NorthEast United
1 - 1
FT
Pune City
R. Borges 47'
69' A. Khan
Pune City fight back to hold NorthEast United after that howler by their goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh. Rowllin Borges scores for NorthEast United but Adil Khan gets at the end of a cross to score a peach of a volley past Pawan Kumar.
Iain Hume was close to scoring the winner and so was Robin Singh, but it remained 1-1, ending Pune City's hopes of making the ISL playoffs.
NorthEast United, meanwhile, have to wait to secure their entry. A win could have seen them through but they only got a point from this match.
Tomorrow, we'll have the exciting Bengaluru v Goa ISL Live match. Make sure you join us for that.
This is Aravind Suchindran logging off. See ya.
90+5' A last counter and Bartholomew Ogbeche runs into Diego Carlos and gives away a free-kick.
And that's full time.
90+4' Mato Grgic enters the book for a challenge on Robin Singh. His fourth yellow, which means he will miss the next game.
Yellow - Mato Grgic (NorthEast United)

Four minutes added. Can Pune make something from the numerical advantage?
88' Tempers flare and a NorthEast player is sent off.
Jose Leudo puts his arm around Diego Carlos and when Carlos protests, Leudo elbows him.
The referee, Tejas Nagvenkar, initially shows Leudo a yellow but changes it to red after consulting with the linesman.
86' Kamaljit spills it again.
But Martin Diaz shields the ball for Kamaljit and prevents the rushing Juan Mascia from scoring what could potentially be the winner.
85' At the other end, Sarthak Golui leaps and kicks the ball out to prevent Ogbeche from getting at the end of the cross by Redeem Tlang
Nothing comes off the corner.
83' Jeeez. What does he have to do to score here?
Another cross and another attempt at goal. But this time Iain Hume's header is over the bar.
80' Hume thinks he has scored - Has he, really?
A long throw is not cleared and Iain Hume at the far post smashes to the roof of the net. It bounces down from the cross bar and even Robin Singh cannot head it in.
The ball doesn't seem like it crossed the goalline but Hume complains.
76' A draw won't be enough for NorthEast to make ISL semifinals tonight. They need 3 points and for that, they make an attacking change now.

47' And it worked!
NorthEast take the lead!
Rowllin Borges pounces on an error by Kamaljit and slots it in.

46' Pune City get the second half underway just after NorthEast's Mato Grgic delivers a huddle talk.
Half-time in Guwahati.
Iain Hume scored a goal for Pune City but it was from an offside position. NorthEast United's Bartholomew Ogbeche, meanwhile, was unable to get at the end of a couple of crosses and will be looking to change that in the second half.
Plenty of action but neither side is in the lead yet. Stay tuned for the second half.
45+1' Referee warns Hume for a push in the box before a corner is taken.
Hume argues back saying it was he who was pushed.
The corner is picked by Pawan Kumar.
Two minutes added.
43' SAVE!
Pune threaten from the corner with Adil Khan free to glance it toward goal.
His attempt, which finally comes off his shoulder, is straight at Pawan Kumar, who collects comfortably.
40' GOOOOO------OFFSIDE!
Diego Carlos on the right and from the tight angle, targets the bottom-left corner. Pawan Kumar's block rolls to Iain Hume, who taps it in, but the referee raises the flag.
That was almost Hume scoring his first goal of the season.
37' Robin Singh is on his own near the right corner flag. He drags it back for Adil Khan who drops it in between 2 NorthEast defenders for Iain Hume.
But the Canadian doesn't attempt to head the ball in as he's in an offside position.

Seconds later, Gurwinder is unable to nod Gallego's cross from the right home.
Robin gets away with a push on Gurwinder there.
13' SHOT!
Jonathan Vila with a shot from the edge of the box but it's not enough to test Pawan Kumar. Pune have spent a large part of the game in the NorthEast box.
10' OFFSIDE.

Jonathan Vila's header goes towards Robin Singh near the left post but he is flagged off.

NorthEast United v Pune City ISL Preview:

NorthEast United will hope it's not a story of so near yet so far when they take on FC Pune City in an Indian Super League (ISL) match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Wednesday.

NorthEast, third on the ISL table with 27 points in 16 matches, can move into the ISL semifinals if they secure 3 points from the game against Pune City.

Pune City, currently on 18 points in 15 matches, can challenge them for a top-4 spot.

A victory against Pune City, who are in great form under new coach Phil Brown, will be difficult for NorthEast to pull out.

Pune City are unbeaten in 5 games and come off a confident 4-1 victory against Jamshedpur FC.

Striker Robin Singh has scored 3 goals in the last 3 games, including a brace against Jamshedpur FC. Marcelinho led them to a 2-1 come-from-behind over Chennaiyin FC and also found the back of the net against Jamshedpur. He, however, will miss this match because of a one-game suspension after accumulating 4 yellow cards.

The combine of Robin, Marcelinho and winger Ashique Kuruniyan has worked wonders for Pune City. Add Iain Hume to the mix and Pune City are formidable opponents now even away from home.

Even a point for NorthEast United or fourth-placed Mumbai City will rule Pune City out of a spot in the playoffs but coach Brown wants to achieve more in the ISL.

“I want the players to help me get a contract at Pune City and continue my adventure in the ISL. To say that I have come for only six games is a negative approach. But I have confidence in my ability to achieve something here,” Brown says.

NorthEast United have lifted themselves up after a 2-1 defeat to Bengaluru FC. Although they were held 1-1 by Delhi Dynamos, they pulled off a commendable victory over Mumbai City FC and look to romp into the ISL playoffs for the first time ever.

Bartholomew Ogbeche has his own rivalry going with FC Goa's Ferran Corominas for the golden boot. With 12 goals, Ogbeche needs 2 more to catch up to Corominas.

Midfielder Rowllin Borges has increased his contribution to the side and even found the back of the net against Mumbai City.

Although central defender Mislav Komorski is injured and ruled out for the rest of the season, Janeiler Rivas has joined as a replacement and will be put to test on Wednesday.

When and where to watch: The Live Streaming of the NorthEast United v Pune City ISL match will be available on Hotstar. TV telecast on Star Sports Network and NorthEast Live. The kick-off is at 7.30 pm IST.
