15:37 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

FULL TIME: Iran 77-47 India

A thoroughly dominant performance from Iran in the third and fourth quarter saw them pull away from India in spite of leading by only seven points at the half.

Hamed Hadadi was the star for Iran with 17 points and 23 rebounds! He was ably supported by Sahakian (16 points) and Yakhchali (15 points).

For India, a terrible third quarter saw them only score 2 points in 10 minutes. None of the main players turned up with Vishesh Bhriguvanshi top scoring (14 points but with 6/19 FGs ). Amritpal Singh only managed 6 points (2/14 FGs) while Amjyot Singh scored 7 points (2/13 FGs).

The result sees Iran go through to the semi-finals along with South Korea and Iraq who beat Chinese Taipei and China respectively.

15:31 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran's defence has been resolute, not giving the Indians a foot of space and forcing them to take bad shots. On offense, their ball rotation ahs given their teammates easy shots to take with enough time to set themselves up for a shot.

15:29 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

With Hadadi on the bench, India are still looking for perimeter shots. There's no way they can erase the deficit but they aren't exactly hot from beyond the line to attempt so many shots.

15:28 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran's average winning margin was 39 points before this game. They lead by 34 but India have handed it to them on a plate.

15:27 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Less than four minutes to go and Yakhchali makes a superb three-point shot from near the baseline. That was another nail in the coffin for India and a few players have their heads hanging low.

15:25 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

74-37! Iran have now scored double the points as India in the entire game.

15:24 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

REJECTION! That's the defence we want to see. Amritpal Singh stands strong and blocks a layup. But he can't convert at the other end.

15:24 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Nothing is going India's way. Amjyot is whistled for a travel violation and Iran have the ball back.

15:19 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Amritpal Singh continues to struggle from the line. After he was fouled on a fast break, he converts only one free throw.

15:18 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

India finally score as Vishesh nails a three-pointer. But their defence is all over the place. 67-36 is not a pretty scoreline after the first half ended 38-31.

15:17 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Make that a 21-0 run as Iran convert another three-point shot.

15:16 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran are on an 18-0 run!

15:16 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

The fourth quarter is underway and it's the same story for India. A desperate three-pointer goes in vain as Iran dominate the boards and grab the rebound.

15:14 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

India have been physically and psychologically beaten in this quarter. They only scored 2 points in the ENTIRE QUARTER.

Iran now lead 64-33!

15:12 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

With a minute to go in the third quarter, India have only scored 2 points in this quarter. Iran? 29!

15:09 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Hadadi makes another couple of free throws and Iran lead 59-33.

15:08 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Sivakumar gets an open three-point shot near the baseline but again it's an airball from India.

15:07 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

With 3 minutes to go, India are in foul trouble again and Iran have free throws for every foul - which they are making good use of.

15:07 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran have blown India away in the third quarter. If the offense let them down in the first half, their defence has been collectively mediocre in the second half so far.

15:05 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran now lead by 20 points! The score reads 53-23! India have only scored two points this quarter.

15:03 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran so dominant now that even the shortest player (5'11") on the court is claiming offensive rebounds and drawing the foul at the same time!

15:01 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran are simply unstoppable at the moment. You must wonder why India haven't called a timeout. Amjyot misses another hesitant shot and Iran break away at the other end to increase the lead to 15 points. 46-31 now.

14:59 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Amritpal Singh tries to get in the way of Hadadi and concedes a foul. He's on 4 fouls now. Meanwhile, Hadadi is up to 15 points now.

14:58 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

At the other end, Hadadi is running things. He's managed to find his teammates with ease and he's collecting assists for fun.

14:58 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Amjyot Singh misses now. He had a shot at the top of the lane near the free throw line but fails to score.

14:57 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Amritpal tries to get a hook shot over Hadadi. He manages to shoot over his towering opponent but again can't convert. He's 2/11 from the field today.

14:56 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

And we're back underway with the third quarter.

14:55 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Coach Yadav can tell the Indian cagers that they've done well on offense to rotate the ball but they simply must convert their open shots - especially their free-throws. TJ Sahi could be a substitution to get some shots off from the perimeter.

14:51 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Hadadi has been supported well by Sahakian (9 points) and Yakhchali (8 points).

14:51 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

The hero of the game has undoubtedly been Iran's center Hadadi. He's already got a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds

14:47 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

HALF TIME: Iran 38-31 India

India's three key players - Amritpal Singh, Vishesh Bhriguvanshi and Amjyot Singh - have all struggled with a combined 18 points so far. At least two of them need to step it up in the second half if India are to make a comeback.

14:46 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

A technical foul was called on Iran and Bhriguvanshi nailed the free-throw. They have the ball back but can't capitalise before the buzzer.

14:44 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran take a timeout with 2.8 seconds left on the clock.

14:43 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

YADWINDER SINGH with a three-pointer! With seconds remaining in the second quarter, he nails from downtown to reduce the lead to 8.

14:43 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Sahakian is fouled and goes to the line with India in foul trouble. He makes both and the lead is now 38-27.

14:42 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

India are rotating the ball now but they're still struggling to convert. A string of passes sees Bhriguvanshi collect the ball outside the perimeter and he forces a shot that comes off the rim.

14:41 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Bhriguvanshi collects an offensive rebound from an Amritpal shot and converts! The lead is reduced to 9. Iran are struggling to score now on fast breaks.

14:40 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Amritpal Singh finally gets another basket. Only his second FG so far. He's shot 2/9 so far which is poor by his standards in the past couple of games against China and Kazakhstan.

14:39 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Sahakian is fouled and converts! He makes it a three-point play. The double team on Hadadi is costing India as he finds his open teammates with ease.

14:38 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Amjyot nails a mid-range shot to bring the lead back down to 10 points.

14:38 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

India's shooting is less than 25% in this game so far. That's where they have let the game slip away.

14:37 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

India are still struggling from the three-point line. Iran have won the ball back on turnovers but haven't taken advantage and Iran take a timeout now to discuss their strategy for the rest of the quarter.

14:35 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Bhriguvanshi makes the penetration into the lane and tries to feed Amritpal who is fouled. He goes to the line but his first shot completely misses the ring. He converts the second though.

14:34 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Hadadi has already got a double-double in the second quarter. 11 points and 14 rebounds in 16 minutes!

14:33 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Amritpal feeds Bhriguvanshi and provides a screen for a three-point shot but Vishesh can't convert. India really need to convert these shots. Hadadi is now dominating both ends with a converted shot on offense before blocking a shot at the other!

14:32 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

5 minutes to go in the second quarter and Iran lead India 31-20.

14:32 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

BHRIGUVANSHI with a fast-break to finish at the other end. Hadadi wins a foul after India try to TRIPLE-TEAM him in the post.

14:31 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

Iran are looking to win the title for a third straight time and Hadadi is currently on a roll. India's defence were caught sleeping and he goes in for a two-handed slam dunk!

14:30 (GMT)16 SEP 2016

With Iran running away in the past few minutes, Coach Yadav quickly calls a timeout for India.
