Barcelona's season looks to go from bad to worse with each passing day. This current toom looks bereft of any sort of confidence and plan, and it is almost painful to watch them.

90' Madrid toying with Barcelona once again. Carvajal cuts into the box and goes to the byline before cutting one across the face of the goal for Marcelo, who fails to get proper connection and it skids away.

89' Yellow Card: Suarez is booked for holding back Casemiro with his hands. The Uruguayan has a thing or two to tell the referee.
'Campeones' rings around the Bernabeu, the stadium is getting ready for the party and who would complain?

88' Marcelo and Theo bomb forward as Madrid try to find another one. The Spaniard is played through and he attempts a left footed shot across the face of goal but does not get a proper connection with it.

87' Roberto runs into Casemiro and is in a heap, clutching his chest. Suarez, also is seen holding his right knee, not a good sign.

84' Semedo goes down at the edge of the Madrid box in theatrical style but the referee is having none of it and waves play on.
Replays show Semedo received a slight knock on his right foot but still his reaction was over the top.

82' Messi, who is having a poor game by his standards, continues to fluff his lines as he is just shrugged off the ball as he tries to dribble past two Madrid players.

80' Substitution: Toni Kroos' game is over and he is replaced by Ceballos.

77' Barcelona with the final change of the game.

Substitution: Lucas Digne comes on to replace Jordi Alba. They have given up!

76' Suarez goes down inside the box under challenge from Navas as he tried to get on the end of a through ball but he is offside and we are back to square one.

75' Substitution: Theo Hernandez comes on to replace Marco Asensio.

74' Rakitic makes his way towards the Madrid box before letting one fly but it is blocked and another chance goes begging.
From the corner, Umtiti gets a shot away but it is cleared and the ball falls to Messi, whose right footed shot is way wide.

72' Substitution: Gerard Deulofeu comes on to take the place of Andre Gomes.

72' Navas denies Barcelona twice in quick succession, First it was Suarez who threads one through to Roberto - who is clear - he is not able to get the proper connection behind it and ends up poking it straight at Navas, the ball is cleared but only slightly, as Messi gets hold of the ball and lets one fly from outside of the box, the ball is destined for the bottom corner but Navas makes a full stretch dive to parry it but only into the path of Suarez whose diving header hits the upright and goes out.

69' Roberto tries to dance his way through the middle of the park. The Spaniard glides his way past a couple of Madrid players before he is tackled excellently by Casemiro.

Real Madrid have the better Supercopa history when head to head record is considered. Before this year, the two arch rivals have faced each other in the Supercopa on 6 occasions, with Madrid coming out on top 5 times.

66' Semedo is impeded down the right and Barcelona win a free-kick. Messi floats it towards the back post and Navas is caught out but Suarez fails to get his header on target.

64' Roberto should have buried that but he fails to make connection with it. Alba swings a delightful ball into the box and Roberto is the nearest to it, he tries to stab it past Navas and slides in but the ball evades him.

Meanwhile, Messi and Sergio Ramos were involved in a small scuffle with the Argentine not holding back from using some foul words after Ramos threw the ball when Barcelona won a free-kick.

62' Substitution: Kovacic is replaced by Casemiro.

61' Madrid are just passing at the edge of the Barcelona box as Valverde's men continue to chase shadows.

59' Barcelona have started to knock on the door now. Semedo has the ball down the right and he lifts a cross into the box with Suarez coming forward, the former Liverpool man glances a header which Navas does well to gather.

57' Suarez has a great opportunity to pull one back for his side but his shot is poor and is blocked.
The Uruguayan was just a couple of yards away from the goal line and an attempted cross by Roberto fell to his feet but he couldn't capitalize.

55' OHH BENZEMA GOES CLOSE! Semedo has a poor clearance and Marcelo takes advantage of it, slipping it to Asensio, who lays it off with his first touch allowing Benzema to race clear, with the angle narrowing the Frenchman opts to go for it with his left foot and almost beats Ter Stegen.

53' ALMOST A GOAL FOR BARCELONA!!! MESSI's shot ricochets off the crossbar and Barcelona's best chance goes to waste.
Things just aren't going according to plan for the Catalan giants.

52' Messi with yet another futile attempt to make things happen on his own as his run is brought to an abrupt halt by Kroos.

50' Substitution: Gerard Pique has been taken off and is replaced by Semedo. Barcelona switching to a back four?

48' Barcelona are looking to pile on the pressure early in the half. Luis Suarez has the ball and he gets to the byline, he doesn't have the confidence to shoot and opts to lay it off for his teammate but it is cutout.

This has been an annihilation so far, with Real Madrid head shoulders and a city over their arch rivals. Ernesto Valverde's defense is all over the place, while the whole team looks overwhelmed. How they respond to this humiliation will most probably shape up their season, does Messi or any Barcelona player have anything special left in them? They don't need special, they need a miracle!
