for singles to accomplish the job.
15.4 Shardul Thakur to Jonny Bairstow. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to long on for 1 run, fielded by Sharma.
15.4 Wide Shardul Thakur to Jonny Bairstow. Length ball, wide outside off stump on the back foot Leave, Left to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Billings.
15.3 Shardul Thakur to Deepak Hooda. Back of a length, outside off stump on the front foot Steer, to backward point for 1 run, fielded by Jadeja.
15.2 Shardul Thakur to Jonny Bairstow. Back of a length, outside off stump on the front foot pulling, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to mid wicket for 1 run, dropped catch by Watson, fielded by Sharma.

15.1 Shardul Thakur to Deepak Hooda. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, to deep square leg for 1 run, fielded by Jadhav.
50 for Bairstow. Top knock this from the English wicketkeeper-batsman. Has held the innings together after Warner's departure to make the road an easy one for the hosts.
