Chelsea went back to winning ways when they beat Hull City 2-0 at the KCOM Stadium. After a frustrating first half where the Blues failed to land a shot on target, two quick goals from Willian and Diego Costa in the second half saw Antonio Conte's side snap a three-game winless streak to move up to 13 points from seven games.
Hull City, on the other hand, failed to test Thibaut Courtois after giving him an early scare when a Robert Snodgrass free-kick was almost deflected into the net. The Tigers only had three shots on goal but it was the Blues that dominated the game from start to finish.
94' The game is just winding down now. Hull know they don't even stand a chance of grabbing a point. Can they ensure Chelsea go home without a clean sheet, though?
90+2' Nothing going right for Hull City and Mike Phelan simply stands on the touchline and wonders where he went wrong.
90' FOUR MINUTES added on.
89' PEDROOO... MISS! HOW? Alonso does well to get to the goal line and send a cross into the six-yard box. Pedro comes sprinting in and connects but his shot goes wide of the far post.
87' OSCAAARRR... SAVE! The Brazilian midfielder controls the ball outside the box and unleashes a strike to Marshall's left and he dives to parry it away.
85' SUBSTITUTION: Victor Moses comes off for Pedro.
83' Chelsea in full control at the moment. Anyone remember what colour kit Courtois is wearing? All action in Hull's half now.
80' Costaaa.... TOO HIGH! A Chelsea free-kick sees the ball fall to Costa at the far post and the striker goes for power rather than precision. Someone check the cars outside the stadium to check if any windshields were broken.
77' PENALTY... NOPE! Chelsea are playing some delicious football at the moment. Costa and Willian combine to send the Brazilian through before he is clipped inside the box. Replays show he lost the ball and though there was a bit of contact in Curtis Davies' follow through, Willian simply flopped to the ground.
74' Marcos Alonso gets a shot away in the box but it is blocked. Chelsea are not sitting back and want more.
71' SUBSTITUTION: Markus Henriksen comes off after making his first Premier League start. Abel Hernandez comes on as Hull search for a goal.
67' Matic drives forward with the ball and takes a shot that was blocked. But the ball falls kindly to Diego Costa who curls it past Marshall to find the back of the net! That goal was very similar to Willian's effort and from almost the same position.
66' Matiiiiic... SAVED! A corner kick sees Willian find the big Serbian and his header directed backwards is saved by Marshall.
65' Chelsea are on the front foot now. Attack after attack sees Courtois a mere spectator at the other end.
7 - Willian has scored seven PL goals since the start of last season, only Diego Costa has more for Chelsea. Up.— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) October 1, 2016
61' Chelsea win the ball back and Willian finds Costa who returns the favour. A quick turn at the edge of the box sees Willian outfox three defenders and he curls the ball past a stranded Marshall to make it 1-0.
58' HOW DID THEY MISS? Kante releases Costa and he skips past an onrushing Marshall before firing a shot goalward. It comes off the post and Kante is there to clean up but his shot goes over the bar. Lucky, lucky break for Hull! That should have been 1-0!.
56' N'Golo Kante charges through the middle and thinks about taking a shot before eyeing Hazard out of the corner of his eye. He tries to scoop it over the defence but it's far too high and Marshall comfortably catches it as Hazard simply looks on like a kid who lost his balloon at a party.
54' It doesn't look too serious and Meyler comes back on just in time to provide some cover as Chelsea break.
53' David Meyler seems to have a problem. We're not quite sure what's wrong but he's shaking his head as the physios escort him off the pitch. Mike Phelan considers making a substitution but is waiting for an update.
51' Costa attempts a backheel pass to find his teammates but Hull are alert to his plan. They intercept and clear. Costa looks frustrated, as he usually is when things don't go his way.
49' Chelsea have had two corner kicks in a row now. But Willian has struggled to find the right delivery in this game. He hasn't sent it in deep and Hull manage to clear.
46' Conte has obviously asked Chelsea to ATTACK and they've had two shots in one minute! Costa had an attempt that was blocked before Alonso's low drive was saved by Marshall.
46' And we're back underway at KC Stadium
Antonio Conte will be happy with Chelsea's defensive organisation but will be concerned with the shots on goal. The Blues took six shots, none of which were on target. Will he make a change in midfield with both Fabregas and Oscar on the bench?
45+2' SAVE! Mason attempts a piledriver of a shot from distance and Courtois dives to his left to make the save. He concedes a corner which Chelsea clear comfortably.
45' Another set-piece, another simple take for Hull goalkeeper Marshall. Still no way past the Scottish goalkeeper.
41' YELLOW CARD! Nemanja Matic is booked for a terrible tackle to break up an attack. Taylor is not impressed and neither is Conte on the touchline.
40' Chelsea counter through Moses who feeds Costa on the left. The striker, in turn, tries to find Hazard in the centre but Hull intercept and clear yet again. Chelsea have mounted a few decent attacks but Marshall has not really been tested.
37' Chelsea have another free-kick and this time David Luiz allows Willian to take it. His delivery into the box goes into a crowd of players and Hull eventually clear the ball.
34' YELLOW CARD! Victor Moses goes into referee Anthony Taylor's book for a second foul in as many minutes. This time, there's no escape for the Nigerian winger.
32' CORNER! A Hull free-kick sees Snodgrass put a dangerous ball in and Costa took the safe option of booting it out of play before a Hull played made contact. Nothing comes of the corner and Chelsea have the ball back in possession.
31' Eden Hazard is hungry for a goal. Agan, he makes another charging run into the final third. But he's taken on one defender too many and a desperate attempt to play in Diego Costa is snuffed out by Hull.
28' CORNER! A cross into the box is headed clear and Chelsea have a corner but Willian's delivery is caught by David Marshall who held on despite the pressure.
24' PENALTY? Not according to the referee! Moses attempts a couple of stepovers before falling over in the box. But to the referee's credit, nobody else protested. But replays suggest there was contact and may have been given if Moses had not made a theatrical fall to the ground.
