FULL TIME : Chennaiyin FC 4-1 Jamshedpur FC

A dominant outing from the two-time ISL Champions allow them to register a comfortable 4-1 win over Jamshedpur FC. Chennaiyin looked the better side from the first minute itself and dictated the gam for 90 minutes. Jamshedpur FC tried to reduce the deficit after being 2-0 down by committing more men forward which allowed the home side to score twice in no time to put the game to bed.

Chennaiyin replaces Jamshedpur FC at the 6th place in the standings. Chennaiyin visit Kerala Blasters on 1st February while Jamshedpur host ATK on 2nd February.

This is your host, Sayak Dipta Dey (@sierraxdelta28) signing off. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for all the updates from Indian Super League and Indian Football. Thank You and Good Night.

88' Laldinliana Renthlei booked.

86' Substitution for Chennaiyin FC. Dragos Firtulescu replaces Rafael Crivellaro.
85' Substitution for Jamshedpur FC. Amarjit Singh replaces Isaac Vanmalsawma.

77' Substitution for Chennaiyin FC. Andre Schembri replaced by Thoi Singh.
75' GOAL! Might just be game, set and match. Anirudha Thapa takes a little glance and spots Valskis take a wide-run and finds him with an incisive and accurate pass. Valskis keeps his calm and slots it home past a hapless Subrata Paul to make it 3-1. Chennaiyin get back their two-goal cushion and look good to go now.
71' GOAL! Joyner Lourenco finds Sergio Castel with a lofted cross. Castel uses his phenomenal neck power and twists his neck to catch Kaith off his position and head it in by running away from his marker, Eli Sabia. An exciting 20 odd-minutes for the spectators to look forward to.
68' Castel fires one shot from distance. Kaith fumbles on the first attempt but eventually holds on to the ball before an on-rushing Noe Acosta could pounce on the loose ball.
65' Couple of free-kicks swung in from Noe Acosta but to of no avail.
60' Jamshedpur having the lion's share of possession in the second-half so far but the Chennaiyin defence is very much up to the task of thwarting each and every Jamshedpur move and has reduce penetration from the away side to a mere minimum.
56' Jamshedpur try one from the training field. Castel finds Acosta who threads in a ball to an on-rushing Farukh Chawdhary. However, the weight on the ball is a little too much and it runs out to Bishal Kaith for safety.
54' Rafael Crivellaro takes his man on near the left flank and beats him with ease. He looks to release Lallianzuala Chhangte but the pass is a touch overweight and the ball goes out for a goal kick.
52' A more direct approach from Jamshedpur FC. A long-ball towards CK Vineeth over the midfield but the weight on the ball is little too much for the Kerala lad to chase after.
50' Chennaiyin get a corner. Jamshedpur manage to clear their lines.
47' Substitution at half-time for Jamshedpur FC. CK Vineeth replaces David Grande.
46' Second-half kicks-off.

A dominant Chennaiyin side with a lot more intent and incisiveness lead at the break with a two goal cushion courtesy Andre Schembri's two headers from the Crivellaro corners. Jamshedpur FC tried to hit back the home side but have not really managed to do so courtesy the resolute Chennaiyin defence. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for the second-half.

42' SAVE! Chennaiyin hit Jamshedpur on counter. Schembri finds Crivellaro whose lofted shot is parried away by Subrata Paul with an acrobatic save for a corner.
41' Noe Acosta finds Sergio Castel whose shot on goal is defected with a block in front of goal.
40' Series of crosses from both the flanks from Jamshedpur FC as they upped the ante in the later part of the first half but Chennaiyin somehow hang on.
37' Andre Schembri has missed his second big chance of the game and this could cost his side dearly. This time Rafael Crivellaro gets the ball in the hole, he plays a wonderful through ball for Andre Schembri as he makes a run into the box. Schembri shoots with his left foot, being one-on-one with the keeper but the ball goes just wide of the far pole.
35' Good play by Jamshedpur FC. This time Bikash Jairu attacks down the left flank and hangs up a cross towards the far pole. It is a delicious ball inviting Sergio Castel to attack. He obliges as he rushes in from outside the box, jumps and gets his head on the ball but he hits it over the bar.
32' Rafael Crivellaro earns another free-kick on the left flank. He curls it in towards the near post where a Jamshedpur FC defender gets his head to the ball. It goes high in the air and Subrata Paul collects it easily.
27' Jamshedpur FC having more of the ball in the last 5 minutes which has also seen Sergio Castel getting more and more involved in the game. This has been their best spell in the game so far and they should be looking to capitalise on it.
25' Castel and Acosta try to combine and play it through to Farukh Chawdhary but the direction of the pass is a little too square and Chennaiyin get back on the ball.
22' Noe Acosta swings in a tasty-little cross from the left but not many Red shirts there in the Chennaiyin box to attach the incoming ball allowing Chennaiyin FC to defend their lines with ease and comfort.
20' Schembri and Valskis try to play a little give and go but the later fails to position himself in line with Schembri and the ball runs out to Subrata Paul.

12' GOAL! Chennaiyin score and we had it coming. Crivellaro finds Schembri with a little flick-on to split open the Jamshedpur defence. Schembri threads a through ball to Valskis who finishes the chance into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

Hello and Welcome to the Sportskeeda's LIVE coverage of the Indian Super League regular league stage tie between Chennaiyin FC and Jamshedpur FC from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai.
Chennaiyin FC host Jamshedpur FC in a clash of the mid-table in the ISL on Thursday, at the Marina Arena. Chennaiyin are currently seventh, while Jamshedpur are a point ahead, in sixth.Chennaiyin, meanwhile, have had mixed fortunes under new boss Owen Coyle, with the goal-scoring touch seeming to have returned. They won their last game against NorthEast United 2-0 with two superbly taken goals from Nerijus Valskis and Rafael Crivellaro.Jamshedpur, on the other hand, returned to winning ways in their last game, beating Kerala Blasters 3-2 at home, and put themselves back in the frame to finish fourth and take the final playoff spot.

For Chennaiyin, there is no real need to change their team, with Owen Coyle finding a combination that has finally started scoring freely, and they even kept a clean sheet in their last game.Crivellaro and Valskis are obviously the most important players in the side, but with Edwin Vanspaul putting in a sterling performance alongside Anirudh Thapa in midfield in their last game, Germanpreet Singh's return from suspension might only be in the form of a place on the bench.

On the other hand, Jamshedpur will surely be without their captain, Tiri, who picked up a rib injury in their last game. Castel, who came off the bench to score a penalty against Kerala, is likely to start this game, while their talismanic midfielder Piti is reportedly not far away from returning to full fitness.
