Good evening and welcome to the Sportskeeda liveblog of the World Archery Championships 2017 Gold Medal Match in the Women's Compound Section.

Sixth seeds India take on the fourth seeds Colombia in the final.

The Indian girls have already created history by becoming the first compound team from the country to reach the final of the World Championships and they are looking for more. No Indian has ever won gold from this prestigious tournament. India has four medals from this event and they are all silver.

In 2005, the recurve troika of Tarundeep Rai, Gautam Singh and Jayanta Talukdar grabbed the men's silver in Madrid. Deepika Kumari, Laishram Bombayla Devi and Chekrovolu Swuro brought home the women's recurve silver in 2011. Deepika earned her second team silver in 2015 alongside Rimil Buriuly and Laxmirani Majhi.

In 2015, India got its first compound medal when Rajat Chauhan etched his name in record books after becoming the first Indian archer to bag an individual medal. It was again a silver medal.

If today, the Indian women's compound team of Trisha Deb, Lily Chanu Paonam and Jyothi Surekha Vennam can defeat the higher seeds Colombia, they will become the first Indians ever to taste a gold medal from the World Championships.

The Indian girls have so far performed well at this World Championships being held in Mexico City. They have had the highest per-match average out of all the teams in the field going into the final.

India beat 11th seeds Russia 232-229 in the Round of 16 and then went on to upset the third seeds Denmark 233-228 in the quarter-finals. In the last-four stage, they prevailed over the 10th seeded Germany, 232-227.

Can they hold their nerves and do it once more in the most important match of the tournament?
