Two quick second-half goals from Stuani (54') and Portu (58') were enough for the Catalan side to win all three points against Zidane's side that were pretty poor today. Isco (12') scored the solitary goal for Los Blancos.

90+2' Real Madrid have a corner. Ramos time? Not this time! Girona clear the ball but Real quickly win it back before Vazquez wastes another opportunity to create a chance.

FOUR MINUTES ADDED ON!

More problems for Real Madrid as Isco is limping. He's given it everything in this game and the last thing Zidane needs is another injury to one of his key players.

90' Isco kickstarts another counter-attack and he finds Vazquez, but the 26-year-old makes a horrible decision, passing the ball straight to the goalkeeper.

It's a defensive change and goalscorer Stuani is withdrawn and left-back Johan Mojica comes on.

YELLOW CARD: Benitez (for time wasting)

84' Isco with the correct pass again - finds Asensio making a run but his shot/cross is too soft, allowing bono to make the save. There were two Real Madrid players at the far post.

83' GOOO...OFFSIDE! Lucas Vazquez receives Isco's stupendous through-ball and finds the bottom corner but he had strayed offside by a yard.

Warning signs for Girona!

83' Real are so focused on attack that Ramos (one of the three defenders) is in the final third. He desperately wants a goal.

Goalscorer Portu is taken off and the crowd gives him a standing ovation. Man City loanee Larry Kayode takes his place.

80' Ronaldooo... Falls over in the box! No penalty! The referee waves it away after Ronaldo failed to get a shot off among a crowd of defenders after he received a good cross from Ramos.

78' OFFSIDE! Real are eager to attack but the linesman's keen eye finds Benzema offside. Real are frustrated with a little over 10 minutes to go.

76' A superb tackle from Sergio Ramos wins Real Madrid possession after Girona almost counter on the right side. Ramos made up ground and slid in to win a throw-in that took the linesman some time to deliberate on due to the speed at which both men came together.

74' Girona are defending well here. Isco and Asensio attempt to combine out on the left but Asensio's cut-back is easily dealt with.

71' Ronaldoooo... Straight at the keeper! Kroos' delivery into the box sees Ronaldo completely free and unmarked, but his header isn't timed well, coming off his shoulder and into the waiting arms of Bono.

70' It looks like Real Madrid have resorted to crosses into the box. Asensio does well to receive a quick pass from Modric but his cross into the six-yard box is easily caught by Bono.

67' Stuaaniiii... MISS! The back-three is put to the test immediately as Nacho steps up while Ramos doesn't, allowing Stuani to make a run and fire a shot that beats Casilla but goes just wide of the far post. That was close!

65' Zidane has had enough. He's going to make a double change with Asensio and Vazquez getting ready to come on.

63' Isco's free role means he's literally following the ball wherever it goes, asking for the pass from his teammates. He seems to be the only one looking to put the pedal to the metal. The rest of the Real Madrid players need a wake-up call.

Cristiano Ronaldo (who just won FIFA's 'The Best' award) wears a stone cold look as they wait to kick off. Girona are in no hurry to restart the game, of course.

Girona have scored another within minutes! A counter-attack saw Maffeo receive the ball and fire it goalward. It's not hit well but Portu is near the goal line and he back-heels Maffeo's effort to find the back of the net!

Terrible defending from Real Madrid.

58' GOOOOAAALLL! Girona 2-1 Real Madrid

What a goal! Pons makes a very good run that slices through Reals midfield and then finds Stuani who makes a beautiful touch to get around Nacho before burying the ball in the net through the gap between Casilla and the near post.

Well deserved equaliser and a historic goal for the newly-promoted side.

54' GOOOAAALLL! Girona 1-1 Real Madrid

52' Real Madrid's players are getting in each other's way now. Isco and Toni Kroos try to go for the same pass and eventually lose out on a chance to take a shot on goal.

The ball falls to Ronaldo who puts in a wayward cross with nobody in the box. What is he doing so far from goal?

50' A comedy of errors almost sees Benzema score with a half scorpion-kick, half outside of the boot shot. The goalkeeper makes a mess off the lobbed shot and it's eventually cleared off the line.

48' The skillful Maffeo tries to battle Marcelo out on the right and the one-on-one with the Brazilian ends up in a throw-in for Real.

Also, Varane has been replaced by Nacho who came on as a half-time substitute.

47' Garciaaa... MISS! The ball bounced a little too high for Garcia to volley on goal and it's waaay off target.

46' Girona are up for this and start strong, maybe a little too strong and eager as they foul Toni Kroos while he was in possession.

PEEP! HALF-TIME!

Real Madrid lead 1-0 thanks to a goal from Isco. Girona have played well, though, hitting the woodwork twice courtesy of a Maffeo strike and a Portu header.

45' YELLOW CARD!

Luka Modric dives into a challenge to stop a Girona counter and it's mistimed! The referee has no other option but to book him.

43' What a stop by Varane! Pons looked like he was going to get past the last defender but Varane stops the ball dead while Pons falls to the ground. No foul, perfect tackle!

42' OFFSIDE! Isco tries to lob the ball to Hakimi on the right and he had actually timed his run to perfection. But the linesman signals offisde. Replays show he was onside.

Zidane is furious. He knew.

41' Benzema has the right idea, trying to slip a pass through to Varane in the box (after a corner kick). But Bono reads it well and makes the save before the defender can even think about getting a shot off.

38' HANDBALL!

The ball bounces awkwardly in front of Isco and hits his hand. Girona have a free-kick out on the left and Casilla sets up a two-man wall.

Benitez goes for goal with a curling effort but he cannot get it to dip under the bar. Casilla knew that was off target, barely moving a muscle knowing full well it was going over.

37' Penalty? Not a chance!

Girona on the attack again as Garcia slips through Portu who is through on goal. But Casilla is quick to come off his line and dives into his path to catch the ball.

Portu falls over and the fans behind goal get to their feet immediately. But that wasn't a penalty as Casilla got to the ball first.

35' GOOOAA... OFF THE POST! HOW DID THAT NOT GO IN?

Benitez's cross into the box sees Portu make a run and glance a header goalwards. Casilla can only watch it loop over his head before it comes off the post!

That's the second time they've hit the woodwork in this game.

33' Espinosa to the resuce for Girona as Ronaldo finds Hakimi near the far post. The youngster puts in a lethal cross into the six-yard box which was cleared by Espinosa before a Real Madrid player could get to it.

31' Benzemaaa... MISS! Ronaldo does well to slip the ball through the defence to find Benzema who stays onside on the left of the box. He beats the defender marking him and fires a shot on goal that flies over the bar.

30' Isco has dropped deep now to facilitate a possession game, what with Girona sitting back and looking to hit Real on the counter. Isco has been everywhere in the first 30 minutes.

28' Girona are playing a back-five off the ball and Modric tries to release Hakimi on the right but Muniesa sheperds him one way before executing a beautiful turn to take the young Real full-back out of the game. The crowd cheers him on while a slightly embarrassed Hakimi returns to his position.

26' Modric makes a crucial interception from a Muniesa pass. He quickly sets Benzema on his way on the right and the striker quickly puts in a cross for Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward takes it with his right foot this time and it's a good shot - unfortunately straight at the goalkeeper.

Girona fans loved that - the save, not the pass that gave away possession, of course!

25' Benitez curls in a cross from the left flank but Casilla stands tall, leaping into the air to claim it before Stuani can get to it. That was a confident catch after a couple of nervy moments from the Real goalkeeper.

23' Hakimi's cross is not cleared well and the ball falls to Ronaldo at the edge of the box. He tries to take it with his left foot and it doesn't come off well, as the ball deflects off a defender for a corner. Had he struck that well, he could have seriously tested Bono considering he had so much space to get a shot off.

21' Borja Garcia strips the ball in midfield and advances on goal but with four players in support, Garcia goes for glory with a shot that is so wayward he'll probably get a earful at half-time in the dressing room.

19' What was Ramos doing? A poor back-pass almost allowed Stuani to pounce on the ball before Casilla came to the rescue. Girona have a corner though, which goes to waste.
