Real Madrid walk away as winners in what was a truly entertaining game. Bruno Cesar gave the visitors the lead in the 48th minute, and it looked like that would be enough to secure the three points. However, Cristiano Ronaldo equalised in the 89th minute with a wonderfully hit free-kick. Alvaro Morata then finished the job with a great header in the 95th minute to seal the job. What a game and what a dramatic conclusion.

...

90+5' The ref blows for the end of the game. What a late twist that was! Madrid walk away with all three points after trailing till the 89th minute. Amazing. The Sporting coach and players will be absolutely crushed, but they put on an admirable display against the Spanish giants. They are truly unlucky to leave the game empty handed. Zidane and his boys will be in a celebratory mood right now, but they won't forget that they looked like losing the game until the last minute.

...

90+5' It's another Madrid goal! Rodriguez whipped in an exquisite cross from the right wing and Morata rose to head it past Patricio. What drama. What a game. A complete turnaround in the last few minutes. Heartbreak for Sporting. Delight for Los Blancos.

...

90+2' Joel Campbell has been brought on in place of Bryan Ruiz. That's Sporting's last change.

...

89' Goal for Madrid! Who else but Ronaldo? He stepped up to take the free kick and delivered when his team needed him most. An equaliser in the dying minutes. Arrowed perfectly into the top right. Patricio couldn't do much about that one. Great free kick.

...

87' Madrid are desperately looking for the equaliser. They've been continuously attacking non-stop for the last ten or fifteen minutes, and are looking more and more threatening as the pressure mounts. Sporting haven't entered the opposition half in the last ten minutes.

...

83' The ball is in the Sporting goal, but no goal. Ronaldo was offside. Carvajal put a good ball into the box. Ronaldo tried to score, but his shot came off the post. It then fell to Morata who hit the target, but the linesman's flag was up by then.

...

78' Madrid are making their final substitution. Zidane has sent James Rodriguez on in place of Toni Kroos.

...

75' Kroos has been booked for a slight kick out against an opponent.

...

74' Another substitution for Sporting. Adrien Silva has come off for Elias.

...

72' Madrid are now mounting wave after wave of attack. Sporting haven't seen the ball in the last five minutes, and Los Blancos are looking quite dangerous now.

...

70' Change for Sporting. Gelson Martins comes off to make way for Lazar Markovic. Madrid will be glad to see the back of Martins.

...

68' Double substitution for Real Madrid. Morata and Lucas Vazquez are on for Benzema and Bale.

...

67' What a wasted set-piece. Gareth Bale attempted a direct shot on goal, but got nowhere near. That's in the stands.

...

66' Marvin Zeegelaar has been yellow carded for a professional foul on Bale just outside the box.

...

64' Sporting should be up by two really. Martins put a brilliant cross in. Dost was there in the box, but he tried to get his foot to it instead of his head. Just a touch on the ball would've put it in the back of the net, but Dost couldn't do enough.

...

62' Sporting got a bit lucky. Madrid were on a good build up, but it fell apart as Bale was called offside.

...

57' William Carvalho has picked up a booking for clearly blocking Luka Modric's path.

...

55' Coates has been great so far in this game. A perfect challenge on Ronaldo in the box. There was a half-hearted penalty appeal, but the ref was never falling for it.

...

52' That goal seems to have ignited the Madrid team. They're suddenly attacking with more pace and intent. They look far more threatening early in the second half than they did throughout the first 45 minutes.

...

48' Goal! Bruno Cesar bends it in with his left foot. He picked up the ball inside the box on the right, turned, and sidefooted it past Casilla. Great finish. The stopper got a hand to it, but it wasn't enough to keep the ball out of the net. Sporting have the lead!

...

46' Bale is playing. Clearly he didn't pick up any serious damage in that clash, and Zidane wants him on the pitch.

...

45' We're back for the second half. Madrid get us underway from kick-off as the ref blows to start the last 45 minutes of this game.

...

45+1' The ref blows the whistle to bring the first half to a close. Jorge Jesus will be happy with what he's seen from his side so far. They've managed to mount a few threatening attacks primarily through Gelson Martins, while also holding off Real Madrid's attacks. Zidane has some thinking to do. Madrid didn't attack with enough ferocity in the first half, and didn't look particularly solid in defence. Ronaldo and Benzema have been rather quiet. The manager also has to decide whether Bale is fit to continue in the second half or if the Welshman needs to be replaced. It's been a good half, and the second half promises to be even better as both teams look to get ahead.

...

45+1' Bale is back on the field, but he's clearly in some discomfort as he limps around gingerly.

...

43' Bale seems to be hurt. He tried to put a cross in, but Sebastien Coates got a block in. The defender's knee jammed into Bale's thigh, who is receiving treatment on the sidelines.

...

39' Adrien Silva picks up a booking for a foul on Casemiro. Ironic.

...

37' Casemiro with another silly challenge. He really should be on a yellow by now.

...

34' What a chance for Sporting! It was Gelson Martins again of course. The winger played a floored cross across the face of goal. All it needed was a tap in, but Dost couldn't get there in time to get a foot to it.

...

32' It's been a good half hour, with both teams doing their best to break the deadlock. Zidane looks to be deep in thought. He'll have to change something at half time if it stays this way.

...

28' Ronaldo found himself in a little space, and popped a shot on goal from distance. The shot had a mean dip on it, but Patricio was alive to the danger and kept it out without too much fuss.

...

26' Gelson Martins looks a proper threat on the flank. He's been Sporting's best outlet in attack so far. He could cause the Madrid defence a problem or two in this game.

...

22' Sporting finally put together an attacking move after a while through Gelson Martins who was making a good run down the right wing, but Marcelo put an end to it with a perfectly executed slide. He had to get that one right.

...

18' Casemiro is lucky to escape without a booking after a poor challenge on Cesar from behind.

...

17' Madrid appear to be slowly finding their feet. They've put together a decent spell of possession over the last five minutes, displaying some good, quick passing. Nothing too penetrative yet though.

...

13' Good chance for Madrid. Bale took a great touch to take the ball over the defender's head. He put a cross in for Benzema who was making space for himself in the box, but nothing came of it.

...

11' The Portuguese club have had a great opening ten minutes, creating chances for themselves while also mostly keeping Real Madrid at bay.

...

8' Sporting are putting the Real Madrid players under a fair bit of pressure when they're on the ball. They're pressing well, looking to force an error to pounce on.

...

4' Carvajal puts a cross in from the left flank, but it's a poorly aimed one. He overhit it slightly, and there was nobody to get to the ball.

...

2' Decent effort by Bruno Cesar, but his side-footed finish went just wide of the post. Casilla probably had it covered anyway.
