The match was a cracker but without any goals as both the defenses were on top and both the goalkeepers made good saves throughout the match. Chennaiyin get their first point of the season while Mumbai are level on points with NorthEast United at the top with a win and a draw for both teams in the first two matches.
90+4' Sauvik takes one for the team. He has to block Chhangte's run on the counter and he gets his second yellow card of the match. He is off. Mumbai, down to 10 men. The free kick is excellently taken long and Valskis' header is saved by Amrinder Singh.
90' Jorge Costa is shown the yellow card by the referee for stepping onto the pitch amidst an ongoing game. Four minutes added by the fourth official.
89' Bipin Singh cuts in from the left and wanted all the glory but he rocketed his shot into the sky and the ball ends up amongst the spectators.
85' A Chhangte cross is blocked by Borges but the ball falls kindly to Valskis and the Lithuanian striker's shot is also blocked by Sarthak Golui keeping the scores at 0-0.

82' Chennaiyin break on another counter-attack and Chhangte runs the whole length of the pitch but his cross is excellently blocked by Sauvik who has brilliant throughout the evening.

80' Chennaiyin break on the counter and win a throw-in. Anirudh Thapa feeds the ball to Valskis but the Lithuanian forward hits it just wide.

Mumbai City FC had great chances in the second quarter of the match but failed to open the scoring. Several controversial offside calls from the assistant referee did not go down well with the away contingent.

42' Chhangte steps over the right back and shoots but Amrinder Singh stands tall at the near post and stops the ball from going into the back of the net.
40' Another controversial offside call by the assistant referee as Mumbai players aren't happy with the decision. Serge Kevyn was again through on goal but a wrong offside call stopped him from taking a shot at goal.
36' Mumbai earn a free kick 25 yards away from goal. It is taken quickly to trick the Chennaiyin defense but the goalkeeper makes the save and it is cleared by the defenders in blue.
33' Rowlin Borges is shown a yellow card for tugging the shirt of a Chennaiyin player. Both the holding midfielders for the away side are booked now.
32' Mumbai City FC is piling on the pressure but just can't open the scoring on the night. A brilliant lobbed through pass finds Kevyn clear and one-on-one with Vishal Kaith but the Gabonese forward shoots wide.
29' Referee shows the first yellow card of the match. Raynier Fernandes is booked for a challenge on Anirudh Thapa.
28' Kevyn darted down the right wing and put in an excellent cross in the six-yard box but Chermiti went in too early and his diving header skied as the goalkeeper was beaten.
26' Controversial offside call by the assistant referee as Mumbai City FC broke on counter-attack but the whistle was blown.
23' Modou Sougou was partially fit coming into the match and is taken off as the Gabonese forward Serge Kevyn replaces the Senagalese forward.
17' Crivellaro received the ball in the penalty box but he scuffs his shot and goal kick is given.
13' Chhangte is unmarked and a through ball finds the winger darting down the wing, his shot is saved by Amrinder and the follow-up by Crivellaro is just wide.
10' Battle in the midfield is heating up as the referee had to stop the game twice for minor fouls. Crivellaro shoots from 25 yards but just misses the target.
5' Update: Schembri is back on the pitch and is trudging alongside the centre backs.
3' Andre Schembri gets an elbow in the face and is down on the pitch. Medical treatment needed for the Maltese forward.
1' The home side are clad in blue while Mumbai CIty FC are wearing their away yellow kit. The away side kick off. Chennaiyin break from the start and Amrinder Singh makes an amazing double save to deny the home side from scoring in the first minute.
John Gregory has introduced three changes to his side with Todonba Singh, Anirudh Thapa and Rafael Crivellaro coming in for Jerry Lalrinzuala, Masih Saighani, and Thoi Singh respectively.
Jorge Costa has made two changes to thei away side with the injured Mato Grgic making way for Pratik Chaudhari and Modou Sougou coming in for Paulo Machado.
