Imran Tahir. It was a fantastic game and really happy to be on the winning side. We had a plan and executed it well. Ayub is a talented kid and that's why we got him and I have seen him play before. He's been scoring 30s and 40s. It's good to see that he played a big knock. All in all it's a great team performance and I want thank the Guyana fans, who came here and supported us
Kieron Pollard - We try differnt things. Akeal is a left-hander and we all know about my capability. One defeat doesn't concern me and we batted really well. Nothing is a concern at the moment, we are playing good cricket. We are going to come back tomorrow strong. There is no time to cry as our schedule is hectic. For us, it's all about understanding where we went wrong and we will come back strong in the next 24 hours
Saim Ayub (Man of the Match). I am enjoying it because the team environment is very friendly. I just try to enjoy every bit of my cricket. My team has a lot of belief in me and I have given everything in return. (On Shai Hope) He's an experienced guy and I learned a lot from him. He's been guiding me and that partnership proved very crucial
Guyana Amazon Warriors won by 6 wickets Saim Ayub 62(43) | Akeal Hosein 44 (35) Odean Smith 3-31(4) | Andre Russell 2-29 (3.1)
With another emphatic victory, the Warriors keep their unbeaten streak and are proving to be the team to beat in this tournament. It's a tricky chase considering the two-paced nature of this track. Hemraj failed to convert the start into a big score but the partnership between Hope and Ayub proved very crucial for the Warriors to come out on top.
Hope was riding his luck at the start and despite looking circumspect early on, Ayub relied on his timing and power to score the boundaries and sixes at regular intervals. The fielding errors and dropped catches from the Knight Riders didn't help the team's cause as they struggled to break the stand. Hope capitalised on the opportunities that were presented to him and started to build his innings, while Ayub got to his half-century and kept growing strong
Russell got him out in his second spell but Azam Khan didn't let the opposition take any control as he took the bowlers on right from the word go. Hope's luck ran out as he was dismissed by Ali Khan but Azam's entertaining cameo was good enough for the Warriors to secure a win in the end
19.1 Andre Russell to Azam Khan, SIX! AN NONCHALANT STIKE TO SEAL THINGS OFF IN STYLE. Pitched up and the yorker was missed by a big margin. Azam holds his shape and lofts it straight down the ground and the ball goes 20 rows back
Can Russell be a hero?
