Uttar Pradesh 280/7 (50 ov)
Delhi 234/10 (48.1 ov)
Uttar Pradesh won by 46 runs.
Player of the match: Upendra Yadav
Karan Sharma (Winning Captain, Uttar Pradesh) : We were looking to bat first. We saw the other two matches and the wicket went pretty much slow after the first innings. We were thinking around 290-295 but 280 was fine and our bowling was pretty good. They bowled pretty well and that is good for the team and we hope for the best.
Pradeep Sangwan (Losing Captain, Delhi) : We though it as a good batting wicket as it plays well in the second innings. Compared to the last game, our top four batsmen got out early that was a minus point for us.

(On good bowling from UP and lack of application from batsmen being the cause of defeat) Both factors. We played a few wrong shots at the start and definitely UP bowled really well. Even their spinners in the middle and their fast bowlers got them early breakthroughs.

We got to learn a lot. Few youngsters came into the team and did well. Some of the guys performing consistently did well too. We will obviously plan for the next year as this season has gone good for us.
Uttar Pradesh then entering the semi-finals after a clinical victory against Delhi and this win will give them a lot of confidence going into the semi-finals. UP came back really well from one stage to first get to that total of 280, putting runs on the board in a knock-out game and that put pressure on Delhi right-away. Delhi needed to start well with the chase which they failed to as Yash Dayal picked up two early wickets at the top to push them back as he and Mavi bowled well in tandem upfront with the ball swinging nicely at the top. The top order failure for Delhi as the bowlers kept the pressure on even in the middle overs that forced the batsmen to play some loose shots and end up throwing their wickets away.

The partnership between Anuj Rawat and Lalit Yadav that kept Delhi in the hunt, gave them some hope but they could never really get the runs at the rate at which they were required. A solid hundred-run stand no doubt but just not good enough to take them close to the target as they left too much to do in the end, and like most often, they failed to get there with wickets falling and the required rate climbing up all the while.

A brilliant bowling performance from UP as all the bowlers did well in an all-round effort. Yash Dayal with three wickets being the pick of the bowlers. Couple of wickets for Aaqib and Akshdeep as well. Shivam Sharma and Sameer Choudhary the two spinners as well keeping it tight in those middle overs as they were miserly building the pressure on the batsmen all the way through. Shivam Mavi bowled equally well too, unfortunate that he could not finish his spell but a terrific show with the ball. Also not to forget their tight fielding that really complimented the bowlers in building that pressure.

UP clearly being the better side today as they outplayed Delhi, who were favorites coming into this contest. A massive win for them as they progress ahead and going in with this sort of a performance against a side like Delhi will only give them more confidence. That brings the end to the quarter-final stages of the tournament as well. The two semi-final battles then being Gujarat vs Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka vs Mumbai! We will be back for all the action and for now, it's goodbye from myself (Rishab) and Pratyush as we leave you with the post-match quotes. Stay tuned for the semi-finals on Thursday!
And that's the end of this game then! Two wickets for Akshdeep as UP beat Delhi by 46 runs to enter the Semi-finals, where they join Gujarat, Karnataka and Mumbai, playing Gujarat in their Semi-final!
Over: 49 | Summary: W Bowler: Akshdeep Nath Score: 0/0
48.1 Akshdeep Nath to Simarjeet Singh, BOWLED HIM! Uttar Pradesh get the victory and seal their spot in the semis! A touch short on off stump, Singh attempts a pull shot across and misses the ball, as it crashes into the off stump! Magnificent victory for Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh win by 46 runs.
The bowlers trying to bowl the slower balls now and they should be rather looking to bowl on the stumps and straight to the tail-enders! Not really required to do a lot at this stage. Kulwant Khejroliya slashing one to the fence as well then as Delhi survive another over here. UP on the course of a big win and an entry into the semi-finals! 47 off 12 needed.

47.1 Yash Dayal to Kulwant Khejroliya, back of a length slower delivery on off stump, Kulwant sets up for the heave but ends up dabbing it to extra cover
UP in search of that final wicket now and they will want to get done with this quickly now. Slower deliveries from Aaqib Khan trying to get that final wicket. All singles off the over and that is not going to help Delhi in any way. Got in that yorker as well but the batsmen managing to play through the over! 54 off 18 needed
