Alrighty! Who will emerge as the mighty, come the end of the season? There's no official update on when the season will begin or where it will be played. Surely, that information should be out pretty soon in the coming week or so. For now, old enemies will look forward to pairing up as teammates, while old teammates will be preparing to battle it out against each other. Plenty of young talent on show as well of course. This is where talent meets opportunity after all! We hope these future stars shine bright on the big stage.

On that note, it's finally time to bid you adieu. It's been an absolute pleasure and an unforgettable experience to bring you all the updates from the auction. We hope you enjoyed our coverage as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. This is Pratyush, signing off on behalf of my colleagues, Prasen, Habil, Shashwat, Soorya, and Dwijesh. And of course, the rest of the crew at Sportskeeda that made this happen. Not to forget, you guys, who tuned in! See you around, folks! Ciao!

21:49 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Before we sign off, here is a team-wise list of all the players sold on Day 2. You can also check out all the squads and other updates on the IPL page on our site and app. Lots of stories there that you wouldn't want to miss out on!

21:33 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Right then. That brings down the curtains on two eventful days of the IPL 2022 auction. The franchises have gathered their troops and will slowly start preparing for the war. Most teams will be quite pleased with the squads they've managed to stack up. It's half the job done for them. Now, we wait. It's going to be a bigger and grander IPL season, with 10 teams taking part this year.

All eyes are on when these players take the field now. We could have serious competition this season. Will we see new champions? Or will the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings continue their dominance? It'll also be interesting to see how the two new franchises go on about their business. The curtain draws on this season, but the season has only just begun! The countdown to a new IPL has started already, and we for one, cannot wait for it to come around quickly enough! Hopefully, we get another auction soon with the WIPL hoping to kick off. That topic is for another time though.

21:18 (IST)13 FEB 2022

And that's STUMPS! 67 overseas players and 137 Indian players, making it to a grand 204 names segregated across the ten teams. Yes, 10 teams - let's get used to that, shall we? Windfalls, steals, robberies, surprises, shocks and nerves galore across these two days! But we now know how the teams are lined up ahead of the next cycle of the IPL. If conjecture is anything to go by, we might have just seen the curtains all on the final mega auction ever until date. That's a discussion for another day of course but jeez, what a rollercoaster this weekend was!

Teams broke the bank for young Indian talent and fast-bowlers in particular while some of the veterans couldn't find takers. It's the quintessential dawn of a new era while a grand one draws to a close. Some bank accounts will see an exponential increase in the number of zeroes while amidst all of that, some more great stories have been unearthed. Of course, a lot of that will come to the fore in due course of time but the fact that the IPL is a stage 'where talent meets opportunity' has been vindicated yet again with the number of lesser-known names that franchises have invested in.

No team is a runaway favorite from the looks of it and no team is an underwhelming underdog either. Set up for a perfect season ahead of us, isn't it? Half the job which was to be done at the auction is done. But from the auction, we remove the 'U' and quickly move to live action come the end of March, when the tournament is likely to begin. But this weekend wasn't short of riveting action now, was it? The ebbs and flows were archetypal of what we will get to witness once the players take the field and boy, didn't we enjoy the 'bumpy ride', as Prasen mentioned earlier in the day!

21:04 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Kulwant Khejroliya. Any takers? None at all? No, is the answer. Akash Madhwal is the final player in this auction. Will any side snap him up? Nope. That's it, folks! That officially brings us to the end of the IPL 2022 Auction.

21:03 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Shivank Vashisth comes in next at a base price of ₹20 lakh. No interest for him anywhere. He's passed on. Rahul Chandrol is next. He's going unsold as well!

21:03 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Dwijesh: RCB has picked up Willey quite shrewdly. A similar bowler to Jason Behrendorff and could also double up as a batter, both down the order and in the top-order.

21:02 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Aman Khan moves to KKR for ₹20 lakh.

21:02 (IST)13 FEB 2022

David Willey is sold to RCB for ₹2 crore. Could be a shrewd pick, that. He can be used brilliantly as a floater. He's vastly improved as a batter.

21:01 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Fabian Allen. Mumbai Indians have pulled off an ultimate steal for ₹75 lakh!

21:01 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Dwijesh: Sai Sudharshan is a fine player, one of the breakout stars of the TNPL last season. As fearless as they come. Could be a bargain for the ages if he gets the chance to showcase his talent for the Gujarat Titans.

21:01 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Luvnith Sisodia's bidding opens at ₹20 lakh. Sold to RCB on the first bid!

21:00 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Aryan Juyal comes in next. Signed up for ₹20 lakh by the Mumbai Indians!

20:59 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Sidharth Kaul goes to RCB for ₹75 lakh. Andrew Tye remains unsold. So does Rohan Kadam.

But Soorya's watchout player B Sai Sudharsan fetches a bid from Gujarat TItans for ₹25 lakh.

20:58 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Soorya: Quite a Royal surge this from Rajasthan! None better than Rassie van der Dussen as a back up for Jos Buttler. Terrific pick!

Dwijesh: Rajasthan Royals doing their best to fill in their overseas quota. Neesham and Mitchell are fine options with one of them likely to make the cut in the eleven as well. As for RCB, Kaul could be a decent acquisition given his knack of picking wickets with the knuckle ball. Good back-up for Harshal

20:57 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Rajasthan Royals continue to acquire some valid backup options. Daryl Mitchell is the next one. Settled for ₹75 lakh.

20:57 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Players bought in the final round of the auction:

Mohammad Nabi - Kolkata Knight Riders (₹ 1 crore)

Umesh Yadav - Kolkata Knight Riders (₹ 2 crore)

James Neesham - Rajasthan Royals (₹ 1.5 crore)

Nathan Coulter-Nile - Rajasthan Royals (₹ 2 crore)

Vicky Ostwal - Delhi Capitals (₹ 20 lakh)

Rassie van der Dussen - Rajasthan Royals (₹ 1 crore)

20:57 (IST)13 FEB 2022

This time he better have some bidders. It's Rassie van der Dussen. Rajasthan Royals make the first bid. They've got him for ₹1.5 core. What a pick!

20:56 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Right. Vicky Ostwal comes in. India's start in the U19 World Cup would be a smart buy with his left-arm spin. Smartly picked up by Delhi Capitals for ₹20 lakh

20:55 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Ishant Sharma. Any bidders? None! The veteran is unsold! Qais Ahmed is here too. He remains unsold too.

20:55 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Nathan Coulter-Nile is up next. Mumbai Indians aren't going after him this time. Another swift wrap up for Rajasthan Royals!

20:54 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Soorya: Get ready for social media (read Twitter) to crash - James Neesham joins Rajasthan Royals and puts their admin's post at risk!

20:54 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Players bought in the final round of the auction:

Mohammad Nabi - Kolkata Knight Riders (₹ 1 crore)

Umesh Yadav - Kolkata Knight Riders (₹ 2 crore)

James Neesham - Rajasthan Royals (₹ 1.5 crore)

20:54 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Dwijesh: Not sure if Shakib al Hasan has been shortlisted but Mohammad Nabi might just be a back-up to Russell or Narine. Not a bad option to have by any means. Umesh Yadav also adds value to KKR's bowling roster

20:54 (IST)13 FEB 2022

James Neesham is here again. Third time lucky? Yes, it seems. Rajasthan Royals pick him up for ₹1.5 crore

20:53 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Umesh Yadav is in next. His base price is ₹2 crore. KKR open the bidding again and snap up Umesh Yadav!

20:53 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Let's get right to it then. Mohammed Nabi, the Afghan veteran is here. KKR open the bidding at ₹1 crore. They've got their man! That was quick.

20:46 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Okay then. Star Sports have confirmed that there will be 23 players in this final set. It's time then! Welcome back, for one final set.

20:44 (IST)13 FEB 2022

KS Viswanathan, CEO, Chennai Super Kings: At the end of the day yesterday, out of the 10 players, 9 were ex-CSK players. We planned as normally as we do - credit goes to the skipper and the coach. They are the ones who work on the balance of the team. As we wanted we've got most of our players back. Deepak Chahar has been one of the more consistent bowlers over the years and he has been doing very well with his batting. Knowing his performances for CSK we knew we had to go for him. We couldn't get Faf who has served us for close to a decade but that's how the auction process is. We couldn't afford Thakur as well and we will miss him too. As far as Faf is concerned it's almost a decade now. We didn't have the money to get him. We thought that the best replacement can be Devon Conway since he has been doing well in all formats. Fleming is aware of his credentials watching him in New Zealand.

As far as Adam Milne is concerned we wanted a quick bowler since we couldn't get Josh (Hazlewood). We will miss Josh as well. Dube is an Indian all-rounder but as far as the playing XI is concerned, it's down to the coach and the captain. I have no say in that. To be very frank, we have some done hardwork earlier. Given what we have done over the years and the last two-three years, we had the data. I think our technical team along with Sundar (Raman) had it clear. I think yesterday people would have been confused but today we have a balanced team. I will never say we are champion team but will follow our captain and set the process right - we have a very balanced team and are confident of doing well. As far as we are consistent the results will come. (Message for the fans) I said before that Thalaivan (Dhoni) will take the best team and I think he has done that.

20:35 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Here's a moment we will remember for a long, long time. The moment of this auction for sure!

Shubham Garhwal moves to Rajasthan Royals for ₹20 lakh.

20:22 (IST)13 FEB 2022

20:21 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Arjun Tendulkar is here! And of course, Mumbai Indians raise the paddle. Gujarat Titans push the price for a mini bid and bow out. All smiles around it. Tendulkar to Mumbai for ₹30 lakh!

20:20 (IST)13 FEB 2022

Bharat Sharma, the all-rounder is the next player in for ₹20 lakh. No takers. Hugh's charm doesn't work either. No bids!

20:19 (IST)13 FEB 2022
