A draw, in the end, is a fair result. The game started brightly with Chile dominating in the opening half an hour. La Roja took the lead through Alexis Sanchez in the 6th minute, who punished the Germans for a defensive lapse. The South American side should have added a couple more in the first-half but it was not to be and Lars Stindl scored his second in two games to bring his side on level terms.

The second-half was bereft of any clear cut chances with both the teams employing a cautious approach. They were both not ready to concede, allowing the other to capitalize and a game that started off, promising to be a thrilled, ended in a dire draw after an incredibly boring second half.

The important thing is that both the teams are now on 4 points, and are almost certain to make it to the semi-finals, especially after the game between Cameroon and Australia finished in a 1-1 draw earlier in the evening.

90+2' Can has the ball around 30 yards from goal and the Liverpool man wants to make the headlines as he attempts a left-footed shot from there, which will never threaten any goalkeeper. It takes a slight deflection off a defender and Herrera gather is comfortably.

90' Substitution: Francisco Silva comes on to replace Aranguiz.

88' It is now Draxler's turn to show off some nifty skills as he makes his run forward, the PSG forward gets into a good position but instead of opting to cross wants to take on his marker and fails.

86' Isla has the ball on the right and he cuts inside before spraying it to Sanchez. The Arsenal superstar does not opt to shoot and instead tries to find the run of Isla, however, Isla cannot get on the end of it and Germany survive.

84' Rodriguez - who has just been brought on - has a good chance to put his side ahead but is guilty of hitting a tame shot, which does no harm to Germany.

82' Substitution: Vargas is replaced by Rodriguez.

81' Germany had a chance from the set-piece but Ginter's header from Draxler's cross is over.

79' YELLOW CARD: Beausejour is booked for bringing down Kimmich some 25 yards from goal.

Both the teams are very cautious in their approach not affording the other team to sniff a half-chance.

76' Sule bursts forward and crosses the ball into the box, the ball takes a slight deflection and evades almost everyone before falling into the path of Kimmich down the right. The Bayern Munich man lays it off for Draxler, who attempts to beat Herrera from near the edge of the box but his shot is blocked.

That was the first shot on target of the second half.

73' Germany have a decent chance with Stindl testing Herrera from a narrow-angle but his shot is gathered by the goalkeeper.

The game has opened up a bit and we are set for a thrilling end. Who will come out on top?

71' Substitution: Paulo Diaz comes on to replace the injured Medel.

Gary Medel is down on the pitch, receiving treatment. He must have tweaked something while running back to cover Can.

69' Emre Can has space down the left and he darts forward but the Liverpool midfielder takes one touch too heavy allowing the Chilean defenders to recover and end the move.

66' Germany have a chance and it is their captain Draxler who is trying to make things happen. The PSG forward lifts a ball into the box to catch the run of Kimmich but the Bayern Munich man cannot get his header on target.

64' Yellow Card: Alexis Sanchez is the first Chilean player to go into the referee's books for kicking a ball out after he was incorrectly ruled offside.
The Chilean fans didn't like the decision of the referee, nor did the Arsenal striker himself.

62' Aranguiz swings a corner from the right and it is straight at Vidal but his header is off target and Germany start from the back once again.

60' Yellow Card: Sebastian Rudy is booked by the referee for a cynical foul on Alexis.

57' Vidal tries to make things happen in the German half as he sprays the ball forward to Vargas but the striker is unable to bring it under control under pressure from Rudy.

54' Chile break forward and Isla has the ball on the right. The wing-back spotted that Ter Stegen was off his line and attempted a cheeky cross/shot which forced the Barcelona man to back peddle and see it off.

53' Isla goes down clutching his ankle. The defender recovers and play resumes.

50' Isla and Vidal combine before the Bayern Munich man attempts a through ball from the outside, which Vargas just fails to get on the end of. Promising start for the South American side.

48' Chile win a free-kick in a very promising position and Sanchez stands over it.
Sule brought down Hernandez at the edge of the box on the right and Alexis stepped up to beat Ter Stegen. The Arsenal forward's free-kick is just about a couple of inches over the bar with the German shot-stopper well and truly beaten.

46' And we are underway in the second half!

The players are making their way onto the pitch once again as we near restart.

Chile started the game brightly and raced to an early lead courtesy of Alexis Sanchez's 6th-minute strike, who punished his Arsenal teammate Mustafi for a poor pass. Pizzi's side dominated proceedings for most of the half before Die Mannschaft equalised with 4 minutes left on the clock. Lars Stindl placed the ball past a diving Herrera after a swift counter-attack by the Germans.

HALF-TIME: Germany 1-1 Chile

45+1' Sanchez burst forward down the left before cutting in and testing Ter Stegen with a low drive from outside the box. The ball is probably on its way into the back of the net but the Barcelona shot-stopper extends his palm to save the shot.

45' 1 minute of added time

Lars Stindl now has two goals in two games in the competition.

Emre Can is afforded all the space in the world to bomb forward through the middle. The Liverpool man sprays it out to Hector down the left, who puts an excellent cross into the path of Stindl, who bundles it home past Herrera to bring the two teams on level terms.

The Chilean players just watched and waited as Can burst forward, someone should have stepped out and tackled him or closed him down.

41' GOOOAAAAALLLL! Germany equalize! Stindl scores! 1-1

40' Chile hit Germany on the break once again after a poor pass was played straight to Vargas. The striker holds off the pressure from German defenders and lays it off for Alexis, who crosses it into the box but Vidal's header is off target and Low's side survive.

38' Chile break forward with intent as Aranguiz pings a ball forward into the path of Alexis, after some neat one-touch play with his teammates. The Arsenal man is too far wide and his attempt to find a teammate is cut out.

36' Emre Can chests down the ball just outside the box and unleashes a right-footed half-volley which sails wide.

Stat Attack: Germany have had only 2 touches inside Chile's penalty box so far in the game.

35' Germany make a rare foray forward into the opposition half but are thwarted by the Chilean defence.

The referee gives Diaz a talking to for bringing down Stindl with an overzealous challenge.

33' The game has slowed down a little bit with Chile still not allowing Germany to play out of the back.

29' Alexis Sanchez is toying with the German defence. The Chilean forward finds himself in the box on a couple of occasions and gets the better of his marker but fails to put a ball past the sea of German defenders.

28' Sanchez is brought down just outside the German box and Vidal continues forward with the ball but is blocked. The ball falls to Isla, who tries to beat Ter Stegen from range but wins a corner instead.

The opener by Alexis Sanchez was the 400th goal scored in the FIFA Confederations Cup. Landmark!

25' Beausejour and Alexis combined down the left, before the Arsenal man tried to take on one too many defenders on his own. He is dispossessed and Germany make their way forward.
