M. Komorski (OG) 14'
C. Gyeltshen 71'
60' F. Gallego
94' PEEEP! PEEEEEP! PEEEEP! The full-time whistle comes off as a music to the BFC supporters. All thanks to their goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu who made a staggering 10 saves. BFC didn't let their defeat to MCFC affect their performance today and get the vital three points. It's finished BFC 2-1 NEUFC at the Shree Kanteerava. Here is me, Abhishek Kundu, signing off. Do login to Sportskeeda to get the latest updates on ISL and Indian Football.
94' SAVE! Once again a save by Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. Triadis with a brilliant long-range effort from outside the box. But, Gurpreet is spot on with his positioning and collects it comfortably.
93' SAVE! What a save by Gurpreet! Mascia gets a wonderful first time volley that was going in the top corner. But, the Wall for today makes a fingertip save to deny the equalizer.
92' FOUL! Juan Mascia is pulled down by Dimas. What can NEUFC make out from this set-piece?
91' NEUFC overcooking in the final third as the BFC defenders see out the danger once again with their collective defending.
90' 4 Minutes added on. Can NEUFC salvage a late goal to pull off a draw?
88' Bengaluru FC make another substitution. And, there is the Bengaluru FC B player coming on.

OFF- Udanta Singh
ON- Edmund Lalrindika
86' SAVE! Juan Mascia rises the highest from a corner-kick variation. But, his header lacks pace and is collected comfortably by Gurpreet
84' NEUFC blazing all their guns but BFC have held their line tights and are looking dangerous on the counter. But, wayward passing has let their momentum down.
81' MISS! Pathetic delivery from Sunil Chhetri from a free-kick from just outside the penalty box. That's been the captain's day tonight at the Sree Kanteerava.
80' CHANCE! Udanta does the tough part of controlling Gurpreet's pass and runs down the wing. All he had to do was pass it toward Chhetri but his pass is completely wayward.
79' A double substitution being made for Northeast United FC

OFF- Robert Lalthlamuana
OFF- Jose Leudo

ON- Keegan Pereira
ON- Juan Mascia
77' SAVE! Gurpreet with another top-notch save. Gallego feeds the ball toward Ogbeche but Gurpreet closes down the angle brilliantly. Either way, the flag had gone up.
76' Bengaluru FC have gone full defense. Let's see if NEUFC can break the defense now. They are defending with a back-five now.
71' GOOOAAAAAALLLLL! It is Chencho who scores against NEUFC again. Rahul Bheke with a long throw in and Juanan flicks it with his head. No one marks the Bhutanese and he rolls the ball across the line. Even if he didn't guide it in, it would have been Sunil Chhetri or Erik Paartalu who were left unmarked.
71' Another BFC youngster in the putch.

OFF- Rino Anto
ON- Gursimrat Singh
70' Bad blood traversing in the pitch. Everyone even the substitutes are on the catfight. Sunil Chhetri trying to play the peacemaker but no one is interested at all. Lucky for both sets of players that no card is shown.
68' SAVE! Gurpreet Singh Sandhu with back-to-back saves. First, it is Triadis. The latest signing breaks the offside trap and is one-on-one but Gurpreet makes himself tall and produces a save. Ogbeche tries to slot it home on the rebound but it falls safely on the hands of Gurpreet.
64' SHOT ON TARGET! Ogbeche outruns Serran and is one-one with Gurpreet. However, the Bengaluru FC custodian parries away the danger with his left foot.
63' BLOCK! Erik Paartalu had a clear sight in goal from outside the box. The Aussie tries to venture forward but Mato Grgic with a brilliant sliding tackle.
61' One of Carles Cuadrat's staff is sent off for constantly agitating with Eelco Schattorie.
60' GOAAAALLLLLLLL! Frederico Gallego levels things up for Northeast United FC. Serran was receiving treatment and Erik Paartalu played in the center-back. Gallego pierces between the two after connecting Triadis's long ball with his marauding run and slots it home past Gurpreet.
56' Carles Cuadrat and Eelco Schattorie have a battle on the touchline as NEUFC play a free-kick when Albert Serran was down injured. Redeem Tlang broke on the counter but the ball was pushed out for a corner while Serran was still down.
The fourth official brokers peace.
54' Substitution for Bengaluru FC

OFF- Kean Lewis
ON- Chencho
52' PENALTY DENIED AGAIN? A brilliant long ball from Triadis and Ogbeche is through. Gurpreet pushes Ogbeche down but the referee thinks he got a touch to it and gives a corner to Northeast United FC. The replays confirm there was contact with the player and the ball.
51' Substitution for Northeast United FC

ON- Panagiotis Triadis
OFF- Mislav Komorski
49' HANDBALL NOT GIVEN! Khawlhring inswings a deadly corner which touches Khabra's hand. The replays confirm the same but the referee doesn't award the penalty. This will have huge repurcussions in the points table later.
47' CHANCE! Bengaluru FC get the first chance of the second half. Udanta sprints down the right wing and tries to find Chhetri. However, Rehenesh gets the ball first.
46' PEEP! The second half kicks off!
We have scintillating freestyling going on in the half-time. The fans in the home are only getting a glimpse of it but, the ones in the stadium must be having a treat!
46' PEEP! PEEP! There is the referee's whistle. Mislav Komorski's own goal separates the two sides as the teams head into the tunnel. It was an extremely well-taken training ground free-kick which had to go in eventually. If not from Mislav Komorski, then from somebody else. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda as we will be back with the live coverage of the second half.
45' 1 Minute added on! What can Northeast United get here?
45' Tempers exchanging here! Jose Leudo and Erik Paartalu are in the center of the action as the referee and other players separate him. The referee flashes a yellow card for Jose Leudo
43' OFFSIDE! Bengaluru FC capitalize on the counter and ball is with Rino Anto on the right wing. He tries to send Udanta through but the pass is slightly delayed.
42' OFFSIDE! And, this time, Ogbeche is offside. Lalthlamuana plays a long ball towards the Nigerian but he fails to keep in check his run.
40' MISS! Man, how did the referee miss that? Ogbeche is acres offside but the Nigerian fails to keep his shot on target. That would have created a lot of controversy if the ball had gone in.
38' SAVE! Poor aerial defending from Bengaluru FC again. Mato Grgic finds space to get a clear header from Gallego-corner kick but the powerful header is tipped away by the Gurpreet Singh Sandhu
37' SAVE! Northeast United FC take a quick free-kick and Ogbeche crosses it towards Redeem Tlang. He is one-on-one with Gurpreet but the 6'11 goalie gets a palm to it and the Highlanders have a corner.
33' MISS! Rahul Bheke with a brilliant throw-in and Erik Paartalu heads it toward Udanta Singh. The 22-year-old gives a pass toward Sunil Chhetri who just had to to tap it in with the entirety of the goal gaping at him. However, the captain fails to get a touch.
31' SAVE! Gurpreet comes to the rescue again with his perspicacious positioning. Khawlhring swings in a deadly cross and Gallego tries to change the trajectory of the path with his foot. However, Gurpreet reaches there a second before Ogbeche
29' WASTED! Bengaluru FC try another set-piece well rehearsed from the training ground but it comes to nothing this time.
29' FREE KICK! And, Bengaluru FC have another set piece just outside the penalty box. Komorski is shown a yellow card for his foul on Harmanjot Singh Khabra
28' SHOT! Rowllin Borges with an incisive pass towards full back Reagan Singh who made his overlapping run. The defender crosses in a dangerous cross and Ogbeche rises the highest this time. However, his shot is not on target.
25' SHOT! Komorski rises the highest to net in Redeem Tlang's cross but can't keep the shot on target.
24' The gameplan is laid. Northeast United FC trying to find Ogbeche either by lobbing long balls or by curling in crosses. Bengaluru FC, on the other hand, are trying to sit back deep and get another goal by exploiting the wings.
21' On the counter! Gurpreet Singh Sandhu gives an inch-perfect 110- yard pass towards Sunil Chhetri. However, the captain mispasses the ball towards Udanta Singh and Mato Grgic wins the ball for Northeast United FC.
20' BLOCK! Redeem Tlang tries to slide the ball through between the goalkeeper and defender. But, brave Juanan puts his body on the line to deny the goalscoring opportunity.
17' Harmanjot Singh Khabra has been given the free role to exploit any side of the pitch he want. Let's see how this pans out.
14' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!
Bengaluru FC go into the lead in the most stunning fashion.
And this was an own goal scored by Mislav Komorski.
Bengaluru FC have a free-kick on the far side on the right as Udanta Singh is brought down. The set-piece routine that followed was quite confusing but Dimas Delgado plays it low to Sunil Chhetri, who greets the pass with a flick towards Udanta Singh.
The BFC winger forces a cross into the crowded box from the right and it is deflected into the goal by Komorski.
11' Rino Anto's cross is pushed away by Mato Grgic as Bengaluru FC increase their intensity here.
4' OFFSIDE! Bengaluru catch Northeast United offside by using their high back-line. Jose Leudo tried to find Ogbeche through but the assistant raises his flag.
2' Bengaluru FC have the first corner. Rino Anto with a quick cross into the box but Lalthlamuana blocks it away for a corner.
1' KICKOFF! National Anthems sung, hands shaken, playing eleven exchanged. Let's get going into the action.
The teams are out for the national anthem! Northeast United FC are wearing their red away jersey whereas Bengaluru FC are donning their traditional blue jersey.
Bengaluru FC: The side has been lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Rino Anto and Rahul Bheke will play as the full backs whereas Juanan and Albert Serran will guard the heart of the defense. Erik Paartalu and Harmanjot Khabra will slot just in front of the back-four whereas Udanta Singh and Kean Lewis will be troubling the defense with their galloping runs in the right and the left wing respectively. Dimas Delgado is playing in the hole behind the striker whereas Sunil Chhetri will be leading the team from the front.

Northeast United FC: The Highlanders, too, are going with a 4-1-3-1-1. Robert Lalthlamuana and Reagan Singh will be protecting the wings whereas Mato Grgic and Mislav Komorski will ensure the strikers don't get the space to exploit the center. Jose Leudo is the lone defensive midfielder in the playing eleven. Rowllin Borges, Lalthathanga Khawlhring, and Redeem Tlang will play just behind the support striker Federico Gallego and target man Bartholomew Ogbeche.
Bengaluru FC have started the game with seven Indian players on the pitch. Xisco Hernandez, who played as the False No.9 in their last game against Mumbai City FC, has been benched for Rino Anto. Northeast United FC, on the other hand, have stuck to the same winning combination which defeated Chennaiyin FC 1-0 in their last game.
Bengaluru FC Starting XI: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Rino Anto, Juanan, Albert Serran, Rahul Bheke, Harmanjot Khabra, Erik Paartalu, Udanta Singh, Dimas Delgado, Kean Lewis, Sunil Chhetri

Northeast United FC Starting XI: Rehenesh TP, Reagan Singh, Mislav Komorski, Mato Grgic, Robert Lalthlamuana, Redeem Tlang, Jose Leudo, Rowllin Borges, Lalthathanga Khawlhring, Federico Gallego, Bartholomew Ogbeche

Bengaluru FC Subs: Soram Poirei, Gursimrat Singh, Sairuat Kima, Ajay Chhetri, Boithang Haokip, Chencho Gyeltshen, Edmund Lalrindika

Northeast United FC Subs: Pawan Kumar, Gurwinder Singh, Keegan Pereira, Pawan Kumar, Nikhil Kadam, Panagiotis Triadis, Juan Mascia
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Bengaluru FC vs. Northeast United FC match in the Hero Indian Super League. This is Abhishek Kundu and, I will be guiding you throughout the game.
Bengaluru FC gaffer Carles Cuadrat, in their previous game, deployed 19-year-old Edmund Lalrindika as a striker in their against Mumbai City FC. Although he only got eight minutes to showcase his talent, Bengaluru FC only achieved this because they are on the top of the table.

It makes us stronger in other aspects of the game. It puts our team in a test to try different things. One thing we tried last week was to try and use a talented player like Edmund (Lalrindika), the 19-year-old has been scoring a lot of goals with the B team, so why not test him? We are lucky that we are on top.
Northeast United FC coach Eelco Schattorie isn't focussing on the permutations and combinations that will take them through to the top 4. Instead, he is taking one game at a time.

"The thing in football is that people are always calculating, but nobody knows what to expect. The only thing I hope is that ATK and Jamshedpur lose all their remaining games so that I don’t have to worry too much. I’m not a guy who keeps calculating. Our next game is against Bengaluru and that is what we are focussing on."
Some worrying stat for Northeast United FC:

The Highlanders have the poorest shot accuracy in the ISL, with only 39 shots on target from 157 total shots. In the previous game again Chennaiyin FC, they took 20 shots, but only two of them were on target.

Some worrying stat for Bengaluru FC:

Miku's absence has jolted the attacking impetus of the team. When the Venezuelan started the game for Bengaluru FC, the team scored at an average of 2 goals per game. However, since his absence, Bengaluru FC have managed to bulge the back of the net only seven times in eight games.
Key Battles to watch out:

Federico Gallego vs. Dimas Delgado- Northeast United FC's Federico Gallego has bagged the highest number of assists this season. Dimas Delgado will be playing in the defensive midfield to halt his attacking threats.

Bartholomew Ogbeche vs. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu- Northeast United FC without Bartholomew Ogbeche is like Bengaluru FC without Miku. While the Venezuelan is nursing his injury, Bartholomew is fit and raring to go. Gurpreet will have a busy day in between the sticks to keep him at bay.

Robert Lalthlamuana vs. Udanta Singh- Udanta Singh gave a brilliant account of himself in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup while playing for the national team. However, against Mumbai City FC, he couldn't bring his A-game as Indian international Subhasish Bose kept him quiet him in the wing. Robert Lalthlamuana is tasked today to contain the marauding runs of the 22-year-old. Only time would tell if he will succeed.
What happened the last time these two sides met?

On the night of 5th December 2012 at the Indira Gandhi stadium in Guwahati, Northeast United looked set to end Bengaluru FC's unbeaten run in the end. Federico Gallego put the Highlanders ahead in the 64th minute after a well-timed pass from Bartholomew Ogbeche. Bhutan's Chencho Gyeltshen produced an acrobatic bicycle kick to level the terms in the 92nd minute to keep the scoreline 1-1.

Can Chencho pull up the same trick from the sleeve one more time today if given a chance?
Consequences of the results of the match in the points table:

Bengaluru FC victory- The Blues reclaim their throne at the top, with the loss against Mumbai City FC being the only dent in their stellar season. Northeast United FC's position in the top four would be in danger as FC Goa- the fourth placed team- would be only two points behind them and have two games in hand, whereas, Jamshedpur FC- the fifth placed team- would be three points behind them with a game in hand.

Draw- Bengaluru FC still go to the top, but only having a slender one-point lead. Northeast United FC, on the other hand, will maintain their third spot in the table but FC Goa can topple them as they would be only three points behind and have two matches in their hand.

Northeast United FC victory- The Highlanders narrow down the gap against Mumbai City FC and Bengaluru FC. They will only be a point behind both of them, albeit having played a game more than them. If these clubs drop points in their next matches, Northeast United FC might very well overtake them to be the new league leaders.
Did you know?

Bartholomew Ogbeche played against Dimas Delgado during his time with Cadiz FA in the Segunda Division 2009/10 season. Dimas Delgado, at that time, was with CD Numancia
On the other hand, Bengaluru FC have good form at home. They have managed 14 points with only Mumbai City (16) doing better.
Insane away form.
NorthEast United have the best away run in the ISL this season. They have accumulated 13 points out of the 23 they have in away games.
NEUFC have also scored 10 goals away from home, which no other side has managed.
Bengaluru FC also had the longest unbeaten run in the league stage - spanning 19 games across the 2017-18 and 2018-19 season. Goa had the second best run of 10 unbeaten games in 2014.
The longest unbeaten run - across 11 games - in the competition came to an end when Bengaluru FC lost to Mumbai City FC in the previous game.
Probable XI:

Bengaluru FC: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (GK), Rahul Bheke, Juanan Gonzalez, Albert Serran, Harmanjot Khabra, Erik Paartalu, Dimas Delgado, Udanta Singh, Xisco Hernandez, Kean Lewis, Sunil Chhetri (C)

NorthEast United FC: TP Rehenesh (GK), Reagan Singh, Mato Grgic, Mislav Komorski, Robert Lalthlamuana, Redeem Tlang, Jose
Leudo, Rowllin Borges, Federico Gallego, Lalthathanga Khawlhring, Bartholomew Ogbeche (C)
Bengaluru FC v NorthEast United preview:

Bengaluru FC, who were handed their first defeat of the season by Mumbai City FC on Sunday, will aim a fantastic performance against NorthEast United FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Wednesday.

Bengaluru needed a last-gasp stunning overhead kick equaliser from their Bhutanese forward Chencho Gyeltshen to secure a draw against NEUFC in the reverse fixture in Guwahati.

This time around, BFC will want the full three points to get back on top of the table as the defeat to Mumbai brought them down to the second spot.

Although Mumbai City and BFC have the same number of points, Bengaluru have a game in hand and can go top even with a draw.

NorthEast, who are third on the table and four behind the top two, won't make it easy for them. Helmed by Eelco Schattorie, Northeast have six wins and five draws and have done well in most of their away games. They have four victories and one defeat in six away games this season.

Their captain, Bartholomew Ogbeche, is in sensational form this season and currently leads the goalscoring charts with Ferran Corominas of FC Goa with 10 goals.

He has a good partnership running with Federico Gallego, while Rowllin Borges has supported well in the midfield. New signing Panagiotis Triadis got 20 minutes of playing time against Chennaiyin FC and the Greek midfielder will hope to contribute more against BFC.

As for the Blues, Rino Anto is expected to return to the line-up as the right-back and push Harmanjot Khabra to the midfield. Left-back Nishu Kumar is still out while Miku is expected back in the line-up for Bengaluru.

All the goalscoring responsibility has fallen on Sunil Chhetri for Bengaluru FC, but the Indian talisman hasn't scored since Bengaluru FC's 2-1 win over FC Goa on November 22.

Chhetri has been unable to give his best in the attack in the absence of a No 9 in the squad and will be hoping that Miku returns as soon as possible.

NorthEast, on the other hand, will look to continue their good run. They needed a late winner from Ogbeche against Chennaiyin FC but will look to pressure the Blues from the word go at the Kanteerava.

When and where to watch: The Bengaluru FC v NorthEast United FC Live Stream is on Hotstar. The game, which kicks off at 7.30 pm IST on Wednesday, will be telecast on Star Sports Network.
