FULL-TIME: Churchill Brothers 3-2 Chennai City

That's a superb result for Churchill. Chennai City need to beat Minerva Punjab in their final league game to win the I-League. If East Bengal fail to take full points from any of their remaining two games, that would be enough for Chennai City.

Churchill with a much-deserved victory.
90+5' FULL-TIME! Chennai City have not won the league, yet.
90+5' Chennai City have rushed things a little too much in the final third, and as a result, lost the ball.
90' There will be 5 minutes added on at the end of the second half.
89' Manzi! That's a decent cross towards the penalty spot from Romario, but Manzi's got his header wrong, and that's looped over the bar.
86' Sandro's played Manzi through, and he has the ball in the back of the net, but the referee has stopped play for offside. Wayne Vaz was playing Manzi on, Chennai City unclucky.
86' Another lovely cross from Nicholas, and he finds Gurung on the far post. He brings it down, and takes a left-footed shot, but that's saved by Boerchio who gets down in time.
85' Sandro has gone into the book, for giving the referee a mouthful.
84' Churchill bring the experienced Israil Gurung on

ON - Israil Gurung
OFF - Chesterpoul Lyngdoh
83' Ajith's cross from the right is headed across goal by Manzi, but Aniston puts that behind.
80' Sandro's cirner is played straight back to the taker. His second cross is beyond a charging Kunzang, but over the head of Nestor at the far-post.
80' Superb interplay between Nestor and Sandro, and the former has a shot, that hits Novakovic and goes behind for a corner.
78' WHAT A CHANCE FOR CHURCHILL! CHESTERPOUL LYNGDOH SHOULD HAVE MADE THAT 4-2.

Plaza has nutmegged Bora on the halfway line, and there' s half the field for Lyngdoh to run into. Plaza on his left. But he just takes one heavy touch, and that's enough for Boerchio to pounce on to.
77' That's lovely play from Chennai City, as they get Ajith Kumar free on the left flank. His low cross is brilliantly steered behind by Novakovic. Chennai City have a corner.
75' Willis Plaza has missed a sitter, again! That was the chance for the hat-trick! That's more superb wing play from Nicholas, who puts a cross on a plate for Plaza to head home, but the header's gone over the bar.
71' GOOOOOOAAAAALLLL! WILLIS PLAZA PUTS CHURCHILL BACK IN FRONT!

Another awful giveaway from Boerchio straight to Khalid Aucho, and he finds Plaza with a through-ball. The finish from Churchill's captain is unerring.
70' Aucho! That's a superb effort after the rebound from a cross falls to him on the edge of the box.
69' GOOOOOAAAAALLLL! That's a calm, cool penalty from Manzi to bring Chennai back on terms! Goal no. 20 of the season for the Spaniard.
68' Churchill make a change.

ON - Anthony Wolfe
OFF - Remi Lourognon

67' CHENNAI CITY HAVE A PENALTY! Wayne Vaz is in the way of Edwin's pass, but his clearance has gone straight up to strike his arm.
64' Jovel Martins is now down having been caught in a 50-50 challenge with Edwin
63' Remi! He's bullied Regin off it, and charged towards goal, but with Edwin screaming on his back, Remi's dragged his shot wide.
60' WHAT A CHANCE FOR CHENNAI CITY! ROMARIO HAS MISSED A SITTER! Nestor wins the ball brilliantly, high up the field. And then, he floats a superb ball into the far post, when Romario is faced by Kunzang, but with the goal at his mercy, he's slotted it wide.
57' Manzi! First chance of the day for the top-scorer. Romario's cross is chested down by the Spaniard, and he looks for the overhead, but skies it.
57' PLAZA BLAZES OVER! That's a superb through-ball from Aucho through to Plaza, who has raced forward towards Boerchio's goal, but his shot is well over!
56' Akbar Nawas makes his second change of the day, as Sriram leaves the pitch to be replaced by Ranjeet.

ON - Ranjeet Singh
OFF - Sriram B
55' That's a big chance for Churchill, and Aucho has messed it up! Plaza has laid it off to Aucho on the right, he looks to cut back on his left, but is charged down by Bora.
54' No sort of rhythm for Chennai City. They're not stringing passes together, and that's been their bread and butter all season. Pressure is telling.
52' Chennai have it all to do here, and Nestor looks to get them going with a mazy dribble, but Eldor is having none of that, and he's bullied Nestor out of it.
50' GOOOOOAAAAALLL! REMI HAS PUT CHURCHILL IN THE LEAD!

Wayne Vaz comes charging forward, and then plays a superb through ball to Remi, who smashes a shot past Boerchio, who has no chance.
49' WILLIS PLAZA HAS MISSED AN OPEN GOAL! A loose ball led to mayhem in the Chennai City box, and Boerchio came forward to narrow the angle. The rebound has fallen to Plaza, who's skewed the rebound over the bar.
47' Manzi has stayed down, after a duel with Novakovic that looked like it had the Churchill defender in trouble. THe Chennai City captain is on the floor, and has his head in his hands. Could that be his game done, then?
46' PEEEEEP! Manzi gets the ball rolling, and we're back underway at the Tilak Maidan
We're almost set for the start of the second half here at the Tilak Maidan. Chennai City know they need to be better than they were in the first period. Churchill will look more of the same.
HALF-TIME: Churchill Brothers 1-1 Chennai City FC

10 shots to 4. 4 on target to 1. Churchill have been well on top. Eldor and Novakovic have ensured Manzi really hasn't had a sniff. Chennai City have been unable to get Nestor on the ball. Nicholas Fernandes and Chesterpoul Lyngdoh have used the flanks beautifully for Churchill.

Sandro's deflected free-kick gave Chennai the lead, before Plaza got the Goan team back level with a tap-in for his 19th goal of the season. It's all to play for.
45+2' HALF-TIME. It's level at the break, and Akbar Nawas will be disgusted with that first half performance from his side, who haven't been able to impose themselves on Churchill Brothers.

45' Two minutes added time at the end of the first half, and just as the board goes up, both Nicholas Fernandes and Ajith Kumar are down with injuries.
44' Willis Plaza! What a run! He slalomed past the whole Chennai City defence! But Boerchio stood firm. Plaza has driven forward with the ball from midfield, and into the penalty area, but a combination of Boerchio and Eslava keeps him out, and the rebound is volleyed well over by Aucho. Churchill are well on top!
42' The corner is taken short, and then Chesterpoul crosses into the box, where Aucho is unmarked, but his header has gone wide.
41' Woodwork saves Chennai City! Boerchio's given the ball away to Nicholas, who's dribbled into a shooting position, the goalkeeper has redeemed himself with a save, but he's got the crossbar to thank, as the ball smashes the bar after the save and goes behind for a Churchill corner.
40' Jovel Martins! Gets past Romario on the left flank with a good turn of pace. Then decides to shoot, but it's off target.
38' GOOOOOAAAAALLL!!! WILLIS PLAZA BRINGS CHURCHILL BACK INTO IT!

Nicholas is played in on the left flank, and he's advanced superbly before crossing it to Plaza. And he hasn't just crossed it, he's put it on a plate for Plaza to tap in his 19th goal of the season.
37' Eldor tries to fool Boerchio on his own side of the goal, but the Chennai City goalkeeper has it covered, even though the shot has gone wide.
36' OH, THAT IS AN AWFUL GIVEAWAY FROM BOERCHIO! Straight to Aucho, who has an empty net to shoot into, but he's being pulled back by Regin, who goes into the book, as well.
35' Nicholas's corner is towards the penalty spot, but Boerchio has come forward and punched away with authority. The clearance is towards Nestor, and there's a lot of love for his shirt from Wayne Vaz. He's booked.
35' Chesterpoul does superbly on the right flank, as he nutmegs Eslava, but Bora swoops in on the cover to clear behind. Churchill have another corner.
32' Is that a foul? Gaurav Bora looks to stoop to head away a ball that was ankle high. As he is on the floor, Remi looks to pounce, but Bora stops him from a prone position. There are stray Churchill calls for a penalty, but referee Santosh Kumar is least interested in pointing to the spot. Replays show it was a foul, Chennai City have a lucky escape.
32' Once again, Nestor and Sandro combine down the left flank, and Nestor looks to find Manzi with a cross, but Novakovic is in the way, and gets a commanding clearing header away.
29' GOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLL!! SANDRO HAS SCORED, IT'S A HUGE DEFLECTION, BUT CHENNAI CITY DON'T CARE!

Sandro's free-kick has brushed the head of Willis Plaza in the wall, and left Kunzang completely wrong-footed, and Chennai City have the lead. One hand on that trophy, now!
28' Foul on Nestor, and this a tasty prospect for Sandro! Wayne Vaz has brought Nestor down, after the Spaniard had dribbled past the full-back.
27' Lovely play from Nestor and Sandro, and the first sign of a link-up between the two. A lovely one-two down the left, leaves Sandro in space, but his cut-back towards Manzi is easily dealt with by Novakovic.
23' Sandro looks to whip it straight on goal, but that hasn't got enough curl on it to trouble Kunzang in the Churchill goal. Chennai at least have a little bit of a foothold in the game now.
22' Novakovic goes into the book, as he brings down Manzi, who had gone past him with a superb dummy. Cynical from the big centre-half.
21' Remi plays Chesterpoul through in space on the right flank, and the young man goes for an ambitious volley from distance, but that's gone wide off the far post. Boerchio had it covered, anyway.
18' Chennai City have made an early change, and one of their big players, Edwin Vanspaul has come on for the injured Tarif Akhand.

ON - Edwin Vanspaul
OFF - Tarif Akhand
16' There's confusion between Eslava and Regin this time, and Bora has to take evasive action to clear away, with Plaza lurking.
15' Sandro's corner is cleared by Eldor, and has fallen to Regin, whose shot from around 40 yards out has gone well wide.
13' Chennai City with their first foray into the opposition box, as Sriram wins the ball high, and plays it through to Nestor. He cuts in and looks to shoot on his left foot, but Novakovic is there to clear behind. Chennai City corner now, that Sandro will take.
12' Nicholas takes the corner, it's cleared at the front-post by Sriram, and that's relieved the pressure on Chennai City.
12' Oh, WHAT A CHANCE FOR CHURCHILL! There's confusion between Eslava and Boerchio, after Bora was beaten in the air by Remi. Remi's one-on-one with Boerchio, but his shot is saved and Churchill have another corner.
10' Eldor takes the free-kick, and smacks it against the wall. Aniston's follow-up shot is skewed behind.
9' Churchill have another set-piece, as Bora fouls Plaza in a dangerous area. This is another good opportunity.
7' Chesterpoul takes the corner short towards Nicholas, whose low cross is easily caught by Boerchio.
6' Churchill have an early corner, as Nicholas plays the ball of Tarif, after being played through on the left flank by Aniston.
5' Chennai are looking a little tentative at the start here, with their passing game not quite clicking into gear, just yet. Churchill are looking super comfortable on the ball in the opening exchanges.
3' Churchill, for a bit, are doing a Chennai City to Chennai City here. They've kept the ball well, but very little in terms of penetrative attacking play.
1' Straightaway, Chennai get the ball, roll it amongst themselves for a few passes, and then Eslava looks for Nestor's run in behind the defence, but the attacker is offside.
1' PEEEEEEPPPP! We're off! Willis Plaza sets the ball rolling, and we're go!
Right, Churchill in the all red. Chennai City in their changed strip of all grey. It's go-time in Goa.
Manzi wins the toss, chooses to kick from right to left, as we see it on the idiot box, in the first half. Churchill will get us underway.
The teams have shook hands, the team pictures have been taken. Now, Manzi and Plaza will line up alongside referee MB Santosh Kumar, for the toss.
We're almost set for kickoff at the Tilak Maidan. Manzi and Plaza leading the respective lines in the tunnel. Chennai City on the cusp. Will we have a new champion tonight?

Can the love story written by Pedro Manzi, Nestor Gordillo and Sandro Rodriguez head for the most romantic conclusion, with a game to spare?
Churchill Brothers vs Chennai City I-League preview:

The I-League title race has gone down to the wire the last couple of years but this time, Chennai City FC could seize it with a game to spare if they pull off a victory over Churchill Brothers at the Tilak Maidan in Goa on Friday.

Chennai City FC, on 40 points in 18 games, can take an unassailable lead in the title race with 3 points from the Churchill match. East Bengal are the only other team who stand a chance after their 2-1 win over Real Kashmir.

For East Bengal to clinch the title, they have to win their remaining games against Minerva Punjab and Gokulam Kerala and hope that Chennai City lose their matches against Churchill and Minerva Punjab.

A draw for Chennai City on Friday will give East Bengal hope and the title race will go to the final round of games only if East Bengal pass the Aizawl test. If this happens, then Chennai City will only need one more point to seal the title as they have a better head-to-head record over East Bengal.

But Akbar Nawas' Chennai City wouldn't want to add to the suspense. They will hope to clinch the title on Friday itself. Their Spanish attack, comprising midfielders Nestor Gordillo and Sandro Rodriguez and forward Pedro Manzi have been among the goals.

The Chennai City defence, on the other hand, will have to handle the threat of Willis Plaza, who was the topscorer of the league with 18 goals until Manzi surpassed him after CCFC's last game against Mohun Bagan.

The backline of Tarif Akhand, Gaurav Bora, Roberto Eslava and Ajith Kumar will have a lot to deal with on Thursday. Edwin Vanspaul has also contributed to the defence when required.

Mauro Boerchio, who joined Chennai City for the injured goalkeeper Garcia Santana, will have to be focused throughout the 90 minutes if his team are to finish the job on Friday.

Churchill have about 5 players injured and this could make Chennai City's job easier. Richard Costa, Vicky Baskaran, Rowlison Rodriguez, Hussein Eldor and Nallappan Mohanraj are out for Churchill.

Nevertheless, we're set for a cracker of a contest on Friday with Chennai City determined to kick-start the party in Goa.

When and where to watch: The Churchill Brothers v Chennai City I-League Live game will be telecast on Star Sports 3. Live Streaming on Hotstar. Kick-off at 5 pm IST.
