Good afternoon and welcome to the Sportskeeda liveblog of the 2018 India Open second round. Top seed PV Sindhu is aiming for a quarter-final berth. A win today will extend the defending champion's winning streak to seven matches. In her quest to do so, she faces the 40th ranked Linda Zetchiri of Bulgaria.

This is the first meeting between the two.

Zetchiri beat India's Vaidehi Choudhari 21-19, 21-15 in the first round while the World No. 3 Sindhu was highly aggressive and sharp in her opener yesterday and thrashed Natalia Koch Rohde 21-10, 21-13.

Sindhu lost in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters last week in straight games and would be highly motivated to win the title at home this week. Considering that and her first round form, she should be expected to breeze through her second round match.
