Right! That's it from us here at Sportskeeda! Do join us for the 2nd T20I tomorrow as the West Indies look to restore parity in the series.

Till then, this is Shashwat Kumar signing off. Goodbye and good night!
Kohli: "Our bowling and fielding was right up there. It was a sluggish pitch and the bowlers were on top. Our effort in the field was very good. Saini has come a long way since he started playing first-class cricket and he had a wonderful season with RCB in the IPL. He is really fast, fit and hungry to perform. We lost a couple of wickets more than we would have liked but that's how the pitch was. The new ball was coming on decently but as the ball got older, it became tougher to play our strokes. We want to put in a solid performance tomorrow as well and we are looking forward to that aspect."
Navdeep Saini is the Player of the Match!
Brathwaite: "I don't think we assessed conditions well. Kudos to Kieron for the way he played. We showed a lot of heart in the field and it was a case of poor assessment from us that we batted ourselves out of the game. The method would be to continue with the intent but we also need to be smarter with our shot selection. Sunil's four overs are very important. He brought us back into the game."
Time for the Presentation Ceremony! Let's hear what the captains have to say!
India go 1-0 up in the 3-match series!
The Indians got off to a brisk start and controlled the game thereafter. Their bowlers put in an accomplished display, picking up wickets at regular intervals and not allowing the West Indian batsmen to get into a rhythm. However, the hosts played into India's hands massively courtesy some average shot selection. Inevitably, the West Indians folded for a rather paltry total of 95.

Yet, the home side punched above their weight in the second innings and ensured the match stretched till the 18th over, a prospect that seemed unimaginable at the break. Rohit top scored for the Indians with Pandey,  Kohli, Pandya and Jadeja chipping in. Though the Men In Blue endured a few hiccups in their pursuit of the target, they ultimately managed to allay those fears and secure victory.
And Washington seals the deal in Florida!
Paul bowls a length delivery on the stumps and Washington stands tall as he launches the ball over the fence to get India over the line. The visitors huffed and puffed a fair deal, but eventually came through.
17.2 SIX! Keemo Paul to Washington Sundar. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs.
17.1 Keemo Paul to Washington Sundar. Full toss, off stump on the front foot Steer, to gully for no runs, fielded by Powell.
And the Indian run chase stretches to another over. West Indies have done well to take the game so deep, despite having only 95 runs on the board. The Indians might want to introspect their shot selection, once the match culminates. A few of their batsmen have been guilty of making mistakes similar to the ones the West Indians committed.

Paul castles Pandya!
Paul bowls a length delivery from round the wicket and gets it to straighten off the surface. Pandya looks to work the ball along with the angle on the leg-side but is defeated by the movement. The ball hits the top of middle and off-stump and Pandya is sent packing, with just 8 runs required.
