2 - 2
Isco 19'
Iago Aspas 90'+1'
14' K. Boutaïb
81' Y. En-Nesyri
My my! How do I describe that GAME? That GROUP? Spain snatch a draw by the skin of their teeth and Portugal are through to the next round by a whisker! Morocco can be proud of themselves after another cracker of a performance. Iran too! Jeez, they've played well in this World Cup! Spain will still be happy they finish as group winners and we've got the first couple of games for the round of 16.

It's Spain vs Russia and Portugal vs Uruguay.

Phew, that was some game, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you had one hell of a time as well!

I hope you guys like the coverage. Until next time, this is Amit Mishra signing off!

And Breathe...................
Peeep, peeeeeep, peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! Full time! How am I still breathing after that! What a game! This is what the World Cup is all about!
90+7' And still we play! Freekick to Spain...but it's out of play for a goalkick!
90+6' Late late late drama! Jeez! Now Asensio gets fouled and there's another little fracas in the game that is already deep into extra time!
90+3' Jeez, this game is still going on and Morocco nearly break and score through  En-Nesyri! Just couldn't react and the ball got away from him!
Elsewhere, Iran have equalised late through a penalty! As things stand, Spain are topping the group! THIS IS MADNESS!
90+2' Yellow card for Hakimi for protesting!
90+1' It's a GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! Late drama! Aspas with a neat little flick to turn it in! Spain are level! JEEEEZ! VAR SAVES SPAIN!
90+1' GOAAAAAAAAAAAL? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ASPAS SCORES! But it's ruled it out for offside! VAR IS ON IT!
90' Aspas had the chance to find Rodrigo but he takes to long and the chance is gone! He does find Rodrigo but his cross is deflected for a corner!
90' Saiss again! Brilliant shielding to cut off Isco and get the ball clear! Spain just can't keep the ball!
90' To Morocco's credit, they've pressed after the goal. The possession Spain had, is all gone now.
89' Yellow card for Munir for time wasting. Heh.
88' Spain just have no answers at the moment. A shot or two off target, that's it. Munir still untroubled...
87' Half a chance for Spain! Good cutback from Rodrigo but Asensio just can't direct his header on goal...!
86' The freekick is wasted as Morocco leap above the Spaniards and get it away. Spain will have to build up again from the back...
85' Substitution for Morocco

Ziyech is OFF
Bouhaddouz is ON
85' Substitution for Spain

Rodrigo is ON
Silva is ON
83' Spain are behind for the fourth time in the World Cup already this year and my god, they are up against it. Spain win a freekick and are about to make a change...
WOWSERS! En-Nesyri just made Ramos look like a Sunday league player! WHAT A LEAP! LeBron esque! And the header was just unstoppable as it was on the top corner! An upset on the cards!
81' GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!  En-Nesyri with a bullet of a header!
80' SHOT BY ZIYECH! Pique makes the block! Corner! Brilliant cross by El Ahmadi and Morocco nearly make Spain pay for the lapse in concentration!
79'  En-Nesyri nearly causes Ramos a few problems with his pace but the defender uses all his experience to shield the ball and Spain have a goalkick. De Gea gives it back, though!
78' AH! Ramos decides he's had enough and tries to leather one in from like 35 yards. Not going to score from there, Sergio! Spain have been frustrated by the sturdy Moroccan defence in the second half.
77' Morocco actually did well to keep the ball there but again, they lack the quality of Spain's passing and give it away. El Ahmadi fouls Iniesta in the end.
76' A rare freekick to Morocco in the Spain half as they got a few passes going before Amrabat was fouled by Busquets. Can they make something out of this?
75' You've got to say, there are so many tired Morocco legs out there as Spain take the energy out of them with their passing. We've not seen enough counter attacks as Spain turn the screws by keeping the ball in the Morocco half...
73' Substitutions for Spain

Costa is OFF
Aspas is ON
Thiago is OFF
Asensio is ON
72' Spain are again probing for an opening as Ramos this time gets into the attacking half, but his pass in the end to find Silva is woeful and Morocco get a goalkick. Hierro to make a few substitutions here...
71' Substitution for Morocco

Boutaib, the goalscorer, is OFF
En-Nesyri, the forward, is ON
70' Absolutely no room to work around for Diego Costa who loses the ball in the Morocco box following a good tackle from El Ahmadi!
69' A Morocco move peters out as Boutaib is caught offside. They've barely seen the ball in the last 10 odd minutes, the Africans...
68' Carvajal and Alba have been permanently stationed in the Morocco half from what I've seen in this half so far. As I say that, Alba picks Costa with a pass from the left. The Atleti man pulls it back for Thiago but his shot is way over! Spain getting closer and closer...
67' Such an intricate build up from Spain again. This time Isco and Silva combine on the right. Silva passes it, make the darting run on the right and is found by Isco. Silva's touch in a crowded area isn't perfect. It needed to be there. Morocco clear it again...
65' Spain try to keep creeping up and nearly do it through Isco. Busquets was virtually playing as an attacking midfielder there as Isco made a run on the left. He received the ball, cut in and tried to find Costa, but Da Costa was there to get a foot in and get the ball away...
64' All Spain at the moment as they are dominating the ball. The chances keep coming but somehow, Morocco are doing well to keep it at 1-1
64' Substitution for Morocco

Belhanda is OFF
Fajr is ON
63' PIQUE GOES CLOSE! The delivery from the corner is again immaculate and Pique misses by an inch!
62' Saiss! WHAT A BLOCK! Isco of all people wins a header from a smashing cross by Carvajal, but Saiss makes a goal line clearance and it's just a corner! That was some defending...
61' Carvajal gets forward once again but Hakimi is there to get a block. Spain take the throw in quickly and pass it around well in the attacking half...
60' Not the best of freekicks by Isco as he fails to clear the first man who happened to be Hakimi. Spain win the ball back though and need to get a move on considering results elsewhere...
59' Freekick to Spain. The move before that was sublime as Thiago's shot was just mistimed. Again. Isco with a wonderful bit of work on the right as he took on one payer and put in a dangerous cross!
57' Not sure if marauding is even the word for Amrabat and Dirar! Gosh, they just got forward there with nothing to lose. Dirar's pass finds Amrabat and his cutback is fizzed back into the box. Dirar's tries to shoot, but Ramos mops up! Amazing bit of play!
56' Spain are so rattled and try to get a few passes going before Pique's shot is way over the bar! Replays of the Amrabat shot is just hair raising! He caught that so well! So unlucky!
55' HOLY MOLY! Amrabat with a shot that comes off the bar! My my, what a hit that was! Spain, lucky!
55' AH! The break comes to nothing. Good defending from Spain this time, but Morocco keep the heat up!
54' Good keeping by Munir who collects and sets Morocco on the break!
53' Spain with a lot of pressure as Isco gets wide with a stepover or two. Morocco get it away but Spain again win the second ball. The attempted cross by Carvajal on the right is deflected for a corner!
52' Spell of Spanish passing in the Moroccan half but Isco is dispossessed. Spain win it back quickly but again. Silva's cutback wasn't the best as Isco was under pressure and he loses it again...
51' WOOF! What a smashing cross that was from Hakimi! Boussoufa just wasn't tall enough to get there as De Gea barely clears it away! Spain living a bit dangerously as Morocco are playing very direct...more than in the first half...
50' The move comes to a premature end as Alba had drifted into an offside position. So far, the pattern has been like that in the first half..possession for Spain...
49' The ball did strike Pique's arm as the replays suggest. Spain might have got away with one there. Busquets on the ball here in midfield...
48' Hints of a handball near the Spain box but the ref waves play on as Spain wrestle possession back and are probing the Morocco defence with their passing...
47' Good move by Morocco and Saiss in particular. Nice little pass to find Hakimi on the left. The fullback cuts back for Belhanda but his cross is too deep and comes off Boussoufa for a goalkick...
46' Isco straight away gets on the ball but his pass to Iniesta is overhit and Saiss sees out the former Barca start for a goalkick...
Peeeeeeeeeeeeep! Second half is underway! Morocco get us started, shooting from left to right! No changes at half time...
And the teams are out!
What a game we've had! Spain have dominated the ball and created some good openings, but Morocco have the threat on the break! Too early to predict where this one's going! 1-1 at the moment!

Catch the second half in a few, fellas
Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! Half time!
45+2' COSTA! WHAT A CHANCE! My god, Iniesta is playing at another level here! Tippy-toes his way around the Morocco defence and puts in a delicious cross into the box that was begging to be tapped it!
45+1' Attempted cross by Dirar into the box is blocked by Alba. As I say that, Portugal take the lead in the other game through a smashing Quaresma goal. The trivela is back, fellas! Portugal are topping the group as things stand...
2 minutes have been added on...
44' The Moroccans have done well to be fair. Munir hasn't had too many saves to make, but if they can just have that sense of urgency they showed in their last move, they can trouble Spain more int he second half...
43' Ziyech with a decent looking shot! Well, not a bad move by the Moroccans who moved the ball pretty well, and pretty quickly on the left before Hakimi's pass to the middle was controlled well by Ziyech. He set it up and leathered it, but it's just over!
42' Morocco apply a bit of a press and Spain are forced into their own half. Pique tries a long diagonal from his own half but Da Costa is there to intercept...
41' Pass...pass...pass from the Spaniards. Don't really know what else to say! So irresistible at the moment...
40' Isco's delivery is towards the far post but Hakimi did very well to deny Busquets a clean header. It came of the Moroccan fullback in the end and Spain build up again from the back...
39' Spain again with possession in the attacking half. The way they are keeping the ball so deep in the Morocco half is remarkable! Morocco just don't know what to do and Belhanda fouls Thiago in a dangerous area in the end...
38' The Morocco defence is a bit shaky at the moment. Isco and Iniesta are being able to pick he runners so easily! Isco's pass again nearly found Costa down the middle, but Saiss got across to intercept...
37' Busquets with a FREE HEADER from a corner! JUST OVER! Alba's cutback was deflected by Dirar for a corner and the delivery was sublime from the corner to find Busquets unmarked. He ought to do better from there!
36' Spain are just relentless at the moment as Isco's pass to Iniesta was sublime. The latter's cutback was into a dangerous area but Thiago fouls Boussoufa while trying to get to the ball first...
35' Munir comes out and collects the cross with authority!
34' Brilliant pressing from Carvajal to dispossess Hakimi and put in a dangerous cross. Saiss clears but Spain win the second ball. Pique was up there and played a good pass that was just intercepted by Hakimi who made up for his error. Corner...
33' Spain probing the Moroccan defence. They've done well to upset the rhythm of the game, but at what cost? Four players booked already!
32' Isco's freekick is cleared easily by Saiss but Spain win the second ball and keep the attack going with Silva...
31' Boussoufa booked this time as he had too much to say for the ref. Jeez, the skipper needs to keep it calm here...
31' Yellow card for Da Costa for a challenge on Isco. Cleaned him out from behind. Naughty tackle, that one...
30' Temporary stoppage as everyone gets a breather from what has been a sensational game. Two teams who want to attack, as it stands...
29' Yellow card for Amrabat for a challenge on Ramos. He wasn't looking at the man, but the ref deems it too rash. Ramos without a shoe, at the moment!
28' Just can't take your eyes off this game. Both teams are so keen on going direct. Spain play a couple of passes and get rid of it, trying to catch Morocco off guard with their movement in the final third...Isco has been sublime with those runs...
27' OH INIESTA! Jeez, they just can't stop him right now! Another beautiful run on the left and he finds Costa but the Atleti man has an air shot and Morocco get away with it!
25' BOUTAIB! WHAT A CHANCE! One on One vs De Gea and this time he takes too long and allows the custodian to save the shot! Good pass that from Boussoufa to pierce the midfield of Spain!
24' From one end to the other! Morocco broke following that corner but Pique did well to intercept and set Iniesta on the counter. His pass to Costa is a good one but Diego dwells to long and gives it away...
23' Jeez almighty! Iniesta again with a sublime piece of skill as he kills the ball dead with a single touch and sets Isco again. This time it's only a corner. Pique's header is collected safely by Munir from the corner, though.
22' Spain needed the goal immediately and that has again brought things back in their favour as they are again dominating possession. Morocco with a few fouls here and there to upset the tempo of the game...
21' Yellow card for Saiss for excessive arguing with the referee...
Never doubt Andres Iniesta! Jeez, a minute ago he smashed it to row-z, this time, he receives a pass from Costa, makes slalom run on the left, taking Saiss out of the game, and sets it up for Isco with the outside of his right foot. Isco's shot from two yards is pure and he makes it 1-1! What a game already!
19' GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! Isco! What a run by Iniesta!
18' Isco this time drops deep to get the Spanish going who simply haven't been able to react to going behind. Need to just get it together and keep the ball for a few minutes...
17' No no non Andres! Morocco were passing it around nicely before Thiago's interception broke the move and Iniesta tried to take the ball forward but went for glory. His shot is way over!
16' Wow, the Spanish are shell-shocked at the moment. They are so rattled as Morocco have the confidence to break forward with numbers and win a throw in on the right!
That was a bad, bad mistake by Ramos and Iniesta. Well, it seemed totally innocuous when Ramos tried to play a one-yard pass to Iniesta, but the Barca midfielder didn't judge it well and reacted slowly. Boutaib ghosted in between both of them with a searing run down the middle and put it past De Gea's legs to give the Moroccans the lead! Amazing scenes!
14' GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! Boutaib with the finish! Wow! Out of nowhere!
13' A bit on the edge, this game. Morocco haven't created an opening yet but are threatening to do so on the break. Very cagey approach by the Africans so far
12' A lot of the Spanish chances have come from the flanks. You wouldn't have though that considering the midfield talent they possess...
11' brilliant bit of play by Costa, Carvajal and Silva on the right. Costa did well to hold it up and play Carvajal who's pass in turn to pick out Silva was top notch. Silva tried to cut it back for Iniesta, but it was just a bit overhit again!
10' Isco again finds a pocket of space and tries to pick Alba making the run in the halfspace on the left. The pass is just overhit and out for a goalkick...
9' A bit of stoppage in the game after that tackle. Not the stoppage we want, but yes, it does add a lot more emotion to the game and we love that, lads!
8' Boutaib is down on the deck...the after effects of a Pique tackle who is playing a dangerous game going in two-footed like that. Belhanda is furious at the challenge and gives the ref an earful as well!
7' YES! We have a little bit of a fracas here as Amrabat and Ramos, two temperamental characters, have a go at each other as Ramos was caught late by Amrabat! The ref calms them both...
6' Pretty sturdy defending by the Moroccans as they get the corner away safely and win a freekick as Ziyech was fouled by Busquets...
5' Pretty direct by Spain again, this time on the right. Thiago was on the ball and spotted a good run being made by Carvajal, but Hakimi gets back to make the tackle...corner to Spain
4' Oooh...first half chance of the game falls to the Spaniards as Isco broke forward to find time and space on the ball after being played through via a smashing Iniesta pass. He tried to return the favour but the trivela pass was too close to Munir who collects safely...
3' Spain this time manage to get it into the final third but Morocco are sold at the back and force the Spaniards to backtrack to keep the ball.
2' Again, a bit patchy by Spain as Alba gives it away around the half way line and Morocco burst forward. Ramos does well to keep Amrabat in wraps. The threat of Nordin Amrabat is something Spain will have to look at...
1' Not the most Spain like start you'll see as the lose it after a few seconds and Morocco immediately bomb forward. A bad cross by Hakimi in the end and the Spaniards have a goalkick...
Peeeeeeeeeeeep! Spain get us started shooting from left to right in their red top and deep blue shorts! Morocco are in their changed white strip! Get in!
The pre match pleasantries are done and we're moments away from kickoff!
Keep an eye out on the other game as Anirudh Menon covers the Portugal vs Iran clash on Sportskeeda. If Iran are able to win by two goals and Spain manage a draw or a win, Iran and Spain will be through to the next stage! Still a lot to play for in the group, ladies and gentlemen...
The teams are in the tunnel as the tune of Seven Nation Army plays around the stadium. Hell of a way to hype it up before the game, eh?
Spain manager Fernando Hierro compares the current bunch of players with those who lifted the 2010 World Cup...

"It's a similar group, although I know that you can't have clones unfortunately," he told Onda Cero.

"But we have a back-up group pushing for places every day. That is the only way to avoid relaxing, by having a group of team-mates that push you closer to the limit every day."
Spain vs Morocco - Preview

Two teams with different ambitions; Spain vs Morocco promises to be a thriller, ladies and gentlemen. The Spanish can still go out, so they've naturally gone with a strong lineup. The addition of Thiago will give them more control in midfield as Vazquez is more of a runner than anything else. However, they will need the width against the Moroccan side, so expect Alba and Carvajal to make a lot of runs.

Andres Iniesta has been playing within himself and he'll be expected to play a slightly more attacking role as Thiago is used to playing deep and pinging passes.

The pace of Ziyech and Amrabat on the wide areas is something Morocco will hope to use on the counter against the Spanish. Morocco just haven't been able to score despite creating a truckload of chances. Boutaib again will be under pressure to deliver with a good bunch of creative midfielders behind him. Can they do a Chile and upset Spain? Only time will tell...

This is Amit Mishra, and I’ll be your host for the game! For feedbacks, you can reach me @DerStoic on Twitter or drop an email to Let’s hope for an open game, fellas!

Spain vs Morocco - Team News

Spain haven’t really flown off the blocks after a 3-3 draw against Portugal and a narrow win over Iran. They don’t have any injury issues regarding the starting XI. Pepe Reina however is a doubt. Nacho Monreal is set to return after missing training.

Morocco coach Herve Renard has a full squad to choose from. The Moroccans have played pretty well so far but have been punished for two moments where their defenders weren’t on their toes. The game against Portugal in particular gave the fans a lot to cheer for.

Against Spain, we could see one change in the attack with Amine Harit coming in for Mbark Bousouffa. Belhanda could be given a deeper role hence allowing Harit to play as the number 10. The Schalke attacker didn’t get a chance against Portugal but gave a hint of what he is capable of against Iran.

Spain vs Morocco - Key Players

The Spanish side have got a lot of things right considering they were dealt the blow of Julen Lopetegui leaving just a day before the tournament started. The defence can perform better as a unit but teams have identified that hitting Spain on the break is perhaps the best possible way to cause a few problems. Obviously, players like Isco and Diego Costa will play a big role but Sergio Busquets could have a big role to play against Morocco.

Busquets will have to deal with the likes of Ziyech and Harit – if he starts – as the duo are pretty elusive in the attacking half and they will be playing on the counter.

For Morocco, Mehdi Benatia and Da Costa will have to be on the top of their game to deal with the threat of Diego Costa who has been the ideal foil for the likes of Silva and Isco.

Spain vs Morocco - Probable Lineups

Spain probable XI: De Gea, Alba, Ramos, Pique, Nacho, Iniesta, Busquets, Isco, Silva, Vazquez, El Diego

Morocco probable XI: Munir, Dirar, Benatia, Da Costa, Hakimi, Al Ahmadi, Belhanda, Ziyech, Harit, Amrabat, El Kaabi
