PEEEP! PEEEEEP! PEEEEEEEEEP! It's all over here in Goa as the Asian Giants Iran gets all three points against a very determined side Guinea in the opening day. The scoreline does'nt actually reflect the nature of the game but Iran deserved it after being dominated by Guinea in the opening exchanges. Iran found the net at the 59th minute from a beast of a shot from A. Sayyad. Iran doubled the lead just eleven minutes later after a Penalty which was converted comfortably by Sharifi as Ghana were reduced to 10 men.

Ghana pushed up for restoring parity by pushing almost whole of their team up the pitch, eventually being punished on the counter by conceding a third goal as Karimi slotted it past none in an empty net. Guinea found some consolation as Fandje Toure scored with a calm and composed finish to make it 3-1.

Iran faces Germany on 10th October at 8 PM while Guinea faces Costa Rica at  5 PM on the same day. That's it from Sportskeeda for the day! It's Sayak signing off. See you soon.

HALF TIME : IRAN 0-0 GUINEA

Guinea started the half confidently with frequent visits into the Iranian Box, eventually hitting the post. Guinea had the lion's possession but Iran came back into the game slowly. A Half mostly played in the mid-field with several tackles and interceptions. Iran had a spree of corners at one point of time but to of no use. Guinea came close again courtesy a counter attack at the final third of the First half, which made Ali make a brilliant Save to deny Ghana.

Join us in 10 minutes for the second-half!
