Till then, this is Shashwat Kumar signing off! Goodbye and goodnight!
Peeeeeeeeeppppp!! A dreary game comes to an end and both sides earn a point!

Throughout the encounter, both sides failed to get into any attacking rhythm and though the match was well contested, it fell short of the standards their managers would've liked. Kerala dominated possession but had very little to show for it whereas the hosts always lacked that bit of composure in the final third.

The game did improve after the break but that wasn't too difficult considering the outfits had produced perhaps the worst half of football in the ISL this season. Yet, a failure to make the net bulge meant that both sides emerged from that cagey encounter with a point apiece
90+3' Chaves wins the ball in midfield and looks for Keogh but Drobarov gets in between and brings the ball away. Chaves then hacks the defender down and that should be that
The final minute of added time is upon us and we aren't any closer to the breakthrough
90+2'  A bit of sharp play by Apuia sets the hosts up for an attack but Gning cynically stops the play via a tackle.

The Kerala man goes into the book!
A minimum of three minutes to be added on!
90' NorthEast can't utilise the corner and Kerala bring the ball away before the gift possession to the visitors. A vicious cycle
NorthEast have a corner in the final minute of regulation time. Can they make something of it?
Can either side get the decisive goal in the minutes that remain? Well, on the pattern of play, it looks unlikely, although the side to make the net bulge could well end up winning
85' Drobarov launches a long ball forward towards Rafi, who gets on the end of it on the left edge of the box. However, rather than waiting for support, he fires at goal from a tight angle. Unsurprisingly, the keeper gathers it with ease
83' Gning heads over!
Gning gets on the end of Zuiverloon's long throw and tries to flick it towards goal. But, he gets too much on it as it loops over the cross-bar. Could he have tried to feed Ogbeche who was unmarked at the back post?
Another change for Kerala! Sahal comes off for Rafi!
83' A loose pass across the defensive third invites Kerala's press and Heerings eventually puts it into touch via a back-heel
CHange for Kerala too! Seityasen is replaced by Rahul KP!
81' Gallego goes into the book!
Substitution for the hosts! Milan comes off for Chaves!
80' NorthEast work the ball towards the right and a cross is whipped in towards Gallego by Ninthoi. But, Drobarov gets in ahead of the hosts' skipper and heads it away
77' Kerala have another attack here. Cido picks up the ball in midfield and then finds Zuiverloon on the right edge of the box. He tries to find Gning in the centre but his cross is wasteful. NorthEast get the ball away for a corner
75' Keogh with a shot!
Gallego picks the ball up on the left flank and rattles a pass towards Keogh. The striker takes it in his stride and then produces a snap shot at goal, which is fumbled by the keeper but Jessel is on hand to get it away from danger
72' Ogbeche fluffs his lines!
Zuiverloon plays a long ball forward towards Ogbeche on the right channel and the striker gets away from his marker. He then goes eyeball to eyeball with the keeper and inexplicably, slashes his shot wildly beyond the near post. Massive chance spurned
69' Narzary clips in a deep cross towards the back post and Rakesh, unaware of his surroundings, puts the ball behind, despite no palpable pressure. Could Kerala capitalise on the corner?
There has been a bit of urgency in the second period but both sides have severely lacked quality in the offensive third, despite the increase in tempo
65' NorthEast bring the ball through midfield nicely but then Milan takes a heavy touch, meaning that Gning can get a foot in and break the passing sequence
61' Double chance for Kerala!
Lalruatthara whips in a deep cross from the right that finds Narzary on the other edge of the box. The latter stings the keeper's palms with a rasping drive and the follow-up falls to Cido. However, the Spaniard spoons his shot over the bar as the hosts heave a sigh of relief
60' Apuia finds Ninthoi with a long pass from inside his own box and the latter even goes past Jessel. But, he takes a touch too many and the Blasters crowd him out easily
57' Nikhil again proceeds down the left flank and finds himself in a crossing position. He picks out Milan on the edge of the box but the midfielder horribly scuffs his shot as it trickles away for a goal kick
57' Keogh touches the ball for Gallego to strike but the latter fires a woeful shot that is cleared away by the base of the wall
55' Gallego turns in midfield and feeds the onrushing Nikhil on the left flank. The Indian then cuts the ball back towards the edge of the box where Milan wins it. However, he takes a heavy touch and then also takes a tumble. And, the referee awards a free-kick right on the edge
53' Gning stings Subhasish's palms!
Zuiverloon wins the header from a free-kick and the ball bounces kindly for Gning. The midfielder lines up his shot and shoots at goal. However, the keeper is up to the task as he palms it behind for a corner
52' Narzary dances past a couple of challenges on the right flank and ventures in-field. Gallego then sticks a leg out and brings the Indian down. The referee has a good look at it and resists the temptation of brandishing a yellow card for the NorthEast skipper
49' Chance for Nikhil!
Keogh lays the ball to Nikhil who feeds Gallego on the left. The Uruguayan then returns the favour and picks Nikhil out inside the edge of the box centrally. But, the Indian fires straight at the keeper and NorthEast miss a gilt-edged opportunity
47' Gallego clips the ball into the box and rather surprisingly, Bilal fists it over his head for a corner. In all honesty, he got away with that one. He was caught under the flight of the delivery
46' Lalruatthara shows a bit of rashness on the right flank and he mows into Rakesh. NorthEast have a free-kick in a promising position. Can they make something of it?
CHange for the hosts! Lundevall comes off for Nikhil Kadam!
Peeeeeepppp!! The referee blows the whistle and Kerala get us underway after the break!
Peeeeeepppp! The referee blows the whistle and a drab first half comes to an end!

After countless moments of sparring, both sides enter the break having not broken the deadlock. Kerala looked slightly more accomplished in possession, although that never materialised into anything tangible. In fact, the opening 45 minutes witnessed a grand total of 1 shot on target, which incidentally, occurred in the dying moments.

Both outfits have plenty to work upon post the restart and one reckons they might have to raise the quality several notches if they harbour hopes of making the net ripple.

Do join us in a short while for the second half!
45+2' Zuiverloon looks to play in Cido on the right flank but the pass is a little heavy, thereby allowing Rakesh to get in his challenge and play the ball off the Spaniard
A minimum of two minutes to be added on!
45' Gning heads straight at the keeper!
Cido whips in a free-kick from the left wing and it is aimed at the near post. Gning gets a glancing deflection but it is straight at Subhasish
44' Vaz goes into the book for pulling Narzary down!
44' Narzary crosses into the box and somehow, Drobarov is in the box. He tries to flick it into Ogbeche's path but the loose ball is cleared by Heerings
42' Seityasen turns in the middle third and then finds Sahal who makes a run towards the right channel. But, eventually, the attack comes to nothing as the hosts get a toe in
41' Keogh fires wide!
Gallego clips the ball towards Keogh, who peels away to the left edge of the box. The striker tries a first-time volley but he slices it beyond the near post
40' Sahal goes in hard on Apuia in the centre of the park and NorthEast have a free-kick. A touch reckless by Sahal, although he went for the ball. Free kick for the hosts, 35 yards from goal
39' Kerala fail to make the most of another set-piece as the corner is collected easily by the keeper
39' Zuiverloon whips the ball into the box and finds Sahal. The Indian looks to turn but his touch lets him down, allowing Komorski to charge in and clear the ball into touch. Corner for Kerala
37' NorthEast, for the first time in a while, find Keogh in the penalty box and the Irishman does a couple of flicks and tricks to manufacture some space. But, it is all in vain as the Blasters bring it away
35' And, just as we speak about fouls, Ogbeche goes into the book for an innocuous looking challenge. Strange refereeing!
Ogbeche just leaned into Heerings but that shouldn't be a yellow card, surely not. But, that's what it is!
34' There has been no momentum to the game from either side and there have been plenty of niggly fouls. In fact, that number stands at 12
32' NorthEast again look to exploit the space in behind the right-back but the pass is just a little heavy as it bounces off the turf and into the palms of Bilal. The hosts are starting to string a few meaningful passes now
31' Apuia wins the ball in midfield and then feeds Lundevall. The Swede cuts inside and plays the pass back into the middle and then the attack loses steam as the final cross is gathered easily by Bilal
There have been several instances where players have gotten hold of each other's shirts when defending set-pieces. Surely those won't go unpunished throughout the encounter
27' Cido launches another free-kick into the box and Zuiverloon gets his head to it. But, he is challenged by Apuia, meaning that he can't get clean contact. The ball loops onto the roof of the net
Neither side has gotten into any sort of rhythm so far. While the Blasters have had the better exchanges in possession, they are still lacking a cutting edge
Substitution for NorthEast! Lakra is off injured and Vaz takes his place!
22' Cido whips the free kick towards the back post where Drobarov is stationed. But, just as he prepares to jump, the referee blows the whistle and it comes to nothing
21' Seityasen gets hacked down!
The winger gets goal-side of Rakesh and the latter brings him down cynically. And, Rakesh gets booked. Not too surprising! Free kick for Blasters!
17' Sahal pinches the ball in midfield and they spread the play across the field to the right flank. Lalrutthara then decides to whip in a cross but it is well short of its intended target as NorthEast repel it
15' Ogbeche gets himself a yard of space down the left flank and he looks to turn and feed a teammate inside the box. However, Heerings gets in a block and the Blasters have a corner. The visitors work the ball well from the set-piece and the ball is recycled to Seityasen on the right edge of the box. However, his shot is wild as the keeper just grabs the ball from the ball-boy for a goal kick
14' Gning plays the ball towards Ogbeche who lays it into Sahal's path. The Indian cuts inside on the left edge of the box and looks to return the favour but Komorski is in the right place at the right time to head it away
12' A bit of pin-ball near the half-way line ensues and Milan goes in hard on Ogbeche. The referee gives the Blasters the advantage but the striker is still down on the floor. He is getting up gingerly but looks fine to continue

And, Milan goes into the book for that challenge!
11' Keogh peels away from his marker inside the box and gets on the end of a cross from the left flank by Lundervall. But, he heads it straight at the keeper and the flag has also been raised for off-side. Not the most convincing of headers, one must say
10' After some patient play, Kerala decide to go long as Drobarov looks to pick out Ogbeche. But, the pass is telegraphed by Lakra, who calmly heads it back to his keeper
8' Cido whips in the free-kick after another one of those fake routines. But, the delivery is woeful as the hosts bring the ball away and mount a counter of their own. But, Lalrutthara does enough to get the ball off Keogh and regain possession for the visitors
7' Narzary controls the ball on the left flank and then goes past Lakra cleverly. However, the defender sticks out a leg and brings the winger down. Free kick for Kerala in a promising position
6' Cido's searching ball finds Narzary on the left, who controls and lays the ball back for the Spaniard. The latter then looks up and picks out Ogbeche, who tries to feed it into Sahal's path but Komorski is aware enough to hoof the ball clear
3' NorthEast launch a long ball forward and Lundevall seemingly clips Lalrutthara. But, the referee waives play on and the Swede feeds Gallego, who is then dispossessed. The ball then strikes the hosts' skipper's arm and Kerala have a free kick
2' Gallego picks up the ball on the left flank and then lifts a cross for Ninthoi who has peeled off towards the back post. However, the header is blocked and his subsequent cross is too deep to be attacked
1' Apuia loses the ball just outside his own box but then the Indian redeems himself by biting into a couple of challenges and earning a free-kick to provide respite. Shaky start
Peeeeppp!! The referee blows the whistle and NorthEast get us underway!!
The Indian national anthem is done! Both sets of players indulge in handshakes and the customary pre-match photographs! We are just moments away from the start of the game!

Here we go!
Kerala Blasters, meanwhile, have at least one of their strikers firing on all cylinders. Bartholomew Ogbeche, who is remarkably NorthEast United's highest goal scorer ever, has the chance to perch himself atop the Blasters' all-time goal scoring charts tonight, if he makes the net ripple once tonight.
In fact, Ogbeche had more goals in Guwahati in 2018-19 than what the Highlanders' players, apart from Gyan have managed throughout the current season.
NorthEast United signed Andy Keogh in the January Transfer Window as they hoped for the Irishman to act as the tonic to their scoring ailments, especially after Asamoah Gyan was ruled out for the season. However, the striker hasn't hit the ground running and has a grand total of 6 shots from 3 matches. In fact, the Highlanders have not made the net bulge even once when their influential Ghanaian has been missing.
After being touted to play a major role before the season, Sahal has found it tough to nail down a starting spot and has often been shunted around the midfield, with Schattorie hoping for the Indian to find his feet. However, he has another opportunity to prove his worth tonight and inject the Blasters' line-up with the requisite guile and craft in the attacking third.
It seems that Eelco Schattorie's patience with TP Rehenesh has slightly run thin after the keeper was responsible of digging the Blasters' grave in their previous encounter against Chennaiyin FC. In fact, that wasn't the first mishap that had happened with the former NorthEast United FC custodian in 2019-20 and in his stead, Bilal Husain Khan has a massive opportunity to stake his claim.
Team News!!!!! Blasters drop TP Rehenesh and there's a recall for Sahal Abdul Samad!

NorthEast United FC XI:
Subhasish Roy (GK), Provat Lakra, Heerings Kai, Mislav Komorski, Rakesh Pradhan, Ninthoi, Milan Singh, Federico Gallego (C), Simon Lundevall, Lalengmawia, Andrew Keogh

Kerala Blasters XI: Bilal Husain Khan (GK), Jessel Carneiro, Vlatko Drobarov, Lalruatthara, Gianni Zuiverloon, Mouhamadou Gning, Seityasen Singh, Sahal Abdul Samad, Halicharan Narzary, Sergio Cidoncha, Bartholomew Ogbeche (C)
The line-ups should be out in a few minutes! Stay tuned, folks!
The contest on Friday pits two sides, who haven't really been able to reach their potential throughout the campaign, against each other. And, though each has been hit by its fair share of injuries, the uninspiring returns have meant that they haven't been able to provide their immense fan bases the joy they crave. Furthermore, the lack of results and the inability to assert themselves for a major chunk of the season could also have implications for both managers, especially as the term draws to a close.
Thus, with qualification out of the picture, the game could morph into one where two beleaguered managers try to get some points on the board and portray the identity that might make the board give them a bit more time to mould the squad to their liking. Yet, as Jarni and Schattorie have elucidated countless times over the past few months, that particular task becomes arduous when tackling depleted resources.
Kerala Blasters, meanwhile, have often fluctuated between the delightful and the dire to find themselves languishing in 8th spot, having accumulated 14 points from 15 fixtures. At times, Eelco Schattorie's troops have displayed the kind of football that seems worthy of title contenders, as they did at the Salt Lake Stadium against ATK. Yet, victories of that sort have been sandwiched between rather wretched performances, akin to the one they produced against Chennaiyin FC a few days ago.
A few days ago, at the Mumbai Football Arena, NorthEast United FC again drew a blank as they succumbed to the Islanders. Consequently, their faint hopes of qualification had been extinguished, despite the Highlanders seeming capable of making the top four at the start of the season. Thus, with 11 points from 13 matches, Robert Jarni's side only have pride to play for as they welcome Kerala Blasters to the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Friday.
Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the ISL fixture between NorthEast United FC and Kerala Blasters! I am Shashwat Kumar and I will be taking you through the build-up and the entirety of the encounter! Sit back, relax and enjoy what these two sides might conjure at Guwahati!
