A well-balanced game at the end of it. Ronald Koeman will be happy with a point but Pochettino would be disappointed. But on the balance of play a point is a fair result.

Everton started the better as Ross Barkley's free-kick caught the Spurs defence off guard and it sneaked into the back of the net. Spurs were second best in the first half and Everton could have made it 2-0 but Deulefeu missed a one-on-one chance in the dying seconds of the first half.

Spurs started to grow into the game in the second half and finally found a way tough as Walker who had been their best player in the game put in a cross that Lamela headed into the far corner to level it up.

Spurs continued to pile on the pressure from then on as Everton held on for the point. Alli missed a notable chance but other than tthat, no clear way through for LilyWhites as they start off with a draw

...

Peeeep! Peeeep! PeeeeP! Full Time Everton 1-1 Spurs

...

90' 3 minutes of added time as Lamela once again finds space for a header from a Walker cross but this time no power or direction on it and Jagielka did enough.

...

88' Another corner for Spurs! Everton hanging in here!

...

88' Just 2 minutes plus stoppage time to go. Can any one of these teams find a winner?

...

85' The game si slowly opening up as both sides are trying to find a winner but Spurs want it more right now. Everton just looking to counter

...

84' LAMELA HITS THE POST! The Argentine's effort is tipped brilliantly by the keeper on top of the crossbar!

...

83' Eriksen fires just over! Lands on the roof of the net!

...

82" Foul right on the edge of the area as Barry trips Rose! This is Eriksen territory! Lamela also over it

...

81' GREAT SAVE BY STEKLENBERG! The corner came in and Rose volleyed it the shot fell to Janssen but somehow the keeper kept out his close-range shot. You would have expected him to score there!

...

79' Spurs still in ascendency as they keep banging on the door but so far Everton have kept it well shut

...

76' Aaron Lennon the former Spurs man is coming on for Kevin Mirallas. Lennon made 364 apps for Spurs before leaving for pastures new

...

73' Everton not able to hold onto possession like they did in the beginning of this half but still not allowing Spurs enough room in attack

...

71' SPurs definately have the momentum but still trying find a way through this well-drilled defence since that goal from Lamela

...

67' It's anybody's game now! Both teams trying to find that vital breakthrough

...

63' Now Everton are the ones looking nervy at the back! Spurs are  playing much better after that goal. It has given them some confidence!

...

61' A great ball once again from Kyle Walker and Lamela makes his movement in the box gets ahead of his marker and diverts a header into the far corner as Steklenberg stretches to his right but can't get to it!

...

60' ITS 1-1!!! Lamela equalises for Spurs!!

...

57' Janssen involved immediately! The striker crosses into the box and the low ball sets up Alli perfectly for the shot but hesky's high. Wasn't in the right shape to take that one !

...

56' Eric Dier is coming off and new man Vincent Janssen has come on! So the gloves are off and Pochettino goes into attack mode

...

53' Deulefeu tries one from long distance but it's maybe a little too ambitious from the Spaniard

...

52' Everton keeping possession really well not allowing Spurs any of the ball to create chances

...

51' Deulofeu again causing problems as his speed gets the better of Alderweireld but the defender recovers to win the ball and concede a corner

...

48' Everton have blocked everything Spurs have thrown at them so far! Kane has had zero service thanks to the wonderful pressing and defence from the toffees

...

The second half is underway!!

...

Half Time: Everton 1-0 Spurs

...

45' ALMOST 2 FOR EVERTON! A loose pass from Spurs puts Deulofeu one-on-one with Vorm but his finish is poor!

...

43' Walker has made a 1000 runs down that right flank as Spurs continue to persist attacking from that side

...

41' Deulofeu was clever there in trying to make a run from a quick throw in but Rose stopped the run. Surprisingly the referee did not give a foul

...

38' Great defending! A teasing ball in from Walker is very well anticipated by Jagielka. Kane was lurking and the defended needed to make that clearance

...

37' Wanyama gives away another foul, this time on Barry but still no Yellow card

...

35' Hugo Lloris is being substituted and Vorm is coming on! A lot of FPL managers are now worried!

...

34' Spurs haven't settled into their rhythm but a missed tackle by Barry has allowed for a corner

...

32' Everton have their own N'Golo Kante in Idrissa Gueye. The little engine made the second most interceptions last season second only to the new Chelsea man

...

29' Everton are not letting the Spurs midfield boss them around closing them down quickly and forcing them to look for Harry Kane with a long ball

...

27' SHOT FROM ERIKSEN! Spurs create some space in front of the Everton box after some neat passing and the Dane uses that to try and curl one first time with his right foot but not enough power or direction to trouble Stekelenburg

...

22' Eriksen and Walker try to play a quick 1-2 to get behind the defence but Walker pulls down Baines in an attempt to beat him to the pass

...

20' Everton asking all the questions at the moment! Deulofeu finds Mirallas with a ball behind the defence but his angle is too tight and the shot is straight at Lloris who is well positioned at the near post

...

19' Everton are showing a solidity in defence they did not have last season. Koeman has understood what they were lacking and has worked his magic so far!

...

17' BARKLEY'S Header wide!! Baines with a great ball into the box and the defender does enough to put off Barkley's header
