DEL vs PUN Match Result - ISL 2018-19
Delhi Dynamos
1 - 1
FT
Pune City
R. Gharami 44'
88' Diego
With that, we've come to the end of the first round of matches of the new ISL season. We've had three draws, one home win and one away win.

Tomorrow, it's the Eastern derby as ATK entertain NorthEast United in Kolkata.

Thanks for joining us today, be back with us tomorrow for that one. Good night folks!
POINT FOR DELHI, BUT COULD HAVE... SHOULD HAVE BEEN 3 POINTS!

Gharami's goal really got everybody going at the stadium and the Dynamos did more than enough to have gone on to win the game from there. They created good openings, but were far too wasteful in front of goal and ultimately they paid a heavy price for it with Pune City's late equalizer. A point a piece may not be such a bad thing, but Pune will view this as a point gained while the Dynamos will see it as two points lost.
IT's ALL OVER, the FINAL WHISTLE BLOWS

Diego Carlos' late goal means it's a point each for Delhi Dynamos and Pune City. The Dynamos had taken the lead with a wonder strike from Rana Gharami in the closing moments of the first half. But they failed to add to their tally despite some very good chances and Pune snuck one late to steal a point from this encounter.

Final Score: Delhi Dynamos 1-1 Pune City
90+3' MAYHEM IN THE BOX!

Delhi in a dangerous position as the Pune defence is all out of sorts. There are players slipping, there's a shout for handball from the Sarangi shot, but nothing in the end for Delhi. The ball did strike the arm of Matt Mills but the ref deems it was unintentional and he was too close to do anything about it. The Delhi coach and players wanted a penalty there, but they don't get it.
90+1' Delhi substitution

OFF: Andrija Kaludjerovic
ON: Shubham Sarangi
90' All those misses have come back to haunt Delhi. They have missed chance after chance and Pune have just scored with the first good chance they've got.

Wasteful.
88' CARLOS DRAWS PUNE LEVEL!

And out of nowhere, Pune hit back and have scored. It's the substitute Diego Carlos, who makes a well-timed run to find the pass from Alfaro and smashes it into goal. Kaludjerovic just minutes earlier had another wonderful chance to score and he missed it and now it's all square.

Delhi Dynamos 1-1 Pune City
85' CHHANGTE WITH THE CHANCE!

The fancy feet of Chhangte once again troubling the Pune defence, beats one, beats two. Kaludjerovic does a nice job of easing out another defender (legit foul there, but not called), allowing Chhangte to have a 1-on-1 with the keeper, but once again the youngster cannot find the finish. Great chance to make it 2-0 right there!
83' Delhi win a free-kick out on the right...

Mihelic over it, but it's Das with the left-footed curler and Zuiverloon rushes onto it, but his shot is just wide. Excellent set piece there from Delhi.
79' DORRONSORRO TO THE RESCUE!

The Delhi keeper reacts well to make a very good save from a well-struck shot from Pune's Jonathan Vila. Pune are applying the pressure here.
78' Pune City substitution

OFF: Adil Khan
ON: Rohit Kumar
77' Race for the ball between Kaith and Romeo...

Loose ball there bobbles forward into the penalty box for Delhi and Romeo makes a sprint to try and get to it, but Vishal Kaith is off his line quickly to read the danger.
76' Last 15 minutes, do Pune have anything left to throw at this rejuvenated Delhi Dynamos side?
75' The final cutback on numerous occasions has not been up to scratch for Delhi. Some better delivery there and this game might be over already.

Will they come back to bite Delhi later?
73' ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR DELHI!

Romeo this time with the run behind the Pune left-back. Gets into space, cuts the ball across, but the pass is just cut out.
Delhi having a lot of joy down that right flank, Pune are hanging on here.
72' 20 minutes to go, Dynamos with the notable chances to extend their lead. Pune haven't done much.
69' Pune also make a change, a double one at that

OFF: Martin Diaz
ON: Gurtej Singh

OFF: Jakob Vanlalhlimpuia
ON: Diego Carlos
68' Dynamos make a change

OFF: Nandhakumar Sekar
ON: Romeo Fernandes
67' FLAG STAYS DOWN THIS TIME, SURELY A GOAL.... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Nandha this time with a perfectly timed run breaks the offside trap and squares a lovely ball back for Kaludjerovic who fluffs his lines completely. Gets his shot all wrong and in the end, it's a comical, weak, left-footed effort that had no danger whatsoever. He had an open goal, just had to guide it in.
65' The crowd gets excited.... Mihelic with time on the ball finds Kaludjerovic in the box, but the linesman's flag is up for offside. Looked close there, if anything don't think Kaludjerovic was the one offside.
63' Chhangte gets space down the left in a very good position, but again he dribbles and this time plays a hopeless ball that peters its way into the safe hands of Vishal Kaith.

Neither side has been able to make the most of getting into good positions out wide.
62' CHANCE THERE!

Jakob pounces on an error Das and steals the ball, but he is hurried and gives the ball straight back to the Delhi keeper.
60' Pune seem to have reverted to their basic strategy from early on and it's working better for them. They're trying to get Jakob and Ashique going down the wings.
57' Tebar's been good in that Delhi midfield. Solid as always.

So far, it's been a good return to Delhi for him, not so much for Miguel Angel Portugal.
55' For those of you who might have just joined us, the Dynamos are ahead after a scorching strike from Rana Gharami. They've also been forced into an early change after Bikramjit went out injured, to be replaced by Vinit Rai.
54' We're yet to see an effort on goal in this half...
52' Pune were one of the best away teams last year; they lost just once, at Chennaiyin. At the moment, they need some infusion of energy to prevent another loss.

They have a free-kick here after Gharami fouls Stankovic. The delivery is good, but the ref blows his whistle for offside.
51' Pune need to change something here... they're down to hoofing hopeful balls forward from defence here. Don't think they're going to get Alfaro involved much like that.
48' Delhi are continuing in the same vein they ended the first half... pressing here early with a few half-chances coming their way.
47' Alfaro looks like he's on an island.

The Pune unit on defence, is basically Alfaro out ahead by himself, acres of space after that, followed by two flat banks of four and five.

That's why they're having so much difficulty in getting out of their own half to transition into attacks.
That was a very clean first half by the way, just 5 free-kicks awarded for fouls. Good on both teams.
We're back, it's time for the second half.

And.... we're underway
That goal has certainly infused some life into this contest and what a way to do it. That goal will be watched on loop a lot in the coming days. The Dynamos are ahead, their home fans are happy, join us back for the second half in a bit to see if Pune City can extricate themselves from this situation.
45+2' With that strike, the Dynamos have just wrestled the advantage and it has given the entire side a huge boost.

The half-time whistle blows, the hosts ahead thanks to an unbelievable

HT: Delhi Dynamos 1-0 Pune City
44' WHAT A STRIKE! BLOODY HELL!

Rana Gharami with an absolute corker from 40 yards out gives the home side the lead.

No one expected a shot from him that far out, but what a strike from the man making his ISL debut.

That's a sure-shot contender for Goal of the season!

Take a bow man!

Dynamos 1-0 Pune City
41' Been a while since we've seen Ashique on the ball. Here he is.... dribble, dribble, touch off the defender... Corner!
38' The Delhi keeper looks like a real weak-link here. Off a Diaz long free-kick he comes for it, but then stops. Alfaro was making his own run towards the ball, but seemed to be put off by the keeper there. For the Dynamos' sake, Dorronsoro hopefully gets himself sorted.

Pune will be hoping his jittery night continues.
36' It is the end of the game for Bikramjit. He is stretchered off the field. Vinit Rai comes on for him. Early change here for the Dynamos.

OFF: Bikramjit Singh
ON: Vinit Rai
35' THIS DOESN'T LOOK GOOD!

Bikramjit has gone down in much discomfort clutching the groin area. He has had problems in the past as well with injuries in that area. Not looking good.
34' Dynamos Ultras and their other fans beginning to find their voice here. They are trying their best to rally their boys.
32' Half an hour into this game, Delhi have come into it more. Pune haven't been able to create much after those early runs from Ashique.
31' ALL ACTION ZUIVERLOON

Delhi's new import brings the ball forward himself from defence, sees space opening up and takes a shot. The ball thuds off a Pune player and Zuiverloon scrambles back to fight and win it back as the Dynamos keep possession.
29' Corner to Delhi

Mihelic releases Kaludjerovic who peels off to the right and crosses the ball for Zuiverloon who is claiming a handball, but it's just a corner.

Nothing much comes of the corner.
26' CONFRONTATION!

Ahhhh... a bit of fun here. Stankovic and the Delhi coach, Josep Gombau, are having a bit of verbals on the touchline. The referee comes charging in to prevent any escalation. Silly there from Gombau, he picked up the ball and refused to hand it back to Stankovic. Petty stuff!
25' Pune earning a string of corners here, but they're not making the most of it.

Stankovic's latest effort has gone above and beyond everyone in the box.
23' Dorronzoro looks SHAKY!

He's punched the ball from the corner straight onto a Pune player. Lucky for Delhi there it didn't rebound straight back into goal. He's looked edgy tonight their keeper thus far.
22' Pune with their first shot on goal...

It's Alfaro, who peels off the last man and takes a shot which is off the defender and out for a corner.
22' The Dynamos are just starting to click here...
20' SO, SO CLOSE!

Dynamos with an excellent attack that almost results in the first goal. Chhangte shreds his man on the left and gets into the box before squaring for the onrushing Kaludjerovic. However, the ball is just a bit heavy, but Nandha gets to it and unleashes a powerful shot from close range, but it's high over the bar.

A very good chance there!
17' DYNAMOS FORCE A SAVE!

New left-back Das finds room and makes a run into the box and takes a low shot from a tight angle. Kaith makes the save.

Delhi fans: Das has never scored in four seasons of the ISL. He has 1 international goal though for India.
13' RUN MACHINE ASHIQUE!

Ashique goes galloping down the left again, skips past his defender and this time it's a good ball in for Alfaro, but the defence gets there ahead of him to clear the danger. Ashique has had the ball more than anyone else thus far and has been really impressive.
Pune have started well and have looked sharp in the attacking third. Still no clear-cut chances for either side though.
11' The long-limbed Ashique is at it again...

This time an overhead ball behind the defence gets him going and he has acres of space to run into. His end product though is still lacking and the chance fizzles out.
9' Alfaro and Ashique combining well early here

The ball comes weaving through to Alfaro who takes possession in the middle, gets it out to Ashique who provides a good pass for Adil Khan who has made a great run from midfield. His touch is bad though.

5' Here come the Dynamos...

They pick up a loose ball in midfield and charge forward through Chhangte. They get the ball wide, but the cross into the box is not good.
4' Greeeeat early chance for the Stallions!

Fanai plays a lovely ball down the left flank for Ashique who runs onto it and crosses a first-time ball into the box for the onrushing Alfaro. But the Uruguayan is just a touch late to arrive. Good beginning.
2' Narayan Das with the first foul of the game.... Pune look to take it quickly, a bit like last night, but the ref says nothing doing.
Players are ready, officials ready, countdown done... let's football!

Off we go...
Pune fans, if you are wondering where on earth Marcelinho is, the answer is that he's still serving his suspension which is carrying over from last season. As a result he misses out here.
Here come the teams, Delhi in their usual all-white kit while Pune are sporting their new all-orange home kit.
I miss Pune's home kit from last season, that Adidas strip was quite something, one of the best jerseys ever in the ISL.
For Pune, it's the usual suspects taking the field. Alfaro leads the line ably supported by Ashique and Stankovic. Diego Carlos is on the bench.

This could be a very, very good game folks... fingers crossed!
So it looks like almost all of the big new additions to the Dynamos squad - Bikramjit, Mihelic, Tebar, Das - are all starting. Vinit Rai, who became the first choice defensive midfielder under Portugal last season is on the bench.

That's a quality team on paper, if they can deliver Delhi will be really good this season.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's minute-by-minute coverage of the 2018-19 Indian Super League!

Today we are off to the national capital as Delhi Dynamos play host to their former coach Miguel Angel Portugal and his new team, FC Pune City.
Delhi Dynamos v FC Pune City | MATCH 5

It's a meeting between familiar faces tonight as the Delhi Dynamos host Pune City.

There has been much movement between these two teams in the off-season with Dynamos coach from last year, Miguel Angel Portugal, now in-charge of Pune City. Marcos Tebar has gone the other way meanwhile, the midfielder back with Delhi for a second stint after turning out for Pune last time around.

The Dynamos finished eighth in the table last season, accumulating just five wins through their campaign and conceded the most goals of any team in the competition. A lot has changed since then however with Spaniard Josep Balague taking over from Portugal as head coach along with the arrival of players such as Bikramjit Singh, Narayan Das, Rene Mihelic and Tebar who all played key roles for their former sides last season. Serbian striker Andrija Kaludjerovic will look to fill the shoes of the departed Kalu Uche. They still have of course, two of the best wingers in the business, in Lallianzuala Chhangte and Nandhakumar.

Pune City made the semis in season four under the fiery Ranko Popovic and will look to repeat that feat this time around at the minimum. Portugal has always favoured expansive play and he has two of the best attackers the league has seen in Marcelinho and Emiliano Alfaro at his disposal this time around. Along with that duo, Brazilian Diego Carlos has also been retained as the core of the team from last year is still very much intact with mainstays such as Vishal Kaith and Adil KHan still around. Nikhil Poojari and Robin Singh have been signed to bolster the forward ranks.
