Another brilliant performance by Liverpool. They were on the front foot right from the very first minute. Lallana scored the first of many on the night just over a quarter of an hour into the game. Milner then doubled the advantage from the penalty spot on the half hour mark. Mane put the game beyond Hull's reach with the third goal just six minutes later. Meyler then pulled one back for the visitors in the second half, but that was almost immediately followed by Coutinho's sweet long strike in the 52nd minute. Milner completed the rout with another penalty in the 71st minute, and that capped off a supremely dominant performance from Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
90+2' The ref brings the game to and end with a few blows of his whistle. Klopp's men walk away comfortably with the three points. Liverpool looked unstoppable. Hull City had a very tough game, but they need to learn from this and go on to fight for survival this season.
90' The referee has added two minutes of time to be played after the regulation 90.
85' Sturridge pokes a shot goalwards speculatively, but it goes just wide of the post.
80' The Reds are still pressing with such energy. The players look like vicious hounds chasing a juicy steak, crowding out the player with the ball and forcing errors. How fit are these men to still be running and closing down like that in the 80th minute?
75' Liverpool make a double change. Emre Can and Marko Grujic come on for Henderson and Coutinho. Both teams have used all three changes now.
74' Ryan Mason has come off for Henriksen.
71' It's another goal for Milner! 5-1. He goes the same way, and gets the same result.
70' Penalty for Liverpool. Robertson brings Daniel Sturridge down in the box.
69' Jurgen Klopp introduces Daniel Sturridge to the game. Adam Lallana is the man to make way for him.
64' Nothing comes of it, as the danger is cleared without too much fuss.
63' Another corner to Hull. Can they make something of this one as well?
60' Fifteen minutes into the second half, and Liverpool are cruising again. Except for that one blip where they conceded from a corner, they haven't put a foot wrong.
56' Milner plays it short to Lallana who whips the ball in, but a Hull defender managed to get his head to it first.
55' Corner to Liverpool.
52' Instantaneous response from Liverpool. Coutinho curls it in from range with a mean shot from range. Typical Coutinho.
51' Goal for Hull! The ball was whipped in from the corner, and after a whole bunch of bodies went for the ball, it fell to Meyler, who whacked it in. 3-1.
50' Firmino goes down inside the box. He did have his shirt pulled a bit, but going to ground was a little dramatic. The ref was never going to give that.
47' Mike Phelan made another change at half time. Harry Maguire has entered the fray in place of Tom Huddlestone.
45' We're back for the second half. The players are on the pitch and ready. Liverpool resume the action from kick-off.
45+3' The ref blows his whistle to bring the first half to a close. It's been a story of two completely contrasting sides. Liverpool have been completely and utterly dominant with 75% possession and 12 shots. Hull City meanwhile, haven't even registered a single shot in the game so far. Klopp will be absolutely delighted with his mens' performances and will expect more of the same in the second half. Mike Phelan must feel quite helpless right now, three goals and one man down, but he has to try something. May as well go all out and play for pride.
45' The fourth official indicates there will be three minutes of added time to play.
43' Hull City may as well not be on the field. Jurgen Klopp's men are running rampant, playing for fun. What a display!
39' Snodgrass is down. The Scotsman seems to have some issue with his ankle.
38' Ryan Mason gets his name taken down by the ref for a poor challenge from behind on Coutinho.
36' Another goal! Sadio Mane this time. Lallana picked him out inside the box, and Mane quickly turned and squeezed off the shot, low into the left corner.
33' Substitution for Hull City. Diomande makes way for Meyler.
30' Goal. 2-0. Milner steps up to the spot and coolly slots it past Marshall. Hull are now two goals down and one man short.
29' Penalty to Liverpool. Mane found Coutinho completely unmarked in the box. The Brazilian's shot was blocked by Elmohamady's hand on the line. The defender has been sent off.
28' Liverpool are pressing the opposition so high, so well and with so much energy. Every time Hull win back the ball, they're pressured into almost immediately surrendering it back to Liverpool.
23' Hull City finally have the ball. They're happy to keep it among their own back line, hesitant to let go of whatever little of the ball they can get.
19' James Milner picks up a booking for a late challenge on Snodgrass.
17' Goal! Liverpool have the lead through Adam Lallana. Coutinho made a great run, cutting in from the left flank and found Lallana in space in the box. Lallana gave Marshall no chance with that finish in the bottom right. 1-0.
16' The Reds are still dominating possession and controlling the game. Nothing telling has come of it yet though. Hull are struggling to get a touch on the ball.
12' Liverpool are being patient on the ball. They've kept a decent spell of possession around the Hull penalty area, constantly probing for an opening, biding their time.
8' Tom Huddlestone picks up a booking for a high boot on Jordan Henderson.
5' Milner showing some great energy and footwork as he makes a great run down the left flank, beating multiple defenders before he gets his cross in. Unfortunately there's nobody at the end of it.
4' Both teams have had an even share of the ball in the opening minutes. They've both tried mounting attacks, but we're yet to see the first shot of the game.
1' We're set for kick-off. Hull get proceedings underway from the centre as the ref blows his whistle to get the action started.
Anfield greets their heroes with a rousing rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone', as is tradition for Liverpool fans.
