FT: Valencia 2-3 Barcelona

A stunning La Liga game ends with Barcelona scoring an injury time winner to walk away from the Mestalla with all three points. Andres Iniesta's early injury looked to have put a dampener on things for Barcelona, but Lionel Messi scored a controversial opener in the 22nd minute with Luis Suarez interfering from play in an offside position. Valencia also had a penalty turned down and were unlucky to go into the break 1 goal behind.

Munir came on at half time and made an immediate impact, as the Barcelona loanee drew Valencia level with a lovely finish. Rodrigo gave Los Che the lead 4 minutes after that to send the Mestalla wild. However, Luis Suarez then made it 2-2 in the 62nd minute with a fine finish.

There was controversy in the final moments, as Suarez earned a penalty after being shoved in the back by Abdennour, and Messi just about beat Alves in the Valencia goal from the penalty spot to give Barcelona the win.

...

90+4' Messi squeezes the ball past a diving Alves to score the winner for Barcelona. We have controversy as something thrown from the crowd has struck Neymar and a couple of Barca players. Valencia 2-3 Barcelona

...

90+4' GOAL MESSI!

...

90+2' Messi plays the ball into Luis Suarez in the box and Abdennour fouls him from behind. Messi to take it against Diego Alves, who has an excellent record of saving penalties.

...

90+2' PENALTY FOR BARCELONA!

...

90+2' Another waste from Mina! He's played into space on the left edge of the box and takes a poor touch

...

90' 2 minutes of added time.

...

90' Santi Mina wastes a 3-vs-3 counter with a poor pass.

...

90' Messi stands over the ball and sends in a good cross with his left foot, but Valencia clear.

...

89' Abdennour goes flying into a challenge with Denis Suarez, gets the ball, but the referee blows for a free-kick.

...

88' The pressure on Valencia is relieved after some end-to-end action, with the referee blowing for a foul in their favour. Breathe, ladies and gents.

...

86' ALMOST! The ball falls to Mangala in the box from the corner, but his shot is blocked. He could have had a penalty as Mascherano had his arm around him, and he fell down seconds before.

...

85' Santi Mina goes shoulder-to-shoulder with Sergi Roberto and earns a corner.

...

84' WHAT A CHANCE! Sergi Roberto sends in a delicious cross from the right wing and Luis Suarez sends his header over the bar! He should have done better there, he wasn't under much pressure.

...

82' WHAT A MISS! Nani does well to collect the ball in the box from Parejo's cross from the right, and as he runs clear on the right edge of the box, the Portuguese winger hammers a low drive wide of the near post. He should have done better then!

...

80' Almost! Nani leads the charge up the left wing as Valencia counter. He checks back and plays it to Santi Mina on the left edge of the box, but the Valencia youngster is crowded out and takes a poor touch to end the move for Valencia.

...

78' Suarez or Suarez? That was the choice faced by Rakitic as he charged up the pitch, but the Croatian is dispossessed before he can make up his mind.

...

78' We have official confirmation from Barcelona that Andres Iniesta has suffered a partial tear of his ligaments. It seems like he will be out for the rest of this calendar year.

...

77' Luis Suarez stands over a free-kick in the promising position, and sends it way over the bar.

...

75' WHAT A TACKLE! Enzo Perez denies Lionel Messi from taking a strike on goal.

...

73' Messi reacts in frustration after clipping Abdennour on the touchlines. He earns a yellow card for his troubles.

...

72' Andre Gomes comes off to huge jeers from his former supporters and is replaced by Denis Suarez. That's 3 Suarez' on the pitch now.

...

71' Santi Mina (he scored the winner against Barcelona last season) comes on to replace Rodrigo

...

70' Leo Messi stands over the free-kick .... and sends it way over the bar.

...

69' Poor! Mario Suarez goes into the book for a lazy kick out at Neymar who had gone past him.

...

Luis Suarez has been involved in 48 goals (32 goals + 16 assists) in his 29 Liga matches in 2016

...

68' Good defending from Garay as he holds of Messi from running on to a through-ball and allows Alves to collect the ball in the box.

...

67' (Btw, I predicted a 2-2 before the game. #Nostradamus)

...

66' Munir tries to bamboozle Neymar with a stepover, but the Brazilian is having none of it, tackling perfectly to win the ball back.

...

65' The Mestalla has quietened after the equaliser, but the Valencia players are still competing for every 50-50 ball. Cesare Prandelli certainly seems to have his man-motivation speeches correct.

...

Luis Suarez has scored more goals (7) than any other player in La Liga this season

...

62' WHAT A RESPONSE FROM BARCA! Rakitic head the ball towards the bottom corner from a corner and Alves pulls off a stunning save but watches in agony as the ball falls to Luis Suarez on the left side of the box, and he slams the ball across the Valencia keeper to bring Barca back into the game. Valencia 2-2 Barcelona

...

62' GOAL LUIS SUAREZ!!!

...

61' WHAT A TACKLE! Mangala prevents Andre Gomes from pulling the trigger on the left side of the box with a last-ditch tackle.

...

60' Barcelona are trying to earn their way back into the game, but Valencia are all over the pitch, swarming the Catalans and not allowing them any time on the ball. Parejo is nearly sent clear into the box, but Digne cuts across him to make a vital interception.

...

56' WHAT A GOAL! Barcelona are stunned! Nani sends in an amazing chipped pass from the left into the box that bamboozles the entire Barca defence, and Rodrigo runs onto the ball and slams the ball past Ter Stegen with his left foot from a narrow angle. Prandelli goes crazy on the touchline! Valencia 1-2 Barcelona

...

56' GOAL RODRIGO!!!!!

...

55' Nani sends in a tempting cross from the left, but the ball flashes across goal. The Mestalla is BUZZING and Barcelona look really, really nervous. We have a game!

...

52' Munir comes back to haunt his former side! Parejo sends in a peach of a low cross to an unmarked Munir on the edge of the box, and he hammers a low drive into the bottom corner with his left foot to draw Valencia level. He doesn't celebrate the goal, though. Barcelona 1-1 Valencia
