Newcastle have made an enquiry to Manchester City over the availability of Eliaquim Mangala.

The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad following the club-record arrival of Aymeric Laporte. However, it’s unlikely Newcastle will progress with a bid unless City reduce their asking price.

Sevilla will turn their attentions to Everton striker Sandro Ramirez after failing to land Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea.

The Belgian had been a top January target for the Liga side, although reports suggest he could now be heading to Dortmund as the German club looks to replace Arsenal-bound Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And that has prompted Sevilla to look elsewhere, with out-of-favour Everton forward Sandro now a possibility before the transfer window closes.

Bordeaux are weighing up a move for former Arsenal striker Niklas Bendtner.

After failing to land Diafra Sakho, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Martin Braithwaite, the Ligue 1 side are now considering bringing in the 30-year-old Denmark international, who has been in impressive goalscoring form for Rosenborg.

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev on how much Real Madrid bid for Kylian Mbappe: "They offered the same amount as PSG [£166m]. I wouldn't have done it, but I respected Kylian and his family's wishes."

Wolfsburg are trying to persuade Liverpool midfielder Lazar Markovic to kick-start his career with them.

Liverpool are happy for him to join the Bundesliga club on a permanent deal before the transfer window closes. There had been interest from Swansea but it now appears that Wolfsburg is the main option left open to him to secure a move away from Anfield, with the Swans not confident of signing the Serbia international.

On-loan forward Jese still has an important role to play for Stoke this season, according to manager Paul Lambert.

"It's good to have him in and around the training ground once again and I've seen little glimpses from him since he's come back," said Lambert.

"Going forward, he looks impressive but that has never been in question because we know the type of player he is."

"He still needs to get up to speed with his fitness but in the short time that I've been here, he's been very good offensively.

On-loan Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante has refused to rule out a summer move to the Premier League amid talk of interest from Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of the most promising talents in Italian football, with a senior international debut made in October 2017, and has previously expressed a desire to test himself in England.

West Brom are aiming to follow up the signing of Daniel Sturridge with a deal for Borussia Dortmund forward Andre Schurrle.

Sturridge joined West Brom on loan from Liverpool on Monday and the club are now in talks with Dortmund over a temporary move for Schurrle.

The former Chelsea attacker has also been linked with the likes of Newcastle and West Ham, with Dortmund prepared to let him leave before the January transfer window closes.

Alan Pardew has revealed one player could leave West Brom before the transfer window closes, but says it is not Jonny Evans or James McClean.

"I have nothing to complain about, as I stand now I have a good squad and I don't really want to lose anyone, said Pardew, ahead of West Brom's away fixture at Manchester City on Wednesday.

"We do have one player who we think might go out but it's not Jonny Evans or James McClean."

PSG are reportedly in contract negotiations with Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak about a deal worth €14m a year pre-tax.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has still not given up hope of landing the striker he desperately wants with the January transfer window entering its final few hours.

"We have some time and we have an important game tomorrow, I will not talk about the window. I will concentrate on the game and ensure we will not lose focus on that," Benitez said in his press conference today.

"We still have time I am confident we can do something. I will not spend too much time speaking about that.

"Yes, we are working on names and we have worked for one month, longer than one month. The last month we have worked on the names we had on the list, we still have some time."

Southampton have had a £25m bid for Spartak Moscow’s Dutch international Quincy Promes rejected.

It is understood the Russians want £30m for the winger.

Tottenham have had a loan offer rejected by Chelsea for Michy Batshuayi.

The player does not want to move to Spurs.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says striker Michy Batshuayi "is in contention for tomorrow’s game" against Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The out-of-favour Belgian had been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund before the window closes.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to offer Raphael Varane in part-exchange for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Perez wants to sign a new keeper in the summer and feels Courtois is more attainable than Manchester United No.1 David de Gea.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Courtois, but Perez hopes including Varane in any deal will help Madrid to win the chase for the Belgium international.

Athletic Bilbao have confirmed they will sign Real Sociedad's Inigo Martinez after paying his €32m release clause.

The Spain international centre back had also been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has denied that striker Fernando Llorente could leave the club in January, with the Spaniard having reportedly been linked with Chelsea.

Crystal Palace are in talks to sign one of two new strikers – Preston’s Jordan Hugill or FC Midtjylland’s Alexander Sorloth – ahead of the transfer deadline.

Palace have made an offer to sign Hugill, but their valuation falls some way short of what Preston are looking for.Palace’s budget for a striker this month has been between £10m and 12m.

The club had been trying to sign Khouma Babakar from Fiorentina and considered a move for Ashley Barnes, but Roy Hodgson publically ruled out a move for the Burnley forward on Monday.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo believes attackers Yannick Carrasco and Kevin Gameiro are unlikely to leave the club this month.

Both Carrasco and Gameiro have attracted interest from elsewhere this month and although Cerezo refused to rule out the possibility of player sales before the close of the transfer window, he hinted that the Belgian and the Frenchman are likely to stay put.

When discussing the possibility of players leaving Atleti this month, Cerezo told Marca: “At the moment no. Maybe it’s possible that a player leaves, but at the moment we don’t have anything planned.

"[Yannick] Carrasco is a magnificent player that suits us very well, [Kevin] Gameiro is an extraordinary forward. And I think that they are very well here."

Roma will target Genoa star Diego Laxalt as they search for a replacement for Chelsea-bound Emerson Palmieri, Sky Sport in Italy reports.

The Premier League side have agreed a £17.5 million fee with Roma for the defender, and the Serie A side are now looking at Laxalt, with Bruno Peres potentially being offered as a makeweight.

Lionel Messi tells David Beckham to give him a call about joining MLS!

Beckham announced on Monday that he would be setting up a franchise in Florida, having exercised an option in his old LA Galaxy contract.

"Hi David, first of all congratulations. I hope all goes well with the new project, in this new step you are taking and who knows, in a few years maybe you will give me a call," said the Argentina international.

According to various reports, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left Dortmund airport in the last half hour and is believed to be on a private jet heading for London.

He could be at Arsenal’s training ground at London Colney before 4 pm this afternoon!

Newcastle are open to offers for midfielder Mikel Merino, who is wanted by Athletic Bilbao.

Athletic Bilbao have raked in €65m from the departure of Aymeric Laporte and are set to sign Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez to replace the Frenchman. However, they are also looking to splash the cash to sign Merino, who has been a long-term target for the Basque club.

Newcastle are willing to accept offers for the Spaniard and Athletic Bilbao have shown the most interest in securing his services.

Real Madrid will not be bringing in Inter forward Mauro Icardi in the January transfer window.

The Argentine was apparently attracting interest from Zinedine Zidane's side, with Los Blancos set to make a mega bid, although that is apparently not now going to happen.

Karim Benzema has rejected two offers to leave Real Madrid.

Florentino Perez is eager to shake up his squad, with the entire forward line marked for replacement as the president looks to get the Spanish capital side back in form.

Benzema's refusal to move on, however, coupled with the difficulty of trying to sell Cristiano Ronaldo, has left the 70-year-old in a difficult position.

Crystal Palace have been told to pay £17.6million for Lille captain Ibrahim Amadou, according to Sky sources.

Roy Hodgson remains hopeful that the versatile French midfielder will join him at Selhurst Park despite having two bids rejected by the Ligue 1 club, one of which was £16m, while the other was a loan with the option to buy.

Lille are under pressure to sell as they need to comply with FFP rules, but no agreement has been reached.

Everton have told West Ham midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is NOT for sale. Sam Allardyce has no intention of selling the midfielder.
