FULL TIME: Man City 5-0 Liverpool

Sadio Mane's red card in the first half sees Manchester City dominate Liverpool and win 5-0. It's the Sky Blues' biggest win over Liverpool in 80 years thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero and a brace each for Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane.

After winning 4-0 against Liverpool in the previous round of fixtures, this will be a huge blow for the Anfield side. Meanwhile, the three points sees Pep Guardiola's side top the table for the time being as Liverpool drop down to fifth.

TOP CORNER! Leroy Sane receives the ball outside the box from the right side, he waits for a challenge that never comes and then picks his spot to curl the ball past Mignolet to see the net bulge.

Two more minutes of misery for Jurgen Klopp and his beleaguered side.

90' City are a resilient bunch. As soon as they lose the ball, they do everything to win it back. Liverpool cannot string more than two passes together at the moment.

87' Agueroooo... SAVED! Another delightful cross from the left finds the Argentine striker at the far post but his first-time effort on goal is blocked by Mignolet.

86' My colleague asks me if Claudio Bravo has been tested yet. I'm pretty sure his patience has been tested. For all we know, he may be sipping on a pina-colada at the other end because the ball has barely crossed over into City's half.

85' Sane goes down in the box following a challenge from compatriot Can as they both looked to win the ball in an aerial duel. Sane protests but the referee has none of it.

83' Agueroooo... MISS! Can makes a mess of a clearance and allows Aguero to nick the ball off of him. He sets himself up for a shot from a tight angle but it's half-hearted and goes well over the bar.

82' Dominic Solanke (who had come on earlier) is fighting a losing battle up top. Any time he tries to advance the ball forward, he finds himself all alone with no support and at least three sky blue shirts bearing down on him.

80' YELLOW CARD! Can lunges in on Aguero who was anyway moving away from goal. Very careless because City have a free-kick near the corner flag.

De Bruyne slips the ball through to Leroy Sane and he finds Mendy charging down the left flank. Sane then sneaks in through the Liverpool back-line and Mendy's pass is perfect, put away by Sane with consummate ease!

GOOOAAALLL! Man City 4-0 Liverpool

76' What is Can doing? Down to 10 men and playing in a defensive role in the back-line, he attempts to dribble past City's entire midfield. Of course he loses the ball but to his relief the referee blows the whistle for a foul by Silva which I cannot comprehend.

73' Mendy is giving Liverpool all sorts of trouble on the left flank. Despite his size and stature, he easily caresses the ball past two defenders before sending in a cross that is booted away by Liverpool. Klopp's side now have fie men in the box when City have the ball.

70' SUBSTITUTION: Otamendi is replaced by Mangala. The last thing Guardiola wants is another booking for the Argentine to make this an even contest.

69' FOUL! Danilo brings down Milner and the Liverpool man takes his time to get back to his feet. The visitors have a free-kick out on the right which is taken by Alexander-Arnold but his cross is easily cleared.

68' OFFSIDE! City are running circles around the Reds' defence and this time Silva and Sane look to combine on the left. But the Spaniard strays a fraction offside as they look to carve open the back-line.

66' OFFSIDE! Oxlade-Chamberlain attempts a cute lob over the defence to find Alexander-Arnold but the youngster made his run too early. The linesman's flag goes up as City fans cheer.

Also, that's hopefully the last time I'll have to type both their names in the same sentence.

65' Sane finds space out ont he left and slips in a pass into the box for De Bruyne. But the Belgian takes the shot first time and skies it into Row Z.

64' City circle the Liverpool defence like sharks, looking for a chink in their armour. They're trying the audacious now, getting braver with each possession. Liverpool are just hanging on for now, a bit disorganised at the back.

61' City are content passing the ball around, inviting Liverpool to press and leave spaces behind the midfield and defence so City's attack can exploit it. Liverpool have two banks of four when they are without possession with Firmino the lone player anywhere near the centre circle.

59' SUBSTITUTION: James Milner comes on to resounding boos (he was a former City player after all) as Wijnaldum makes way.

Guardiola clearly does not need two strikers on the pitch anymore and Jesus comes off for winger Sane to provide some width and cover the flanks as well when they don't have possession.

57' SUBSTITUTION: No hat-trick for Jesus today as he is replaced by Leroy Sane.

Fernandinho receives the ball near the centre circle, waits for Henderson to commit before slipping it through to Aguero. He's one-on-one with Mignolet but suddenly finds Jesus for company to his left. A simple pass takes Mignolet out of the game and Jesus scores with a simple tap-in.

City are in complete control!

GOOOO....OFFSIDE! AGAIN! Aguero finds himself in acres of space and puts the ball into the net but the linesman's flag goes up.

50' Oxlade-Chamberlain and Firmino combine well and the English midfielder sends Firmino on his way into the box with a looped ball over the defence. Firmino tries his best to get a shot away but it goes out for a corner - which they eventually fail to capitalise on.

Ederson update: The word on the injured goalkeeper is that he is alright but he will be taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

47' With Liverpool down to 10 men, they're now playing in what is effectively a 4-4-1 formation (for now) while City have also switched to a back-four now.

46' SUBSTITUTION: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain comes on for Salah as a half-time substitute

Who said Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus can't play together? Both have got on the score sheet and Liverpool only have themselves to blame with Sadio Mane getting sent off towards the end of regulation time in the first half.

45+8' Salah... Skips pas one... Skips past two... He's all alone on the right and finally crowded out by a back-tracking City defence who pinch the ball from him at the last moment.

This time Gabriel Jesus stays onside! Kevin De Bruyne receives the ball on the left, switches it to his right foot and crosses it to the edge of the six-yard box where Jesus is unchallenged as he diverts the ball into the net.

But he does look at the linesman for good measure before he starts his celebration. 2-0 up for the side with 11 men.

45+3' GOOOO....OFFSIDE! A beautiful cross from the right is headed into the back of the net by Jesus but before they can celebrate the linesman's flag goes up. He cannot believe it but replays show he was well offside.

45+1' The medical staff finally carry Ederson off the pitch and the fourth official puts up a board saying there will be EIGHT minutes added on in the first half.

As if on cue, the City faithful sing a rendition of the most popular anti-Liverpool chant in recent years.

41' SUBSTITUTION! Ederson cannot continue as the medical staff strap him to a stretcher, possibly to be taken to the nearest hospital. Claudio Bravo is ready to come on in his place.

Klopp is fuming. He feels Mane should not have been sent off, claiming the player didn't see Ederson advancing.

The kick to the face looks worse on the TV replays. Ederson first saw Mane's boot make contact with his face before Senegalese player barged into him. That was a double-whammy!

37' RED CARD! Sadio Mane gets a straight red card following a nasty collision outside City's box. Another long ball from Matip tries to find Mane but the ball bounces in front of him. Ederson sprints off his line and attempts to head it clear but Mane sticks his boot out.

Ederson needs treatment, he looks like he has been knocked out. Mane trudges off the field while Ederson may need to be stretchered off.

34' Jesuuuussss... BLOCKED! He strips the ball from Klavan who eventually loses out to the Brazilian after a bitter battle. Jesus goes solo even though he has help in the box and is eventually crowded out as he gets a shot off.

32' OFFSIDE! This time the flag does go up but at the other end. Jesus makes his run far too early when a long ball attempts to put him one-on-one with Mignolet.

31' SAVE! Liverpool do well to pass their way out of trouble and Mane slips the ball through to Salah on the right. The offside flag stays down and it's the right call. Salah attempts to curl it past Ederson but the goalkeeper dives to his right and thwarts the shot with a strong hand,

29' Can steps up to take the free-kick but last year's Goal of the Season winner is nowhere close to curling it in to the top corner as Ederson watches it sail past the outside of the far post.

28' YELLOW CARD! Liverpool counter yet again through Mane who runs through the City midfield and is tripped by Fernandinho who goes into the book. Mane was crash tackled by Otamendi as he fell but he's back on his feet (surprisingly - that looked nasty).

27' What a save! Salah receives the ball out on the right and spots Mane making a run into the xis-yard box but his pass is confidently pounced on by the alert Ederson.

Kevin De Bruyne receives the ball in midfield and slips the ball through to Sergio Aguero. The striker made a run that bisected the two centre-backs, before rounding Mignolet to pass the ball into the back of the net. 1-0 to Man City!
