PEEEEEEEP! PEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! PEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! A hattrick for Harry Kane. 2 goals for John Stones. Jesse Lingard chipped in with a peach. England 6-1 Panama.

And it was everything that such a scoreline would suggest.

It's coming home, lads.

Anyway, this is me, Shambhu Ajith, signing off. Hope y'all had a ball.

Just in case you missed this,

.

Ciao.
94' Panama foray forward for one last time and there's a bicycle attempt that doesn't connect and that fizzles out. We should be done right about now.
93' Interesting factoid from my man Amit Mishra, 'Panama drew in the first half with Belgium. They have drawn their second half with England. Commendable achievement.' I agree.
92' Nothing really needs to happen here and that's exactly how it has panned out.
90' 4 minutes of added time. Sterling with a delightful backheel on the edge of the area, finds Danny Rose. But the wing back's cross is poor.
89' Stonesey almost gets a flick on the ball but no, he really doesn't and Penedo collects it.
89' England have a freekick on the left flank, 35 yards away. They're taking their sweet time to take it. Ashley Young will take it.
86' Fabian Delph pulls off some acrobatic magic to bring the ball down but then he had to pass the ball and he does a sh*te job at that. But come on, what more can you ask of him? All that yoga's coming good, eh, Fabian?
84' Foul on Avila and Panama have a freekick, 40 odd yards away. Can he swing as good a ball as he did for their opener? No, he can't. England defenders head it clear.
83' Ah, we've arrived at dullsville. Can we just blow the whistle and get it over with?
81' Sterling breaking quickly and tries to curl one into the top corner but his shot fizzes past the post and hits the advertisement hoardings.
80' England taking their time, probing in an attempt to find space in the final third. But they're happy to tap it around and run down the clock.
77' PANAMA SCORE! The substitute BALOY sends it home. First goal for Panama in World Cup history.

The freekick from the left flank is played into the penalty spot and Baloy, the 37-year-old veteran slides in to poke it past Pickford and puts the Panama fans on a transport of delight. What a moment! Just look what it means to them. They're jumping about like this game wasn't done and dusted an hour ago.
75' Torres misses! Cooper flicks it on to the far post from the corner and Roman Torres couldn't put the finishing touches on it.
75' Rodriguez whips one into the box from the left and Danny Rose intervenes, unwarranted, and sends it out for a corner.
72' The ball is floated deep into the box and following some dolphin nose pinball inside the area, the ball falls for Henderson who tries to volley it to the top corner. However, he drags it a bit wide and is furious with himself. Easy, Hendo. You've done good.
71' Murillo drags Sterling and then hacks him from behind and sends him clutching the grass. He gets a yellow card. He won't feature in the next game and that essentially means that he can go home right now.
70' Took me and my homeboy Rohith 70 minutes to figure out Panama's blueprint going forward. Should have afforded as more of an opportunity, don't you think? Or we are utterly incompetent. Ought to be the former, lads. Ought to be.
69' England make a switch as well.

Kieran Trippier off. Danny Rose on.
68' Substitutions for Panama.

Barcenas off. Arroyo on.

Gabriel Gomez off. Baloy on.
65' Panama create a great chance out of nowhere. Murillo is played in through on the right side of the box by Barcenas' delicious through ball. He tries to dink it over Pickford but the goalkeeper gets a touch on it and there are 3 England defenders standing on the goalline and they see it clear. More of that, please, Panama.
63' Substitution for England.

Jesse Lingard is off and walks off to a warm 'I told you, you got this' from Gareth Southgate and Fabian Delph will take his place.
62' Substitution for England.

Harry Kane off. Jamie Vardy joins the party.
61' HATTRICK FOR HARRY KANE! HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT THOUGH.

Loftus-Cheek goes for goal with his left foot and it clips Harry Kane's heel and it goes over Penedo and into the goal. Lucky lucky Kane. He'll claim it, we know it.
60' Vardy and Fabian Delph are getting ready to come on for England.
59' If you thought Panama were adequately resolute despite Belgium belting 3 past them in the first round, you must have your tail between your legs now. They seemed to have crumbled under the grandiosity of the occasion.
57' Kieran Trippier daftly pokes the ball away from Davis as he is flagged offside and the Panama full back returns in kind with a push.
56' Rodriguez trips Trippier and concede a freekick.
55' Barcenas floats one into the box and it's too high for Perez. But Panama have a throw-in on the left flank.
53' Walker's ball is dipping dangerously in the middle of the box but Torres thumps it clear.
52' Panama are sitting so deep. The trauma is showing. An ever mobile Jesse Lingard is still cuasing some chaos between the lines but he does not get the return ball from Loftus-Cheek but England do have a throw-in on the right flank, near the corner flag. They try to work a way into the box but end up receiving a corner kick. They've been so good from set-pieces.
51' Harry Kane is bullied to the ground from behind by Godoy, in the centre of the park and they have a freekick.
50' Rodriguez floats it in but Walker clears it with his head.
49' England are now sitting back and are happy to let Panama have the ball but Walker, being a dummy, ushers the ball out for a corner.
47' Godoy finds Barcenas on the right flank with space to exploit. Barcenas slides it into the box for Cooper but it lacks the precision it should have carried and Pickford picks it up rather easily.
46' Maguire extends a lovely ball into the box for Kane to chase but it's a bit too heavy and he has to reshuffle and then plays in Sterling into the box. He, in turn, slides it across to Loftus-Cheek but Torres clears the danger before the midfielder can get to it.
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! And we're off in the second half. Can England score more? Let's find out.
It's a rout, ladies and gentleman. A deflated Panama team will now saunter out onto the pitch. More of the same, yeah?
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! England are running riot and I need to catch my breath too. England are 5 goals to the good as the ref blows his whistle to pull the shutter on the first half. 5 star performance. Woof.
45' Harry Kane joins Lukaku and Ronaldo on the top of the goalscorers' table as he bangs it again to the same corner. Penedo goes the wrong way this time. England 5-0 Panama. This is a horror movie as far as Panama are concerned now.
43' IT'S YET ANOTHER PENALTY! TRIPPIER IS CLAWED TO THE GROUND BY MURILLO. GODOY WRESTLES WITH HARRY KANE. I MEAN, WHAT IS GOING ON?! HARRY KANE WILL TAKE IT.
42' Jesse Lingard goes for goal after he is gifted the ball outside the box by Sterling once again. This time though, Panama do get the block in and England will have to be satisfied with a corner.
41' England are dismantling panama at the moment. They are just so good going forward. Imagine introducing the directness of Marcus Rashford into this. Get the lad in and let him get some.
39' WHAT IS THIS SET-PIECE PLAY AND ALL MY LORD! I'M LOSING MY MIND! STONES POKES IT PAST PENEDO!
38' England have a freekick 30 yards away and all 10 of England's outfield players have huddled around it. Trippier sends them away and says, 'Lads, I've got this.' He'll take it.
37' Rodriguez and Barcenas combine on the left flank for Panama and the latter swings one in early and Godoy can't put the finishing touches on it as Pickford leaves it be and lets it run out for a goalkick.
36' JLINGZ JLINGZ JLINGZ MY MAN! WHAT A SCREAMER!

He creates the chance and then he destroys Panama at the end of it. Plays a lovely little one-two with Sterling before breaking into space on the edge of the area and curls it into the top corner to score the quintessential Jesse Lingard goal. If you see grown men running around the street howling, do not be alarmed. They're just Manchester United fans.
33' Maybe England shouldn't have scored that second goal. They don't seem too enthusiastic about going forward now. Sigh.
31' Trippier floats it in to the far post and Maguire heads it across but it lands on the roof of the net and Panama can breathe easy. Sterling was lurking on the other side and would have had an easy tap-in if the ball fell kindly for him.
30' Gomez DDT-s Sterling and condemns him to the grass and England have a freekick, 40 yards away from goal. Trippier is standing by it.
29' Perez finds Cooper on the edge of the area and Rodriguez is played into the box but his shot is wayward. Yet another chance scuppered by poor finishing. Tunisia have been impressive going forward but have nothing to show for it.
27' Rodriguez, Godoy and Davis try to use some triangular passing movement to break through to the attacking third but the Englishmen hold their fort down strongly and queer their pitch.
26' Once again, another long ball almost releases Sterling into the box but he is flagged offside.
24' Walker plays yet another lovely diagonal ball into the box but this time, Lingard can't quite bring it down. But he does enough to prevent the goalkick and instead sends it out for a throw-in. England's long ball game is actually impressive. Their creators have identified the runners and are on the same page.
22' Loftus-Cheek is shown a yellow card for an infringement.
22' That strike had confidence lathered all over it. There's no stopping shots like that, lads. Boom.
21' HURRICANE STRIKES! HARRY KANE TAKES HIS TALLY TO 3 BY BANGING THE BALL PAST PENEDO.

This match might just get over inside the first half an hour.
19' England have won a penalty! Escobar and Torres mow him down from behind and it's a clear cut penalty.

Lingard was played in on goal by a beautiful dinked pass by Trippier.

17' Torres is back on the pitch as England try to weave their way forward from the back.
16' Roman Torres gets caught by Raheem Sterling as the former tries to clear the ball and is down on the ground and is in some pain. The medics are out on the field.
14' Murillo gets away from Ashley Young with an eye-catching turn and slides it across to Barcenas on the edge of the area. Barcenas shifts it to his left and tries to curl one in past Pickford. Unfortunately, his shot falls just wide of the mark. Panama are creating some really good chances.
13' Escobar gives it away, straight to Henderson and the Liverpool captain tries to thread it through to Harry Kane. But his pass is overhit and Penedo comes out to collect it before Hurrycane can swoop it up.
11' Barcenas sends it low from the right flank and it's falling straight into the path of Perez but Walker puts in one heck of a last-ditch tackle to save England the blushes.
9' Lingard is mowed down by Cooper in the middle of the park and he gets a yellow card for that. He will miss their match against Tunisia.
7' JOHN STONESSSSSSSSSSS! HE NODS IT IN AND ENGLAND HAVE MADE THE BREAKTHROUGH!

Stones runs through the centre of the box, unchecked, unmarked and rises to meet the ball and slot it into the bottom corner. First goal for the City defender. What a moment!
6' Walker floats a lovely long ball, deep into the attacking third and Trippier reaches it but Davis intervenes to send it out for a corner. Trippier will take it.
6' England looking a little surprised by the Panama attack. But here they are, trying to work something from the back.
4' Panama miss a great chance to go in front. Godoy shoots miles over and away from the post after Murillo and Barcenas laboured to take it there.
3' Jose Rodriguez is fouled by Trippier on the left flank and Panama have a freekick. Davis floats it in and it is too high for Gomez and is cleared by Kane. It falls to Barcenas who goes for glory from 35 yards out and sends the ball over to the spectators in the stands.
1' Trippier extends a lovely ball which is chased down by Sterling. The Manchester City man cuts inwards from the corner flag and finds Lingard but Escobar cuts it out and subsequently they all collide in one giant explosion in the centre of the box and Lingard is down on the ground and the medics are here. Boy got elbowed on either side of his face by 2 different players. He ate an elbow sandwich.
PEEEEEEEEEEP! And Jesse Lingard has rolled the ball and the clock's running. England attack from right to left on the tv screen.
I'm particularly chuffed with the inclusion of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. He brings a whole new dimension to England's attacking play.
The pre-match diplomacy has taken centre-stage. Panama are in their Reds and the Englishmen are in their classic whites. We will kick off in a matter of minutes. Do not go anywhere.

Is it coming home, lads?
The Three Lions are as optimistic as they've ever been. They're a team that thrives on youthful exuberance and though one of their vital cogs, Dele Alli, will miss out due to a thigh injury, they will be charged to see how the dynamic playmaker steps up to the task.

Harry Kane has already scored 2 goals. Jesse Lingard has impressed in parts and Jordan Henderson has been belting those diagonals like Paulsy Scholesey. Trippier has been reliable on the flanks and has also been dispensing his set-piece duties with aplomb. Tunisia are a quality side and England did well to run riot in the opening half an hour and hence, they will be expected to come out swinging against Panama as well.

As for Panama, it's a do or die situation. If they win today, they will have a bit of a hope to hold on to. However, that win might be difficult to come by. Belgium put 3 past the Panama defence and they will need to be on their toes throughout the the length of the 90 if they're to have a chance of keeping England at bay.

England vs Panama: Team News

Dele Alli sustained a minor thigh injury from England's opening game against Tunisia. Although he has returned to training, he is unlikely to feature for the Three Lions. As a result, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who impressed in the last few outings, is expected to start alongside Jesse Lingard in attacking midfield.

So according to the Daily Telegraph, who have backed their claim with pictorial evidence, Gareth Southgate is set to opt for a 3-5-2 with Rashford taking over Raheem Sterling's position.

As for Panama, there are no injury woes for Hernan Dario Gomez. Their experienced squad is in good shape to take on the Englishmen. But the manager might make a change to his starting lineup by bringing on Luis Tejada to up the ante going forward.

England vs Panama: Probable lineups

England: Jordan Pickford; John Stones, Harry Maguire, Kyle Walker; Kieran Trippier, Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard, Jordan Henderson, Marcus Rashford, Ruben Loftus-Cheek; Harry Kane

Panama: Penedo; Murillo, Escobar, Torres, Davis; Gomez, Godoy, Cooper, Diaz, Barcenas; Tejada

England vs Panama: Form guide

England: W-D-W-W-W

England have been in good form. They looked menacing in attack with all their freshmen looking comfortable and more importantly, looking like a cohesive unit. England are expected to make a grand statement of sorts against Panama, if you ask me.

Panama: L-W-D-L-L

Panama's only win in the last 5 games came against minnows Trinidad and Tobago and had no real response to offer as they were being torn apart by the formidable Belgian attack in their opening match of the campaign.

England vs Panama: Key Players

Harry Kane is perhaps the most important player in this England squad. He proved to be the difference between England and Tunisia last week and he could prove to be the difference once again. Other than Kane, I expect Marcus Rashford to have a telling impact on the game if he starts.

As for Panama, Gabriel Gomez will be key. He did quite a solid job against Belgium having completed all 46 of his attempted passes and helping out the defence from midfield. He will need to screen his backline against the threat that will be posed by Jesse Lingard and Loftus-Cheek.
