The desire is there, and so is the intent from Juan Martin del Potro right now, but Murray has been relentlessly attacking Delpo's forehands and hitting deep here. Del Potro scrambles to make some shots that unfortunately go just awry - and it's now Murray who appears to be running away with this set at 4-2.

Oh no! Not an MTO just yet, but Del Potro, down 2-3 in set two, has asked for a painkiller. Murray still up a break of serve here.

Juan Martin del Potro, take a bow. This is arguably his best game so far. The shotmaking has been exquisite - he comes up to the net in almost perfect anticipation, and shots are timed to the last second - as, it seems, is how Del Po approaches those shots. The planning and execution behind each shot - every one played with full intention - is absolutely clear here today.

Meanwhile, with the reflexes of a cat, Del Potro runs to 4-2.

Delpo draws first blood! Despite his injury struggles, Del Potro is sliding across court like an athlete. A couple of beautiful shots and Murray almost puts a drop shot in there. But he sends it into the net.

The last time Murray and Del Potro met on clay was during the quarter-finals of the 2009 Madrid Masters where Del Potro defeated Murray in straight sets.

This remains to be the only match between Murray and Del Potro which was finished in straight sets.

That year, Del Potro finished in the semifinals of the tournament, taking Roger Federer to a tough five sets before eventually losing.

Roger Federer would go on to win the title.

Delpo's best result at the French Open came at the 2009 edition - only months before he won his only Grand Slam, the 2009 US Open.
