Manchester United vs Stoke City Live Score and Commentary

Mourinho's men will not be able to believe how they did not win this one! Stoke fought, but United should have had this game dead and buried long before Allen pulled Stoke level.

Mark Hughes can finally breathe a sigh of relief, it's just a point, but coming at Old Trafford after a series of horror results, its worth its wait in gold. You can see it on the player's faces and their body language. Great result for Stoke, this may be just what the doctor ordered to kickstart the Potters' season.

United are now 5 points off City (whose game in hand starts in fifteen minutes against Spurs). It may be early in the season, but it's already a BIG gap. Mourinho needs to eke out some consistency if they are to be realistic title contenders.

It's been a pleasure covering this match with you guys! Thanks for reading

Toodle - ooo

...

PEEP! PEEP! THAT's IT!!!

1-1 It ends. Lee Grant the man of the match by a country mile

...

94' Rooney with a pass to Martial, whose cross is cut off and....

...

93' Johnson absolutely batters a clearance - right back at De Gea

...

92' Allen hacks it clear, after two attempts

...

Four minutes of added time here. FERGIE TIME.

...

91' the Corner is RUBBISH. Rooney redeems hismelf a bit with a brilliant reverse ball towards the far post. Blinds subsequent corner comes tonothing after Pogba climbs all over Allen to give away a free kick

...

90' Rooney on the corner...

...

89' Shaqiri OFF, Bardsley ON. Hughes batting down the hatches here

...

88' POGBOOOOOOOOOONO!!!!!  WHAT A CHANCE. Rashford swings in a delicious ball to  Pogba whose header from all four yards CLATTERS THE BAR!!!

...

87' Smalling miscontrols a ball at the edge of the Stoke box, and Walters breaks with supreme menace. Bailly is too strong for him though. The ball immediately flies back, and Rashford wins a corner

...

85' WHAT A SAVE!!! Grant again, as he keeps out a wonderful Zlatan effort

...

85' Blind swings a ball deep into the box, Pogba puts in a brilliant ball to Zlatan...

...

84' Mourinho is throwing the kitchen sink at it!

...

83' SUBSTITUTION - Herrera OFF, Mephis ON

...

Oh that was calamitous from De Gea, Johnson's shot is parried by De Gea straight into the path of Walters. The Irishman's shot hits the post, but Allen is on hand to tap the ball into an empty net

...

82' GOOOOOOAAAL!!! ALLENNNNNN!!!!

...

81' Rooney whips it in, but no United player has made a run to the near post - and its comfortably gathered by the over-worked Grant

...

80' Martial flies down the left after a Blind scoop releases him. He's too good for Cameron, and it's a freekick at the edge of the box

...

79' Zlatan sets such a superb example for the team - chasing long balls, and lost causes and urging his teammates to maintain the high press.

...

78' United pass and probe, before Rashford runs the ball out of play down the United right.

...

77' How good is it to see that gangly, un-athletic figure of Crouch gambol around the field eh?

...

76' SUBSTITUTIONS - Jon Walters ON for Arnautovic, Peter Crouch ON for Wilf Bony. Both subs were shaking their heads and muttering under their breath as they went off. I can't see why they can have any complaints, they were rubbish!

...

74'... the ref blows the whistle, as Arnautovic lies down in a crumpled heap at the edge of the United box. He was caught by Herrera's traling leg. Not intentional, but he's off

...

73' Shaqiri does exceptionally well to win Stoke some breathing space. Stoke try to pass the ball before Herrera nips in on Arnautovic to win the ball black. The men in red flood forward....

...

Old Trafford is bouncing, United are on the attack!

...

72' CHANCE FOR ZLATAN!!! The swede pulls of the Stoke defence and volleys an acrobatc effort that Grant does very well to keep out

...

71' Blind's hammer shot is saved superbly by Lee Grant! the keeper is having a blinder

...

70' United have their tails up here!!! Rashford powers down the right and his cutback is JUST INCHES away from a stretching Pogba. Blind then swings on in that Zlatan cant get under his spell.

...

Wayne Rooney dwadles on the ball inside the box, his miscontrol ends up at the feet of Anthony Martial and he curls a beautiful faux-Henry finish into the far top corner. Brilliant from the Frenchman.

...

68' GOAAAAAAAAAAAALL!!!! MARTIAAAAAAAL!!!

...

67' OOOO ZLATAN!!!! THe Swede toys with Whelan, before working a bit of space. His shot curles just wide of the right post. He turns 35 tomorrow, but Zlatan doesn't look like he's lost any of his hunger for the fight

...

67' SUBSTITUTIONS - Rooney ON for Mata, Martial ON for Lingard. Sensible changes that, both players had started fading as the second half wore on

...

65' Mata releases Blind, and the Dutchman's ball bounces its way to Zlatan. The Swede lays it off to Herrera, but his shot is just wide

...

HE IS EVERYWHERE!!! An ad for the MS Dhoni movie - on the bloody advert boards of Old Trafford!!

...

64' Arnautovic swings one in, Zlatan clears but its back to Whelan and the ball finally breaks to Shaqiri whose trickery almost gets him past Blind. Almost.

...

63' Stoke are seeing more of the ball in the United half, and Pogba is penalised for a push on Cameron. Another freekick from a promising position.

...

62' Shaqiri swings in another curler, but there's no Stoke head to meet it at the middle of the box, and Pogba clears

...

61' Zlatan is caught offside - the Swede is cutting an increasingly frustrated figure, just as Wilfried Bony on the other side has finally decided to turn up

...

60' Mata unleases one!! Grant spills, but he's always in control. Zlatan - who had made a good run into the box - is not best pleased with Mata's choice.
