1 - 2
Renato Augusto 76'
13' Fernandinho (OG)
31' K. De Bruyne
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! Belgium have pulled off the biggest win in their history. They have knocked out Brazil. No redemption for the Brazilians. The Red Devils look immense going into the final. We're in for a cracker- France vs Belgium.

Heartbreak for Brazil. Heartbreak for the world. Heartbreak for the romantics.

It finishes Brazil 1-2 Belgium.

That's that from the yap centre. I'm going home. Hope y'all had a ball.

94' Hazard and De Bruyne run down the clock but Brazil get a freekick.
94' De Bruyne goes ahead and wins a corner for Belgium. They look like they'll go through now.

Costa cuts inside from the right flank and lays the ball off to Neymar. Neymar connects beautifully and the ball is heading straight for the top corner but Courtois hurls himself at it and gets his fingerprints to it touch it away for a corner. The subsequent corner is top-notch as well but the header from Firmino flies over the crossbar.
92' Marcelo cuts it back for Coutinho and he gets a shot away but the Belgians block it and Hazard breaks on the counter. He drags the ball out wide to the right wing and wins a foul.
90' 5 minutes added on.
90' Neymar claims a penalty after failing to reach a dangerous looking ball from Fagner on the right flank. They are checking it. VAR! But there doesn't seem to be a push.
89' Fagner mows Hazard down. And he wins a yellow card for that. Way to go, lad.
88' De Bruyne pulls off yet another ridiculous ball to Hazard. It's a tad too heavy though but Hazard manages to save it from going out for a goalkick. Brazil have a throw-in deep inside their defensive half.
87' Neymar tries to do too much inside the area and runs the ball out of play after taking one touch too many.
86' Substitution for Belgium.

It's Lukaku off for Tielemans! This is a huge gamble from Martinez. Huge!
84' Fernandinho gets a yellow card for a kick on Hazard. I'd have given him one for being utter garbage.

Firmino releases Neymar on the left wing and he cuts inside and gets the better of Meunier before laying it off to Coutinho who blasts it way wide off the mark.
81' Substitution for Belgium.

Chadli off. Thomas Vermaelen on. A 5 man defence?

Coutinho once again drags two defenders away and plays in Renato at the edge of the area. He has adequate amount of time and acres of space but sends it wide of goal. That's a goal in training all day, man!
79' Fellaini wins the corner and Hazard breaks. He checks his run and plays a poor ball to scupper the chance.
78' Brazil are really testing the Belgian defence now. Diego Costa wins a corner as his cross is blocked by Vertonghen.

KDB fails to feed Lukaku in the box and Brazil break yet again. Neymar motors to the edge of the area and finds FIrmino through Alderweireld and Meunier and Firmino traps it and thwacks it but it just flies above the crossbar!
77' Marcelo tries to invent something down the left side of the box but Witsel intervenes to thwart the danger and Belgium have a goalkick.

Coutinho takes his time, measures the Belgian defence and plays a lovely dinked ball into the box and Augusto rises to meet it and sends it to the far corner to drag Brazil back into the game.
74' Costa motors into the box and tries to rattle the net with a right footed strike but Courtois beats it away and out of danger.
73' Costa tries to invent a clever little ball into the box with the outside of his boot but no Brazilian forward takes a gamble and goes to the far post. The ball rolls out for a goalkick.
73' Coutinho falls down while trying to push Lukaku and the ref, bafflingly, gives the freekick to Brazil.
Substitution for Brazil.

Paulinho off. Renato Augusto on. Why is Fernandinho still playing?
71' Hazard stays on the ground after getting pushed from behind by Fagner.
71' Costa goes for goal from otside the area and it bounces in front of Courtois but the big belgian keeper has it covered.
70' Yellow card for Thomas Meunier as he deliberately takes out Neymar who embarked on a dangerous run through the centre. Meunier will miss the next match.
69' Lukaku outruns Miranda on the right flank but takes one touch too many and rolls the ball out for a goalkick.
67' Fernandinho takes an elbow to the face from Witsel and is in need of medical attention.
65' Coutinho plays an uncharacteristically poor pass as he attempts to spread the play out to the right wing. Belgium get a throw-in.
64' Fernandinho's night is not getting any better. What a horror show this has been!
62' Costa runs intot he box and Courtois sticks out his long arms and parries it to the centre of the box. It falls awkwardly for Paulinho and Belgium see it clear before he can get a shot away.
60' Chadli intercepts one more of Fernandinho's balls and feeds De Bruyne down the middle. De Bruyne goes for Hazard on his left and the latter tries to ripple the net with a strike across the face of the goal but it goes out for a goalkick.
59' Marcelo sends one fizzing into the box once again and once again, there are no Brazilians in the box to meet it.
57' Substitution for Brazil.

Gabriel Jesus off. Douglas Costa on.
55' There looked like there was a bit of contact there. Might just be given. The VAR team is on it. OH, NO PENALTY. PLAY ON, THEY SAY.
55' Jesus nutmegs Vertonghen inside the area and then sends the ball out as Kompany puts in a last-ditch tackle. VAR! VAR! VAR!
54' Neymar wins a freekick for Brazil at the end of a brilliant run. They take it short and Neymar tries to play Fernandinho on the edge of the area but Kompany slides and sees it clear.
54' Paulinho breaks into the box and tries to dink one over Thibaus Courtois but can't put it in the net.
53' Neymar spreads it out to Marcelo. He swings it in but it goes past the far post where it is collected and sent back by Jesus but Kompany hoofs it clear.
53' Brazil have a freekick, 40 yards away from goal as Hazard is penalized for a push from behind on Fagner.
52' Neymar goes down inside the box to Fellaini's challenge but the ref says nothing doing. In fact, Neymar does not appeal! He does not appeal! What is this World Cup?
51' Marcelo tries once again and this time Alderweireld sidefoots it clear.

Marcelo dances past Meunier on the left side of the box before whipping in a beaut that fizzes across the face of the goal. Firmino tried to poke it in but couldn't reach it in time.
49' Fernandino's horror streak continues. His attempt to spread the play out to the left flank is abysmal and falls behind Marcelo and Belgium have a throw-in in their defensive half.
49' Firmino sends one low into the area from the left side of the box but Kompany thumps it clear.
48' Some good stuff from Brazil but Belgium break again and KDB finds Lukaku on the left side. Lukaku takes on Miranda but the Brazilian defender holds him off and lets the ball run to Alisson.
47' Neymar tries to feed Firmino inside the box but the latter can't bring the ball under his control before Kompany's intervention.
47' Alderweireld gets a yellow card after wiping out Paulinho near the halfway line.
46' Meanwhile, Brazil have brought on Firmino for Willian.

In other news, the freekick comes to nothing.
45' Hazard tries to navigate through the left wing but his run is stopped illegally by Paulinho. Belgium have a freekick on the left flank.

PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! De Bruyne rolls the ball and gets us underway in the second half.
Belgium proving to be the big money men in this World Cup. They're taking the game to Brazil. Are they 45 minutes away from making it to the semifinals? As it stands, the Brazilians are crashing out. We'll resume shortly. The players are having their final talks in the tunnel.
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! It ends Brazil 0-2 Belgium. Brazil are going to have to put their nose to the grindstone if they're to turn this around. Fellaini, De Bruyne, Lukaku and Hazard are running riot.

The Red Devils are turning it on.
46' Neymar is released through the centre... but the flag's up. Offside.
45' 1 minute added on. Belgium are keeping the ball with ease.
43' Coutinho and Neymar try to be cute around Fellaini and he's having absolutely none of that and digs the ball out and sends it out of danger.
42' Fernandinho has been pretty poor so far. He has been getting outrun in midfield from the get-go and his terrible pass into no man's land adds more salt to the wound.
41' Chadli whips in the corner and Vincent Kompany absolutely outdoes himself and does a weird (I dont even know what to call that), outside of the foot back flick (?) which tests Alisson. However, the goalkeeper gobbles it up.
40' He goes for goal and forces Alisson to tip it over the crossbar!
40' Belgium have a freekick on the edge of the box, towards the left side as Paulinho lunges into De Bruyne from behind. De Bruyne will take this one.
37' De Bruyne breaks through the centre and feeds Hazard on the left wing. He drifts inwards and in one fluid mission finds Lukaku through De Bruyne. Lukaku draws a couple of defenders onto him and backheels it into Meunier's path but the latter could not cross it in. Belgium are looking more and more dangerous.
37' Belgium clear the corner but Brazil are still on the ball.
36' Courtois makes a spectacular save!
Coutinho goes for the corner, signature style, but Courtois dives and parries it away for a corner.
34' Marcelo lobs the ball into box and it floats over Kompany and Jesus is in lots of space but he snatches at it and heads it far away from the post.
32' Some pingpong activity in Belgium's penalty area causes some concern but the defenders see it clear and they break on the counter. However, Chadli's adventure on the left wing is cut short by a good tackle from Fagner.

Neymar whips the corner to the near post and Belgium head it clear and Lukaku collects the ball in the centre, swivels away from Fernandinho and Paulinho before drawing more defenders and releasing De Bruyne on the right side. De Bruyne does not break his stride, runs straight and whacks it into the low bottom corner. What a beautiful goal!
29' Willian sends it in and Witsel heads it clear. It falls to Fernandinho, who sees his shot blocked by Kompany. Subsequently, Neymar gets a shot away but it's deflected out for a corner.
28' Brazil have a freekick near the corner flag. Willian is standing by it.
27' Lukaku is drifting wide on the right side for Belgium. Meanwhile, Willian is on the ground after a coming together with Vertonghen.
25' Marcelo twists and turns and sends a missile to test Courtois but the Belgian goalkeeper is up to it.
24' Fernandinho's attempted pass to Marcelo carried a bit too much weight or it would have released the fullback into a dangerous amount of space.
23' Miskick from the corner courtesy De Bruyne.
22' De Bruyne breaks for Belgium and finds himself in a lot of space in the centre. He then feeds Lukaku on the edge of the area. Lukaku takes on Miranda, does a stepover, clips the ball through his legs but just can't reach the ball before Alisson clears it for a corner.
20' Hazard works his magic and slaloms past Fernandinho before feeding Meunier in space on the right side of the box. However, his cut back gets cleared before it reaches Lukaku.
19' Jesus forces Witsel to crash right under the ref's nose and Belgium have a freekick near the halfway line.
18' Neymar tries to dance past Meunier but the Belgian reads Neymar's twitches and robs him to deny him the opportunity to whip it in. However, the ball falls to Coutinho who tries to curl in one of his signature goals but ends up banging it straight at Courtois.
16' Alderweireld's awkward diagonal gifts Brazil position as the samba boys mount pressure on the Belgian defence. But Fellaini wins the ball in midfield and sends it across to Lukaku. Lukaku wrestles with his marker and then feeds Chadli on the left wing but it doesn't come to anything.
14' Willian leathers a cross into the area and Courtois hurls himself into the centre to palm it away. But the ball is shuffled back into the area and Jesus has a chance to execute a tap-in but Courtois has his near post covered and the rebound is cleared by Kompany.

Chadli takes the corner and delivers it to the near post and it falls to the near post and clips Fernandinho's elbow and ends up in the net. Extraordinary!
12' De Bruyne finds Fellaini in a dangerous position in the final third but Fella's shot is deflected out for a corner. Big chance that.
10' Jesus tracks back to steal the ball from Witsel but his attempt to venture into the box all by himself is thwarted by Kompany.

Willian's corner falls kindly for Paulinho but he miskicks it and gets his tame shot cleared.
9' Coutinho labours to earn some space on the left side and then releases Marcelo on the left flank. Marcelo's ball into the box causes a scramble inside the area and Belgium somehow see it clear for a corner. Willian will take it.
7' Subsequently, Belgium break on the counter and Lukaku bombs down the left flank, holding off Fagner and sends it into the box Hazard. But the Chelsea talisman gets his shot blocked by Miranda.

Neymar's corner dips and falls for Thiago Silva at the near post but he scuffs the chance.
6' Coutinho and Neymar combine to release Marcelo in space on the left flank. He tries to whip it in but it catches a deflection and goes out fo a corner. Neymar will take it.
5' The Fellbow is here. Marouane Fellaini shoves his elbow into Neymar from behind and gets an earful from the ref.
5' Marouane Fellaini spreads the ball out wide for Kevin De Bryune. He then shifts it to his right and sends a lovely diagonal ball for Meunier. However, the latter's control lets him down and that attack comes to nothing.
4' Neither Brazil nor Belgium are pressing high up the pitch but they are turning up the heat in their defensive halves. Marouane Fellaini gets cautioned for a foul near the halfway line.
3' Neymar robs Meunier and plays a quick give and go with Jesus but the former's cross into the box is served straight into Courtois' hands.
2' De Bruyne wrestles with Fernandinho and sends him floating in air and runs into space and goes for goal himself but it doesn't work out. Poor connection. Drags it wide of Alisson's right post and Brazil have a goalkick. That was scary for Brazil.
1' Kompany hoofs it forward, optimistically but it's too long for Lukaku and Brazil have a goalkick.
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! And we're off. Brazil attack from left to right on the TV screen.
5 time winners of the World Cup vs the tournament top scorers. It is the most high-profile quarter-final game. Can Neymar, Coutinho and co. keep South America buzzing? Or are the red devils going to make a sacrifice tonight?

The teams are out in the centre and the pre-match diplomacy is in full swing. National anthems are being rung out.

More importantly, Brazil are in their classic Yellow kit while Belgium are in their first-choice Reds.

World Cup, lads. This is the thang.

Brazil vs Belgium: Team News

Casemiro had unfortunately picked up 2 yellow cards in 2 consecutive appearances and will therefore not be available for tonight's crunch encounter with Belgium. As a result, Fernandinho is expected to play the sweeper for Brazil.

Marcelo improves this Brazilian side greatly in attack though the same can't be said about the defensive side of things. If he returns, expect Brazil to hit Belgium as hard as they can on the counter.

Meanwhile, Neymar and Coutinho, who are both on yellow cards will want to tread with caution and not face the risk of having to sit out of the semifinal if they can get the better of Belgium tonight.

As for Belgium, Jan Vertonghen and Kevin De Bruyne need to be careful as they need to avoid a yellow card tonight. The Belgium squad is in full strength and there's no reason why they would hold back anything tonight.

Brazil vs Belgium: Probable lineups
