Alex Hales was named the Player of the Match for his sublime knock of 71 runs in 29 balls!
Sydney Thunder win this match comfortably by 75 runs!

The Stars coming to chase had a start they were looking for as Andre Fletcher and Marcus Stoinis opened the batting for them. Andre provided the start and got the boundary, Stoinis who struggled at the start flourished as the innings progressed!

The Thunder introduced the spinners and Stoinis lost his wicket after getting the start of 27 runs. Andre the specimen departed soon after. The Stars were on the backfoot as Hilton Cartwright depart soon as well.

The hopes of Stars chasing this total then rested on last match hero Nicholas Pooran and their captain Glenn Maxwell. Pooran after hammer away a maximum crumbled under the pressure of balls and lost his wicket.

The onus of scoring the runs was upon Maxwell. Nic Maaddinson hung around but lost his wicket as well. He just chipped one on to his stumps. It was becoming quite an uphill task for Stars as the required run rate crept up to over 18 RPO!

Maxwell finally gave in on the pressure that was building up. He departed after scoring 23 runs off 21 balls. Later on, Ben Dunk the X-Factor substitute for the Stars put on a show as he thumped Chris Green for 3 maximums in a row!

His quickfire 21 runs knock came to an end as he tried to hit a maximum one too many times and lost his wicket to Chris Green. Green registers a 4 wicket hall for the day. Adam towards the end provided some resistance. Zampa finally perished in the final over as he registered his highest score of 23 runs in BBL!
Stars are all out and they now have faced their worst defeat in the BBL history! Zampa looks to make the most and collect the boundaries but finally lost his wicket.

Stanlake sacrifices his wicket in trying to get Zampa back on strike!

Zahir Khan comes out to the crease for Stars!
19.3 Chris Tremain to Adam Zampa, out! Stanlake Run Out! Yes and no between the two batsmen and Stanlake is nowhere near the picture as he tried to get back in.

19.1 Chris Tremain to Adam Zampa, pitched up, Zampa drags it straight to the fielder in the covers.
A tidy penultimate over from Sams, Zampa looks to get on to the top of the balls on few occasions but misses to make the most of it. Thunders with this win will now jump up to 2nd spot just below Sixers.
