East Bengal will be looking to climb above their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan in the I-League table, as they travel to Coimbatore to face Chennai City FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, today.
The Red and Golds have been in a mixed bag of form this season, with heir head coach Khalid Jamil reportedly being under immense pressure from the club management. They had a poor start to the season, after being held 2-2 at home by Aizawl FC, followed by a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mohun Bagan. However, a 5-1 victory over Shillong Lajong and a 3-2 victory over bottom club Churchill Brothers seem to have brought their season back on track, to some extent.
Meanwhile, Chennai City FC have been struggling to find form this season, having lost three of their five matches. Perhaps the most embarrassing of these losses was their 3-0 defeat on the opening day against the Indian Arrows, a side that comprises of U17 and U19 players. However, Chennai have managed to get their season back on track to some extent, with a 2-0 win against Churchill Brothers in their last match.
