Manchester United vs Everton Live Score and Commentary

Manchester United
FT
1 - 1
Everton
Z. Ibrahimović (P) 90'+4'
22' P. Jagielka
...
It's on to the next game then for both teams; United need to start turning these draws into victories, and Everton would be happy for some respite after coming up against Liverpool and United in back to back games.

From us at Sportskeeda, we hope you enjoyed our coverage and the game! Sk out! \m/
...
It was a cruel twist of fate that sees Everton come up with just a point at the end of this game. They defended manfully and threatened on the break a handful of times. The goal from Jagielka earned them a lucky lead, but boy did they do everything in their power to hang on to it.

The timing of United's equaliser was a kick in the teeth, surely.
...
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is once again the savour for United, and without him, they look like a toothless unit in front of goal. Jose Mourinho has a few hard decisions to make at the end of this season.

They may have managed to cling on to their top 4 hopes by their fingernails with this draw, but  they need to find goals from somewhere and fast. Jose won't be pleased with the performance or result today.

Europa League success still looks like the best route for United to Champions League next season, and that's despite being in 5th position in the league.
...
Right at the death, Manchester United salvage a draw with Zlatan's penalty. You can argue that his earlier goal should have stood, but in the end, United didn't create enough to win the game as teams that harbour championship aspirations ideally should.
...
95" Full time!

Neil Swarbrick blows the whistle for full time and somehow, just somehow, United manage to salvage another draw at Old Trafford. They deserved something from the game for sure, but overall, you can't help but shake the feeling that much improvement is needed ahead for Jose's men.
...
94" Zlatan Ibrahimovic calmly steps up and slots the ball into the bottom corner, sending Robles the wrong way. Fergie time indeed! United deserved that for all their endeavour.

United 1 - Everton 1
...
93" United are still throwing the kitchen sink at Everton and Luke Shaw's scuffed shot from outside the box sees Ashley Williams throw himself at the ball!

Oh, it's handball! Ashley Williams is off! The referee shows him the red card! And it's a penalty to United
...
92" Paul Pogba is hauled down from behind by Gueye near the Everton box, but the referee blows for a goalkick, much to the chagrin of the crowd!

...
90" The fourth official holds up the electronic board that signifies 4 minutes of added time. The crowd roars their approval, but Pogba's brilliant touch in the middle of the park to release Herrera doesn't result in anything substantial as Everton defenders are throwing their bodies at anything that moves now
...
89" United are banging on the door but it still stays firmly shut. They work the ball from left to right, and Rashford puts in a delicious ball for Zlatan in the far post. The big Swede heads over when you would have almost certainly expected him to score.

The ball just won't go in for United
...
86" Bailly disposses Calvert-Lewin in the middle of the park and Davies lunges in to try and prevent him from passing up top. He receives the yellow card for his effort.
...
84" United are now throwing everything at Everton, and the away side are defending for their lives. Lingard receives the ball centrally, outside the box, but his hit is deflected out for a corner.

The ensuing corner as has been the theme of the night, is wasteful.
...
82" United win a slightly fortuitous corner but Mhkiratyan's whipped in ball is easily claimed by Robles on the rebound. United huff and puff with balls into the box, but Everton are defending resolutely.

Replays now seem to suggest that Zlatan's goal could have actually stood. What terrible luck.
...
80" Ross Barkley is substituted by Dominic Calvert-Lewin

...
78" United press forward again, with Ibrahimovic holding off a defender at the edge of the Everton box and flicking a ball through for Pogba. The Frenchman looks to engineer some space for himself, but is closed out by a swarm of blue shirts.

It takes all of 3 seconds for the ball to find Lukaku on the turn at the half way line, who shrugs off Rojo and makes grounds towards De Gea at a worrisome clip for the home side.

It takes a stunning last ditch tackle from Bailly to dispossess him
...
76" Pogba whips in a delicious ball that Rojo manages to get his head to, but the weight of the defender on his back forces the Argentinian to sky his attempt. Great chance for United. They need to score one of these.
...
73" Extremely unlucky, as you've certainly seen those goals given, but there isn't time to think back in this match! Lukaku almost latches onto a stray pass and chases it down with an unsure Rojo shielding it from him, but United manage to resuscitate the situation and string together an attack of their own.

Lingard manages to turn and run at Baines, but is brought down by the left back. Referee blows for a freekick in a dangerous position.
...
70" Undeterred, United press on, this time through the right wing. Lingard's curling cross is pin-point, and finds the stooping head of Ibrahimovic at the far post. Robles manages to get a hand, but can't help the ball from bouncing over the line.

United 1 - Everton 1...but wait!

It's been ruled out for offside! Replays show that it was a brilliant decision. The Swede was indeed half a yard offside.
...
69" Everton threaten down the left wing with Barkley, but it's United that come out with the ball. Pogba finds Mkhitaryan running back to receive the ball, but his long pass to Rashford sees Holgate ease the English international off it. He's kept Rashford under wraps for most of this game
...
66" United seem to be pushing forward, not shorn of intent, but it's Everton that are looking threatening on the counter. It's been three to four times now that Lukaku has been found with acres of space to run into and just 2 defenders up against him.

He could hurt them if they afford him one chance too many
...
65" Everton's turn to make a change, as Kevin Mirallas makes way for Matthew Pennington
...
64" Double Change for Manchester United. Luke Shaw and Mkhitaryan come on in place of Michael Carrick and Ashley Young, who is slightly feeling his hamstring
...
62" The game has opened up a fair deal more, as Pogba's inclusion seems to have given Everton one more attacking presence to worry about, at the least. Fellaini has enshrined himself in the Everton box and almost finds space to turn and shoot, but his shot is well wide.
...
60" Barkley finds Lukaku down the right wing this time his square ball across the face of De Gea's goal is hooked away just in time by Ander Herrera, who's playing right back no less.

Terrific interception and positional awareness by the center midfielder
...
59" Everton retrieve the ball and find Lukaku high up the field, on the left wing. His attempt to zip in a ball across the danger area, however, is blocked off and Bailly frantically clears away.

This is a little nervy from United.
...
58" Everton's corner is met by Barry at the edge of the 18 yard box, but his header is easily collected by De Gea. The Spaniard launches it forward almost immediately, but can't find a red shirt.
...
56" Ashley Young is a little over-zealous in his tackle of Kevin Mirallas in the middle of the park and a brief melee occurs when the other Everton players surround him.

Neil Swarbrick produces the Yellow card from his pocket.
...
54" The freekick from Ashley Young finds Paul Pogba's head amidst the sea of humanity, who  - would you believe it - hits the crossbar! The ball bounces clear, out of danger, and Everton survive!
...
53" Ashley Young dispossesses Holgate down the left wing with a lunging tackle, but Rashford picks up on the loose ball and sets off like a rocket towards the box.

He's fouled by Barry outside the penalty area, giving United a freekick in a dangerous position.

...
51" Ashley Young's freekick from the left side leaves much to be deserved, as Robles pockets it easily at the far post. Fellaini, Bailly, Zlatan Pogbaand Rojo - all of whom were lining up for a better delivery, are left disappointed.
...
50" Fellaini seems to be playing up the field, almost like a number 10 just behind Zlatan. But overall, they've shown a much more increased sense of urgency so far.

Duly, Stretford end rallies behind the troops, spurring them on as they search for an equaliser
...
47" Everton start off the stronger of the teams, though, as they work the ball to Mirallas outside the box. He manages to make enough space for a shot but De Gea saves easily at his near post.
...
46" Paul Pogba has been introduced at half time in place of Daley Blind. Looks like United are going for broke here.
...
Halftime.

Manchester United 0 - Everton 1
...
46" Everton will look to close out the half with their lead intact, and they may just do so given how they've managed to keep United out pretty effectively.

United look to mount one last attack before the whistle, as Ibrahimovic's dexterous touch finds Rashford in space in the Evertonian box. Jagielka, however, executes a perfect last-ditch tackle that preserves the scoreline status quo.

...
45" There is going to be 2 minutes of added time. That seems in order.
...
43" United haven't had much joy in getting the ball from their midfield lines into the attacking lines as Everton have defended the gaps pretty desperately. It is one such transition during which the ball is retrieved by the away team that sends Lukaku off with space to run into.

Instead, he tries a speculative 35 yarder that is easily blocked by Rojo. The big Belgian has been wasteful today.
...
41" Ashley Williams today seems to be a player far removed from the one that cut a sorry figure against Liverpool, as he's marshalled most of the home team's attacking moves manfully to safety so far
...
38" United come knocking again, however, as Herrera tests Robles from range with a left footed shot that may have just crept into the near post, and the Spaniard is in the thick of things again, as he spots the overlapping run of Young down the right flank and releases the fleet footed wing back.

Young's inviting cut back across the six yard box doesn't find a red shirt and Everton clear it away.
...
36" Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been anonymous so far in the game - and it is of little surprise that he drops as deep as the halfway line to receive the ball and create something.

Still, there hasn't been much joy for the home team thus far. Especially after the goal, Everton seem to have been galvanised by a touch of belief that wasn't there up till then.
