Venezia beat Trentino Aquila by 7 wickets

It was always going to be a walk in the park for the mighty batting line up of Venezia and that exactly is what transpired in the middle. The massive gap between the skills sets of the two teams was evidently on display and Venezia showed why they are being touted as the potential finalists of the Venice leg of ECS. They absolutely steamrolled Trentino in all three departments of the game today.

The chase was off to a modest start, by Hosan Ahmed and Nazmul Haque's high standards. However, they quickly gauged the conditions and started playing their shots. Punishing anything that was pitched short and being extremely aggressive on anything that was overpitched in their arc. Zeeshan Javaid Muhammad was the first casualty of their demolition job as he went for 27 runs in the only over he bowled as skipper Ali Arshad did not give him the ball for any comeback over.

Atif Saleem Raza, Sadaqat Ali and Ali Arshad, all tried rolling their arms in an attempt to purchase the wicket but the two batsmen were far too good for the class of them. Just when it looked like the game would be over by the sixth over, Awais Asghar turned up and picked two quick wickets in his over. However, those two wickets were a minor blip in Venezia's perfectly timed chase as Ahmed and Shagar took their team to the victory shores.

Hosan Ahmed carried his bat through with a 31 ball 61 runs inning as he murdered the Trentino bowlers to all parts of the park. However, the man of the match will undoubtedly be Miah Alamin who picked up six wickets in the first innings and completely bamboozled the timid Trentino batsmen.

So that's it from our side, this is Abhinav Singh and my partner Maanas Uppadhyay signing. Until next time, stay safe, stay indoors and keep washing your hands and using a mask. Goodnight! STAY GOLD!
7.3 Awais Asghar to Hosan Ahmed, FOUR! SHOT! Full ball on the middle stump swinging in, Ahmed gets his front foot out of the way as he whips that through the mid-wicket region for a boundary! That will wrap p proceedings as Venezia beat Trentino Aquila by 7 wickets!
7.2 Awais Asghar to Hosan Ahmed, OUT! RUN-OUT! Full toss on the off stump, slapped down to long on and Ahmed denies the single at the last moment. Alamin is stranded mid-crease and the bowler collects the throw and whips off the bails
7.1 Awais Asghar to Miah Alamin, length ball on the off stump, Alamin looks to drive it but gets the inside-edge towards mid-wicket for a single
Awais Asghar [1-0-7-0] to bowl his final over

Only the formalities left as Venezia need 3 runs in the remaining 3 overs. Trentino will take solace from the fact that the game got into the eight over at least, otherwise, it could very well have been finished two overs earlier, thereby making a serious dent on their net run rate
Over: 7 | Summary: 0 4 2 1 0 1 Bowler: Sadaqat Ali Score: 89/2
6.6 Sadaqat Ali to Miah Alamin, back of a length ball outside off, Alamin gets onto his toes and upper-cuts it towards third man for a single
6.5 Sadaqat Ali to Miah Alamin, no run, full ball on the middle stump angling in, Alamin watchfully pushes it back to the bowler.
6.4 Sadaqat Ali to Hosan Ahmed, length ball outside off, Ahmed slaps that powerfully down to long off for a single
6.3 Sadaqat Ali to Hosan Ahmed, back of a length ball on the body, pulled towards deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs. The ball fails to trickle over the boundary ropes as the fielder mops it up in a leisurely fashion
6.2 Sadaqat Ali to Hosan Ahmed, FOUR! SHOT! Length ball outside off, Ahmed throws his bat at that. Gets the toe-end of the bat that flies just over the outstretched palm of the leaping third man fielder for a boundary! In the single digits now! 7 runs required in 22 balls
6.1 Sadaqat Ali to Hosan Ahmed, no run, length ball outside off swinging in, Ahmed looks to cut it through the point region but fails to get bat on ball
Star with the ball Miah Alamin walks out to bat at no. 4 while Sadaqat Ali [1-0-12-0] steams in to bowl his final over

A little something called consolation wickets for Trentino and Asghar. However, the game is already a million miles away from their reach and could very well be over in the next over itself. A sorry performance from the bowlers as they failed to turn up. 11 runs required in remaining 24 deliveries
Over: 6 | Summary: 1 W 1lb 1 4 W Bowler: Awais Asghar Score: 81/2
5.6 Awais Asghar to Mahmudul Islam, OUT! CAUGHT! Oh dear! He has guided it straight into the hands of the fielder at backward point! Length ball outside off swinging away, Islam looks to run it down to third man. Gets the top edge and the backward point fielder swallows it
5.5 Awais Asghar to Mahmudul Islam, FOUR! SHOT! Islam joins in on the action as well! Length ball on the middle stump angling in, Islam holds his ground and flicks that away over the mid-wicket region for a boundary!
5.4 Awais Asghar to Hosan Ahmed, length ball on the off stump, Ahmed pushes it watchfully down to long on and will bring up his half-century with that!
5.3 Awais Asghar to Mahmudul Islam, length ball on the body, raps the batsman on the thigh pad and deflects down to long leg as the batsmen take a single.
A tame dismissal for skipper Nazmul Haque in the end. Meanwhile, Mahmudul Islam walks out to bat at no. 3 to apply the finishing touches
5.2 Awais Asghar to Nazmul Haque, OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Length ball outside off swinging away, Haque looks to poke it into the off side but does not negotiate the swing. The ball kisses the outside edge and goes onto rest into the keeper's gloves!
