NorthEast United FC play host to FC Goa in their third game of the Indian Super League 2019-20 edition. Both NorthEast United and FC Goa are last seasons semi-finalists, with FC Goa playing the finals.FC Goa have retained their core for the third season running and would like to keep their momentum going. NorthEast United has a right mix of old and new players this season under a new coach Robert Jarni. Both the teams are still undefeated in their first two games and have managed to secure four points each. The Gaurs got their season off in style after defeating Chennaiyin FC 3-0 in their opening game before playing out a draw with Bengaluru FC. The Highlanders began their season playing out a draw with last seasons champions Bengaluru FC before grabbing a late winner against Odhisha FC in their second game. Robert Jarni and Sergio Lobera will hope that their team can keep playing good football and secure all three points in what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter.

This will be the first away game for the Gaurs. Having being held at home by the champions, Bengaluru FC, the visitors will be hoping to kick off a run of consecutive home away games with three points. FC Goa and ISL’s leading goal-scorer, Ferran Corominas have scored in both of their games this season. Coro will want to make it 3 in a row for himself. The Highlanders on the other hand started this edition of the ISL with a draw away to Bengaluru FC, while taking all three points at home to Odisha FC. A victory in this fixture will see either side go top of the table. The hosts are on a run of seven unbeaten games at home. They’ll want to continue that run to 8 games. The home team boasts for the international experience of Asamoah Gyan. The Ghanaian striker and Redeem Tlang got on the scoresheet in the last game. In FC Goa they face a stern test. The Gaurs boast the joint best defensive record in terms of goals conceded. Head to head, the visitors edge this fixture with four wins as compared to the Higlanders’ two. However, this fixture has seen four draws as well. So, what will it be? A win for either side or a draw? Stay with us to find out.

The game kicks-off at 7.30 PM IST at the Indira Gandhi International Stadium in Sarusajai, Guwahati, Assam.
