Full time thoughts- Bengaluru only had one shot on target, but made it count. Sunil Chhetri had an off-day and so did Udanta. Hitesh and Ricky are unlucky to be on the losing side given their spirited performance. Balwant Singh is yet to find his scoring boots. We wonder if he can deliver in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup in case he gets selected.
94' That's it. The game finishes 1-0 in favor of Bengaluru FC. ATK had tons of opportunity to go ahead, but if it weren't for the mistimed runs of the strikers and profligacy of Balwant, they could have gone ahead.
92' MISS! Chhetri bamboozles the goalkeeper after doing a one-two with Dimas. The angle was extremely tight, but going by the standards of the captain, that should have gone in.
90' 4 minutes added on. Can ATK get an equalizer in the four minutes?
89' Bengaluru FC make their last substitution.
OFF- Xisco Hernandez
ON- Chencho Gyeltshen
88' Noussair takes a free-kick towards Lanzarote whose header is off target.
87' OFFSIDE! This time it is Lanzarote. Bengaluru back-four doing their job well.
85' ATK are throwing the kitchen sink as Arindam is playing sweeper keeper. But, ATK are fumbling in the attacking third.
83' ATK with the third substitution. Andre Bikey not happy with the way the match is progressing particularly with some refereeing decisions. He crushed a bottle that was given to him after being taken off and whipped it to the floor.
OFF- Andre Bikey
ON- El Maimouni Noussair
82' Komal Thatal gets his first shot, but is off target from the outside of the box.
81' OFFSIDE! Eli Babalj is caught offside thrice in six minutes. Time your run, Aussie.
78' OFFSIDE! Eli Babalj again flagged offside but, the replays shows Serran played him on. It is Juanan who saves him eventually before the assistant raises his flag.
77' ATK again with the direct approach and, its the substitute Eli Babalj who is offside this time. That's the story in the second half for ATK with different players.
75' A change each from Bengaluru FC and ATK.
OFF- Rino Anto
ON- Gursimrat Singh

OFF- Everton Santos
ON- Eli Babalj
74' MISS! End-to-end action here at Kanteerava. Ankit with a long ball towards Everton Santos. He is one-on-one with Gurpreet, but the shot from the hand-shaking distance flies across the crossbar.
73' MISS! Xisco gives a brilliant through ball towards Udanta Singh. He outmuscles Ricky, but the eventual shot is off-target.
71' ATK make their first substitution.
OFF- Balwant Singh
ON- Komal Thatal
70' MISS! Xisco tries to hit a longe-ranger as no one is closing down. But, the shot is off-target.
67' MISS! John Johnson with a brilliant through ball all the way toward Balwant Singh. Gurpreet closed him down, but he could still have angled the ball. But, the Indian International fails to hit the target.
66' Balwant again caught offside! But, the replays show it was a close one. Balwant himself has been caught offside four times in the game.
65' OFFSIDE! Hitesh again with a brilliant pass towards Everton, but he is again offside. This has been the fourth time in the half.
63' OFFSIDE! Balwant Singh is again caught offside as Hitesh squares it towards him. The replays suggest he was marginally on thanks to Rahul Bheke.
61' MISS! Hitesh feeds a brilliant through ball towards Balwant Singh. All he had to do was pick out Lanzarote, but he gives it straight towards Gurpreet
60' ATK have organised themselves beautifully and BFC are finding it tough to penetrate through them.
57' MISS! How did Balwant miss that? Lanza's free-kick finds Balwant one-on-one with Gurpreet from the penalty spot. All he had to do was volley it past him as all the defenders were caught ball watching.
56' FOUL! ATK win a free-kick in a dangerous position as Dimas Delgado pulls down Hitesh Sharma.
55' OFFSIDE! Gurpreet with a long ball towards Chhetri. The captain's eventual shot gazes the side-netting. The replays show he was just marginally offside.
52' Xisco receives treatment as he is down thanks to an elbow from John Johnson. Not a good way to behave with your former teammates, John.
51' OFFSIDE! Everton Santos is offside as Ricky tries to play him through. The replays show he was marginally onside, though.
48' Gurpreet fists away Lanza's eighth corner. Jayesh tries another piledriver from 30-yards out but Gurpreet catches it safely.
47' BLOCK! Serran blocks Balwant's shot. The ball goes out for a corner.
45' The second half kicks off in the Kanteerava stadium. ATK cannot afford to drop points in this game.
Bhekenbauer for India, BFC fans say
Halftime thoughts- Ricky Lallawmawma is doing his job perfectly on the left-back position. Whenever BFC tried to go through their right wing, they fumbled.

Rahul Bheke again showed his versatlity as he switched his position from the left-back to right-back in the middle of the game.

Bengaluru have dominated the possession 57%-43%. ATK has won 7 corners whereas Bengaluru are yet to find one.

A 'False No. 9' played by Bengaluru with Xisco, Sunil Chhetri, and Erik Paartalu shuffling the positions.

ATK is lucky that the referee didn't award two penalties against them as Bikey and Ricky handled down the ball inside their own box.
47' Gurpreet fists away the corner. And, that's it. Half-time here in Kanteerava as the home side is in the lead.
47' ATK with a corner as Jayesh's shot is blocked away by Kean Lewis.
45' TWO MINUTES ADDED ON! Can ATK get an equalizer?
45' Bengaluru are playing the ball among themselves as they look forward to see the half out.
43' The goal has shaken the confidence of ATK players. They are fumbling in the attacking third and Bengaluru are growing into the game.
42' ATK with another corner as Erik Paartalu heads it away. The second corner is way flat!
40' CORNER! ATK with another corner as Rahul Bheke mispasses the ball towards Gurpreet.
37' GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL! Good shift in play from Bengaluru FC there. The move starts at the right wing. Udanta to Xisco, who is at the centre of the park. The quick change in the flank happened through Rahul Bheke, who receives it from Xisco and plays it to Kean Lewis on the left before that cross. Erik Paartalu glides the header at the back of the net, slicing between John Johnson and Andre Bikey. It's Bengaluru 1-0 ATK
37' SKILL! Rahul Bheke taking the ball all the way from the defense to the center of the park. The crowd singing " Are you watching Constantine?"
35' And Rino Anto's first contribution into the game is a foul on Balwant Singh. A needless one, to say the least.
34' Bengaluru with the first substituion. Rahul Bheke moves to the left back and Rino Anto will slot into the right back position.
OFF- Nishu Kumar
ON- Rino Anto
32' Nishu Kumar going off. A possible substitution for BFC in the first half?
31' ALMOST AN OWN GOAL! Ankit Mukherjee's cross from the overlap is headed out by Erik Paartalu. Could have gone either away as he was facing goalwards.
29' WASTE! Ankit Mukherjee with a wasteful cross on the overlap. Bucke up, young lad.
27' The corner is too flat. Ricky does a brilliant job to thwart the BFC counter.
26' Nishu Kumar receiving treatment as Ankit Mukherjee lunged a perfect sliding tackle against him.
25' CORNER! ATK with another corner. Can Lanza provide the assist this time?
24' OFFSIDE! Balwant Singh is offside as Lanza tries to set him through.
22' The tempo of the game is slowing down thanks to the fouls from both the sides. 'Bheke for India' reverberating in the crowd.
19' SAVE! Gurpreet positions himself perfectly to hold a piledriver from 30-yards out.
18' Bengaluru's Albert Serran gets a yellow card for the earlier foul.
18' Lanza with a free kick and hits the wall for a corner.
17' Another handball missed! Kean Lewis with a cross from the left wing and the ball hits Ricky's arm. Two penalties evaded by ATK.
15' Straight in the wall. The shot hit Bikey's hand but the action was too fast that it misses everyone's attention. ATK evade a potential penalty.
13' Manuel Lanzarote gets a yellow card for protesting.
13' FREE KICK! Chhetri fouled and Bengaluru get a free kick in a dangerous position. There was contact but not so much for Chhetri to fall.
12' Paartalu with an ambitious effort and the shot sails above the crossbar. The rhythm is set. Bengaluru will attack down the wings and ATK will attack centrally.
8' BLOCK! Ankit Mukherjee blocks Kean Lewis' attempt to go past him. The young lad is growing up in the game slowly.
6' BLOCK! Bheke with a brilliant block off Jayesh Rane's cross. Bengaluru on the backfoot in their own fortress!
3' CHANCE! Xisco beats Ankit on the wing and lays it on for Chhetri. The Bengaluru FC captain's shot is off the target, however. Told you so, BFC will exploit Ankit
2' What a waste of the second corner-kick! Come on ATK, buckle up!
1' Another corner for ATK as Gurpreet plays it safe.
1' KICKOFF... And, ATK have a corner right away.
A "Bhekenbauer" banner on the West Block Blues stand can be seen as they protest against Rahul Bheke's exclusion from the 2019 AFC Asian Cup probable squad for India.
It's the National Anthem time as both ATK and Bengaluru FC come out of the tunnel. Bengaluru are wearing their traditional Blues. ATK, too, in their traditional Red and Whites. Meanwhile, Sunil Chhetri trying to protect himself from the fireworks.
The Bengaluru fans have flocked the stadium. Harmanjot Singh Khabra and Chencho's family are the notable ones among the lot. Will they leave the stadium with the same joy they entered? Or, will they put their head above their hand in despair as the travelling away fans rejoice?
Bengaluru FC might be pin-pointing the young and naive Ankit Mukherjee in the right-back position. Chennaiyin FC scored two goals and most of their attacks came through the wings. Expect Bengaluru FC to do the same with Kean Lewis and Udanta Singh crossing the ball and Sunil Chhetri heading it in.
Interesting! No Pronay Halder. He is not even on the bench. According to the reports, he was deemed fit to play the match. Gerson Viera would be pairing up with Everton Santos at the heart of the midfield to stop the creativity of Bengaluru FC midfielders.
Kean Lewis gets his first start for Bengaluru FC as he replaces the suspended Harmanjot Singh Khabra. Chencho Gyeltshen has been relegated to the bench as the Spaniard Xisco Hernandez replaces him.
ATK, on the other hand, has fielded an unchanged side to the one that held Northeast United 0-0.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the live coverage of the Hero ISL match between Bengaluru FC and ATK. I am Abhishek Kundu and, I will accompany you throughout the match. The lineups should be out in any moment.
What will be the consequences of the result in the points table?

A win for Bengaluru FC will further consolidate their position at the top. They would have 27 points from 11 matches, six points ahead of the pack. ATK, on the other hand, will have 16 points from 12 matches, three points behind fourth-placed Jamshedpur FC.

A draw will not be of any help to either of the sides. It would be the third consecutive draw for Bengaluru FC and hurt their rhythm immensely. ATK will stay on the sixth position due to an inferior goal difference against FC Goa.

If Bengaluru FC loses this match and Mumbai City FC wins their next match against Kerala Blasters on 16th of December, they would be level on points with the Blues. ATK, on the other hand, will climb one spot on the table, only behind Jamshedpur FC on goal difference.
ATK coach Steve Coppell, too, was wary about the attacking and defensive prowess of Bengaluru FC. "Tough game, it's an obvious answer and it is the right answer. BFC have not been beaten this season and that's not an accident - that is because they are a very strong team; defensively tough to get at and in the attacking sense, they have a lot of dangerous players," said the former Jamshedpur FC gaffer.

Bengaluru FC coach Carles Cuadrat seemed extremely respectful of the opposition in the pre-match press conference. This is what he told Sportskeeda, "Very tough game because they will need the points. They want to be in the playoffs and for them, victory is very important. They have a very tough defensive line and they play with a two-man forward line. They have an inspiration in attack from [Manuel] Lanzarote."

Some worrying stats for ATK fans:

ATK needs to be wary about Udanta Singh's prolific striking form as he has scored thrice in the last four games. Moreover, he has scored from his left foot, right foot and head. The Flash has an average of 1.9 cross and 1.2 shots per match this season.

ATK is the only side in the league to hit less than 100 shots. Tied with Delhi Dynamos on the number of goals scored, they have found the back of the net least number of times. They would be up against Bengaluru FC who have let in the least number of goals this season.
In the previous encounter between the two sides, Bengaluru FC came on top with a 2-1 win from behind. Komal Thatal became the youngest goal-scorer in the ISL history after unleashing a grounder at the 15th minute. Miku equalized for the visitors at the dying embers of the first half by curling his shot above the wall from a free kick.
Bengaluru FC got ahead at the opening minute of the second half thanks to Erik Paartalu. ATK defenders failed to clear a free kick, and the Aussie latched onto the rebound to find the back of the net. ATK pushed men forward but, the scoreline remained in favor of Bengaluru FC at the full-time whistle.
Some worrying stats for Bengaluru FC fans:

The shot accuracy and goal conversion rate have dwindled for Bengaluru FC after Miku's injury. Earlier, it was 38.46 and 19.23 percent respectively, now it is only 29.63 and 8.64 percent.

ATK has kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 matches. Although Bengaluru FC has scored in each of their previous ISL encounters, the defensive pairing of John Johnson and Andre Bikey will be a hard nut to crack.
Key battles for fans to watch out:

Udanta Singh vs. Ricky Lallawmawma: Udanta Singh is in the form of his line, scoring in each of Bengaluru FC's last three appearances. Ricky Lallawmawma will be handling the task to contain him in the right wing. The left-back has 33 tackles, 21 interceptions, 44 clearances, and 18 blocks from 10 matches.

Sunil Chhetri vs. Ankit Mukherjee: Captain Fantastic is slightly off-colors since Miku's injury. He can regain his form today as the naive Ankit Mukherjee would be up against him. The youngster only has 5 blocks, 7 clearances, and 8 interceptions from 5 matches.

Dimas Delgado vs. Pronay Halder: Indian international Pronay Halder should be back in the squad after missing out the previous game due to a nose injury. Dimas is the architect of Bengaluru's most of the attacks, and Pronay will be doing the dirty task to halt his creativity.
Probable XI:

Bengaluru FC: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (GK), Rahul Bheke, Albert Serran, Juanan, Nishu Kumar, Eric Paartalu, Dimas Delgado, Xisco Hernandez, Udanta Singh, Semboi Haokip, Sunil Chhetri

ATK: Arindam Bhattacharja (GK), Ankit Mukherjee, John Johnson, Andre Bikey, Ricky Lallawmawma, Gerson Vieira, Pronay Halder, Jayesh Rane, Manuel Lanzarote, Everton Santos, Balwant Singh
Bengaluru FC v ATK preview:

No team has dominated the Indian Super League (ISL) quite like Bengaluru FC but their status as the best club in the country was put into question by NorthEast United and Mumbai City FC in the last week.

After two 1-1 draws against the other top-four contenders, BFC lock horns with another club that wants to challenge for a top-four spot, ATK, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Thursday evening.

For both sides, this will be their last game before the league breaks for the AFC Asian Cup 2019. ATK come off a dull 0-0 draw with NorthEast United, while BFC were held 1-1 by Mumbai in a thrilling encounter on Sunday.

Eight points separate the two sides on the table with ATK placed sixth on 16 points. A win will move them momentarily up to the fourth spot on the table above FC Goa but the Gaurs have a game in hand.

Three points for BFC will take their tally to 27, extending their lead over second-placed Mumbai by six points.

However, the defensively solid ATK are not easy to break down. Last time these two sides met, BFC rallied from a goal down to win 2-1. Miku and Erik Paartalu scored on either side of the break for the Blues in Kolkata.

This time, Miku won't be there in the BFC dugout as he's out with an injury until February.

Coach Carles Cuadrat feels that the Blues can get the job done even without Miku as they have a quality set of players. "We played five games with Miku, and five games without Miku. In the first five games, we got 13 points and the next five, we got 11. It's not a big difference and these players are playing well," the coach said before the game.

"Maybe this break in December and January will give us time to get Miku back," Cuadrat added.

ATK will rely on the brilliance of midfielder Manuel Lanzarote to support the attack. Defender John Johnson, a former BFC player, looks solid playing with Andre Bikey in the central defence.

It's the attack that is most worrying for ATK as the pair of Everton Santos and Balwant Singh have not fired for Steve Coppell as expected.

Let's see if BFC can make most of their attack-shy opponents on Thursday.
