HYD vs MUM Match Result - ISL 2019-20
1 - 1
Mumbai City
M. Stankovic (P) 90'+4'
43' M. Larbi (P)
That's all for the day and stay tuned to Sportskeeda for the latest updates on ISL and Indian Football.
Hyderabad FC play their third draw of the season and increases their point tally to 6. Mumbai City, on the other hand, have a major set-back, dropping two points and have narrowed their chances to make it to the playoffs. The Islanders sit at the fifth spot with 20 points from 14 games and would be hoping Jamshedpur FC and Chennaiyin FC drop points in their upcoming fixtures.
A dramatic end to the game as Hyderabad FC win a very late penalty which Stankovic converted with ease. Though it was a debatable decision from the referee, HFC will take it with pleasure. After a silent start to the game, Mumbai City scored through Larbi's penalty in late minutes of the first half. The second half saw both the teams attack more but still missing the final cut. However, Jorge Costa's decision to sit back with a one-goal lead misfired as the referee called a late penalty.
94' GOAL! Marko Stankovic makes no mistake from the spot. The midfielder places the ball to his left and Amrinder dives to his right. Hyderabad rescues a point.
93' PENALTY! Hyderabad FC win a penalty in the stoppage time. Bobo has the ball inside the penalty box and Pratik Chaudhari fouls the striker inside the box. Chance for HFC to secure a point.
92' Raynier gets a ball from the middle, looks for options and attempts a chip at goal from distance. But Kattimani is in position to collect the ball.
Four minutes of added time for the second half.
86' Bobo finds Giles Barnes with a header and the latter is challenged by Pratik Choudhari. The stopper-back wins the duel and clears the ball for a throw-in.
85' Mumbai City too completes their options on the bench.
ON - Bipin Singh
OFF - Mohammed Larbi
84' Third and final change for Hyderabad FC.
ON - Giles Barnes
OFF - Nikhil Poojari
81' Marcelinho tries cutting into the box from the left and beats Sarthak Golui. However, he can't get past Diego Carlos dropping deep to defend.
79' Second change for Mumbai City
ON - Bidyananda Singh
OFF - Sourav Das
78' Pratik Choudhari is shown a yellow card for a foul against Nikhil Poojari. The midfielder was running with pace and could be dangerous if left alone.
76' Carlos with a dangerous and low cross into the box. Kevyn is in position but Adil Khan gets the better of him to clear the ball for a corner.
74' Kilgallon again rises above his marker from a Marcelinho corner. But the result remains the same as the defender misses by a wider margin this time.
73' Serge Kevyn is booked by the referee for dissent.
72' OFFSIDE! Sahil Tavora with a through ball to Bobo but the linesman spots the Brazilian in an offside position.
70' First change for Mumbai City.
ON - Raynier Fernandes
OFF - Amine Chermiti
66' CHANCE! Halder makes an instant impact with a move on the left flank. Golui clears the ball for a corner. Kilgallon comes close to goal from the corner but misses the target by inches.
64' Second change for Hyderabad FC.
ON - Abhishek Halder
OFF - Mohammed Yasir
HFC are trying hard to get anything out of this fixture.
63' SHOT! Nikhil Poojari moves with pace and passes to Marcelinho 35-yards away from goal. The attacker tries a shot from distance but is straight at Amrinder and no Hyderabad FC player is in position to collect the rebound.
61' Kervyn breaks on the counter after Marcelinho's cross from the left. Larbi collects the ball from Kevyn and crosses to Diego Carlos inside the box. Sahil Panwar makes a mess of the ball in a dangerous area but the Mumbai player fails to convert the golden chance. Marcelinho again goes on the counter but cannot find any product.
59' CHANCE! Hyderabad earns a corner from the right and creates a dangerous situation from the second-ball. Marcelinho whips in an unexpected cross from the right and Bobo attempt but misses. However, the linesman had his flag raised against the striker.
58' SHOT! Diego Carlos runs past his marker, cuts-in from the right-wing and takes a shot but the attempt is weak and easily collected by Kattimani.
57' Diego Carlos whips in a cross to Larbi from the right-wing. The goal scorer tries for a volley from close range but Sahil Panwar makes a vital block. Kattimani collects the ball with ease.
53' No change in tempo of the game even in the second half as both the teams are culpable of silly miss passes. While Hyderabad FC are attempting to break in through the wings, Mumbai City are looking to keep possession. However, both the plans are not yielding any useful product.
49' Marcelinho finds Yasir on the left-wing but the final delivery remains below par.
46' Substitution for Hyderabad FC.
ON - Laldanmawia Ralte
OFF - Sahil Panwar
46' Mumbai City get us underway for the second half.
Mumbai City secures a crucial lead in the dying minutes through Mohammed Larbi. Though a cold first half, the Islanders will be happy to walk back into the tunnel with a goal to defend. It was Costa's side dominating the entire half, particularly through Serge Kevyn. But still, Modou Sougou's absence is felt through the pedestrian pace of their attacks.
Can Hyderabad FC come back from behind to clinch a point or will Mumbai City increase the tally? Stay tuned to find out.
One minute of added time.
43' GOAL! Mohammed Larbi takes Mumbai City into the lead. The midfielder places the ball to Kattimani's left. The custodian jumps to his left but still can't keep the ball out.
42' PENALTY! Mumbai City wins a penalty as Nikhil Poojari handles the ball inside the box. A long ball is chipped to Kevyn and Kattimani advances to clear the danger. However, Poojari in an attempt to clear the danger handles the ball and the referee spots it.
39' Back-to-back corners for Mumbai City but Adil Khan rises to the occasion each time to avert the danger.
38' Mumbai City hit Hyderabad FC on the counter. Larbi finds Kevyn on the left flank this time and he runs into the box with pace. Adil Khan, however, confidently slides to take the ball out for a corner.
35' SHOT! The resultant free-kick is taken by Marko Stankovic and the midfielder places it on target. But, Amrinder Singh keeps his position to collect the ball without danger.
34' Sourav Das goes into the referee's book for a foul on Marcelinho. Bobo chests the ball to Marcelinho and he storms forward with options on either side. Das pulls his from behind and is the first player to be booked on the night.
30' Serge Kevyn with yet another cross from the right-wing. As usual, Adil Khan rises high and clears the aerial threat. Hyderabad FC need to be wary of the winger.
26' Bobo and Marcelinho combine well again. Marcelinho receives a pass from the former and makes a speedy run, enters the box and sends in a ground-cross to Bobo. The Brazilian, however, is a few yards behind.
24' An excellent interchange between Marcelinho and Bobo. The former passes to Bobo and the striker drops deep to lodge a ball for Marcelinho. The pass is finally intercepted and goes out for a corner. However, HFC fails to convert the set-piece.
22' Marcelinho's diagonal ball to Yasir on the right flank is again wide. Hyderabad FC have been clueless in the attacking third so far.
19' SHOT! Sourav Das finds Chermiti in the middle and the striker splits the defense with a pass for Diego Carlos. But, Kattimani is in the right position to block the shot and later collect it.
16' Sahil Tavora passes to Asish Rai on the right flank and the fullback crosses into the middle. However, the ball is a bit too far for Marcelinho and ends up as a Mumbai City goal-kick.
14' OFFSIDE! Larbi releases Golui on the right and the fullback makes an inch-perfect delivery into the box. Larbi then moves into the box to shoot into the net but the linesman raises his flag as the ball had crossed the line during the cross.
11' Mumbai City have dominated the early exchanges. The visitors are controlling the midfield and resultingly Hyderabad have failed to weave any meaningful attacks.
9' Kevyn and Larbi combine for a cross into the box. The delivery is feeble and is no danger for Hyderabad.
8' Serge Kevyn wins a corner for Mumbai City. Larbi's delivery is cleared by Adil Khan and falls to Sourav Das. But, the youngster fails to make any use of it.
7' CHANCE! Chermiti releases Serge Kevyn on the left and the winger sends in a cross but is easily collected by Kattimani.
6' FOUL! Stankovic whips in a diagonal ball to Yasir on the left. However, the wingers collide with Sarthak Golui and Mumbai win a free-kick in their own half.
4' The game has had a cold start. A few long balls have been the only moves around the park so far and both the custodians are yet to be tested.
1' Bobo gets us underway here at the G.M.C stadium in Hyderabad.
We are only moments away from kickoff.
Up next is the Indian National Anthem.
The players are coming out of the tunnel. Hyderabad FC is wearing their home black and Mumbai City is donning their away yellow.
Mumbai City have all their power accumulated within the front three. Amine Chermiti, Modou Sougou and Mohamed Larbi have been running the show for the Islanders. The midfielders are doing a pretty good job for Costa, keeping the momentum on the pitch. Despite conceding 21 goals through the season, the defense has maintained shape and impressed.
Hyderabad FC have had issues in the defense line from the very beginning of the season. Even after good team performances and promising attacks at one end, they haven't been able to reduce the goals leaked at the back. The likes of Gurtej Singh and Matthew Kilgallon haven't lived up to the expectations and lack of defensive options on the bench hasn't helped too. Having conceded 31 goals so far, any improvement at the back would be a great feat for the ISL newbies.
When both the sides faced each other last time, Mumbai City emerged on the top thanks to a brace from Modou Sougou. The fixture at the Mumbai Football Arena saw the forward open the scoring in the 6th minute and further doubled in the second half. Hyderabad's reply was through Bobo in the 81st minute, which turned to be of no use. However, the Senegalese player will miss this fixture for the visitors.

Hyderabad make as many as five changes to the lineup that faced Odisha FC. Laxmikant Kattimani, Mohammed Yasir, Sahil Tavora, Laldanmawia Ralte and Marko Stankovic are promoted to the first XI.
Mumbai City's only change in the lineup is Serge Kevyn coming in for Modou Sougou.

"It’s a very important match for us. We have been aiming to finish in the top four since the beginning of the season. Now, with so few matches left, we can’t afford to make any mistakes. We need the three points. It’s one of the games we must win. We need to go back home with three points. But to do that, we need to focus and work hard.” Jorge Costa said in the pre-match press conference.
“We have about one and a half months until the end of the season. We will try and know all the players. We will try to win the next few games. It’s not easy but we are checking new players, younger players. We are really excited about our team. Our team, during the season, deserved to win more games. They lost due to a few details. Sometimes they made silly mistakes while defending, but they are creating chances. I think that we deserve to win more,” said the HFC interim head coach Javier Gurri Lopez.
Mumbai City after short-term despair are back on track with their 2-0 win against Bengaluru FC. The team had fallen prey to ATK and Odisha FC following their unbeaten run in December. With a satisfying victory behind, Mumbai will be in search of all three points against Hyderabad.
Hyderabad’s only victory this term came against Kerala Blasters back in November. The side hasn’t picked up points since then barring the draws against Bengaluru FC and ATK. The club also sacked Phil Brown and acquired the services of former Bengaluru FC gaffer Albert Roca. However, the Spanish manager will take charge of the team only from the next season.
Hyderabad FC have had a terrible season with only five points from thirteen games. Languishing at the bottom of the table, the team cannot make it to the playoffs but will be aiming to be the dark-horses for those still in the run. Mumbai City, on the other hand, is in a very tight race between Odisha FC and Jamshedpur FC for the fourth position. Jorge Costa’s side are fifth in the league 19 points from 13 games.
