Sussex 149/5 in 19.5 overs Tom Alsop 51*(42) | Sunil Narine 2/18 Michael Burgess 48(28) | Daniel Worrall 2/36
What an unbelievable nail biting finish we've had here and Sussex have emerged victorious under difficult circumstances! Tom Alsop played an absolute gem of an innings under pressure and held on to his nerves! He scored an unbeaten 50 to take his side home! However it was the wicket keeper batsman Michael Burgess who played a belligerent knock of 48 of just 28 balls to bring Sussex back into the game after they were reeling at 64/4 in 12 overs. Earlier on Ali Orr had gotten off to a good start but he threw it away after getting to a brisk 24.
The Surrey bowlers started off really well initially with the spinners Will Jacks and Sunil Narine putting a stranglehold on the batters! They had pegged them on the backfoot for the major part of the game, however, once Sussex got a partnership going, it proved to be the turning point in the game as they failed to get the wicket! Daniel Worrall picked up two wickets but he was really expensive and his two overs may have cost them the game. Sunil Narine was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 2 wickets in his miserly spell.
Overall, this has been a brilliant game of cricket and it will be Surrey who will be the more disappointed of the two sides as they had this game in their grasp but they let it slip away from them! The 16th over where 19 runs had come, proved to be the real difference in a low scoring encounter.
19.5 Thomas Lawes to Tom Alsop, that's it! Alsop does the finishing touch! Short ball angling in, pulls it away to deep mid-wicket
What a shot under pressure from Alsop to bring up his 50! It was too full and he launched it over the top of the bowler for a boundary! This game is Sussex's now!
19.4 Thomas Lawes to Tom Alsop, FOUR! Scores are level! And it's a FIFTY for Alsop! What a knock this has been. Full, but not full enough. Alsop hits it straight back over the bowler's head, one bounce into the fence
19.3 Thomas Lawes to James Coles, short of a length without much width. Slaps it straight to covers
19.2 Thomas Lawes to Tom Alsop, full ball wide of the off-stump. Alsop drills it through extra cover. The fielder in the deep gets around but it's not a clean pick up in the end. The batters manage to get back for the third
19.1 Thomas Lawes to James Coles, low full toss on the stumps. Plonks it to covers and takes one
Thomas Lawes [3.0-0-22-1] comes back into the attack.
Sam Curran will be considering himself really unlucky there as an lbw shout was turned down against him! We're going into the final over with 10 runs needed for the batting side! This game has been an absolute roller coaster.

18.6 Sam Curran to James Coles, makes room but ends up miscuing it to deep mid-wicket. Just a single in the end
18.5 Sam Curran to James Coles, sharp bumper! Coles swings but makes no contact. Excellent bouncer from Curran
18.4 Sam Curran to Tom Alsop, close! Curran goes up in celebr-appeal only to be disappointed by the umpire. Full and straight on the stumps. Hits him on the boot right in front. The umpire reckons he has got an inside edge there
18.3 Sam Curran to Tom Alsop, slower ball on a length around the off-stump. Off the inside half of the bat to cow corner. They scamper back for the second
18.2 Sam Curran to James Coles, full ball on middle and leg. Eases it down to long-on for a single
18.1 Sam Curran to Tom Alsop, full and straight on the off-stump. Hits it to mid-off and scampers through. A direct hit would have had him there
Sam Curran [3.0-0-18-0] comes back into the attack.
What an eventful over that was from Worrall! He went for a couple of sixes as both Alsop and Burgess took him to the cleaners but he came back really well to redeem himself with the wicket of Burgess in the final ball of the over! We're headed for a thrilling finish here

17.6 Daniel Worrall to Michael Burgess, OUT! Worrall gets his man! Do we have another twist here? Low full toss outside off. Burgess tries to slice it but gets the outside edge that flies away to short thirdman. Good sharp catch
Michael Burgess c Nathan Barnwell b Daniel Worrall 48(28b, 5x4, 2x6)
17.5 Daniel Worrall to Michael Burgess, SIX! My word! That is out of here! In the slot, takes his front leg away, and hits it straight back over long-on. That's a huge one!
