83' L. Goian
That's all for tonight and stay tuned to Sportskeeda for all the updates on ISL and Indian Football.
90+5' FULL TIME! Mumbai City 0:1 Chennaiyin FC

Chennaiyin FC book tickets for the playoffs as they beat Mumbai City away from home. Lucian Goian strikes against his former employers to deny them any scope of qualification. After a goalless first half, the game looked to march towards a 0-0 end before Chennaiyin put their heart out to press Mumbai high. The back-to-back corners troubled Mumbai's defense line and one of the same yield the reward for Owen Coyle's boys. Chennaiyin FC have written one of the best ever comebacks in ISL history, failing to score in their first three matches, to qualifying for the playoffs in their 17th match.
90+5' Mumbai have a corner in the final minute of the game. Vishal Kaith's poor clearance results in a corner which the hosts fail to convert. Chennai, seeing Amrinder in their own half, tries to go on the counter, but cannot weave an end product.
90+4' CHANCE! Crivellaro has a chance to double the lead after a dangerous move with Valskis. The Brazilian's makes a poor touch and loses the ball for a goal-kick.

83' GOOOOOAL! Lucian Goian scores for Chennaiyin FC. Valskis flicks Crivellaro's corner to find Goian, unmarked at the far post. The center-back makes no mistake to shoot the ball right into the target, pushing his side into the lead.

65' Substitution for Chennaiyin FC.

54' Larbi's delivery is low and poor. Chhangte wins the ball and races forward, forces Sourav Das, the last man for Mumbai, to tackle from behind. The referee shows a direct red card for the midfielder.
52' Vishal Kaith is the second player in the book tonight. Rowllin Borges plays in a dangerous through ball to Amine Chermiti and Vishal Kaith advances to tackle the striker outside the penalty area.
51' Mumbai have a free-kick from a dangerous position. Carlos' delivery into the box is headed by Sougou but goes wide of target.

48' Eli Sabia fouls Amine Chermiti from behind and the referee intervenes.
47' Crivellaro makes a late tackle against Rafael Crivellaro.
46' Mumbai Cit get us underway.

The scoreboard remains unchanged at the end of the first half as both sides respect each other to not commit any silly mistakes. Though both the teams have pounced onto the chances that came their way, the managers have instructed to keep their defenses safe. However, we can expect more attacking intent in the second half from the two clever coaches.
45+3' Carlos passes to Sougou on the right flank but the cross is blocked by Jerry. Rafique crosses the ball from Carlos' pass but Subhasish Bose can't generate the required power on the header to find the back of the net.

"I am completely charged up for the game. It is not a do or die situation, rather it is a do or do situation for us" said Mumbai City's pillar at the back, Pratik Chaudhari, in an exclusive chat with Sportskeeda.
Jorge Costa has made two changes to the side that suffered a defeat to FC Goa. Amine Chermiti returns from a suspension and Sourav Das is handed a start in the midfield. Bipin Singh and Bidyananda Singh are the players moving out.

Mumbai City FC substitutes: Ravi Kumar, Valupia, Bidyananda Singh, Bipin Singh, Raynier Fernandes, Surchandra Singh, Vignesh Dakshinamurthy

Chennaiyin FC substitutes: Karanjit Singh, Deepak Tangri, Masigh Saighani, Germanpreet Singh, Thoi Singh, Rahim Ali

Mumbai City FC
: Amrinder Singh, Mohammad Rafique, Pratik Chaudhari, Mato Grgic, Subhasish Bose, Sourav Das, Rowllin Borges, Mohamed Larbi, Diego Carlos, Modou Sougou, Amine Chermiti

Chennaiyin FC: Vishal Kaith, Laldinliana Renthlei, Lucian Goian, Eli Sabia, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Edwin Sydney Vanspaul, Anirudh Thapa, Rafael Crivellaro, Dragos Firtulescu, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Nerijus Valskis

Nerijus Valskis has been Chennaiyin's go-to-man in the recent past. The Lithuanian has found the back of the net in four of Chennai's last five matches and has a total of 13 goals to his name this season.

On the other end of the pitch, Amine Chermiti will be looking to find his feet and add to the tally of 6 goals from 15 games this term. The 32-year-old striker is returning from a suspension and will be a major driving force in Mumbai's must-win match.

"We need to play the game not the occasion", reveals Chennaiyin FC gaffer Owen Coyle

"I can’t accept that one team can have more confidence than another team", says Mumbai City head coach Jorge Costa

Both sides faced each other earlier this season on 27th October and shared points following a goalless draw. However, that result is of no relevance today as both teams have now rejuvenated into different outfits.
Chennaiyin FC, however, are writing one of the best comebacks in ISL history, losing just two games after Owen Coyle took charge. The two-time ISL champions have collected 20 points since December and beat ATK in their previous fixture.
Mumbai City have had mixed results recently, the latest one being a 5-2 defeat in the hands of league toppers FC Goa. Jorge Costa's side had two victories before that but dropped points against the bottom-placed Hyderabad FC.
While Mumbai City are in search of their second consecutive playoff berth, Chennaiyin FC are looking to regain their lost glory. The Islanders are placed fourth on the points table with 26 points. The visitors, on the other hand, have 25 points and a game in hand, meaning a draw today would be a satisfactory result.
Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of today's ISL contest between Mumbai City FC and Chennaiyin FC at the Mumbai Football Arena. Action is guaranteed in Mumbai as the winner of the encounter will grab the fourth and final playoff spot this season.
